I love these things
I love these things! I own a small pest control operation and these can be used under kitchen and bathroom sinks, under beds, under dressers, etc as a last line of defense. They are built well, so dogs or kids have a hard time getting to the bait accidentally.

Works like a charm!
I set these in the corners where ants were searching for food. The one thing to realize is that if you put them directly in a group of ants' path they will probably sense something fishy and go around it. However, if you put them where they can seek them out and find it they will indeed find it and bring the precious poison back to the colony. Follow the instructions on the packaging and this should work well. If you want to doubly ensure that ants don't overlook your traps, cut a small hole in the top and put a tiny drop of honey inside. They'll find it and they'll scramble for that food. Destroyed all my ants in less than 3 days on multiple occasions.

This brand has helped me 2 years in a row
These traps and brand have worked very well in the past few years. I put these down in the perimeter of the room. I had a ton of ants slipping in from the backyard. Within 24-48 hours, they were totally gone. I put down 4 or so traps. I noticed the ants going on the trap within maybe 10 or so minutes. Overall will only buy Hot Shot from now on. They have worked fantastic for me. Highly recommend!

They work in Arizona
I live in Arizona and this is the only thing that has consistently worked for me. We get ants in the house about every other year. I just put a couple of these on their trail and leave the ants alone. I hate having them in the house for one second more than I have to but it's very important to let the ants get to the baits unmolested. Within 24 hours (on rare occasions 48) the ants are GONE! When I mean gone I mean you might see one or two deceased, but the rest of them go back to wherever it is they come from and are never seen again. I like to keep a box of these on hand so I can get them out the second I see signs of ants. They always work for me.

The baits I received are white in color rather than black, not really a big deal because I keep them out of sight anyway. I added them where ants were already walking though my house, was surprised to see the lines of ants walk right into the trap on their routes. Within hours the amount of ants in the house was significantly reduced. A week later almost no sign of them anywhere. I used this alongside with an outdoor bait gel. I try to leave buggies outside to live as they want, but when hey take over my house it becomes war.

These are very useful, however
These are very useful, however, if you have a cat, know that they are VERY attracted to them. They are not pet safe, so be sure to put them in a place where pets cannot get to them no matter how hard they try, because they will do just about anything to get to them. Apparently whatever attracts the ants also attracts cats.

Michigan Ants
Update: finally found where the ants were coming from. They were getting in underneath the bath tub, walking out from the surrounding tub exterior (it's a fancy Kohler deep jetted tub) and walking across the hallway to the bedroom window. Two and a half years later I just throw a couple of these under the tub from the pipe access panel and no ants at all! Tirelessly hunt the actual SOURCE of the ants. If the ants are on your window, it might be because they were already in your house and trying to get out. All of a sudden after snowing 6 days ago it's 70°out. Michigan. A bunch of ants came through my windows. They're caulked properly and double pane, but the tracks the windows slide on apparently let ants in. I had ants in my bathroom and kitchen. I found a 4 year old one of these under my sink still in the box. I put it on the kitchen window sill and went to work. I came home to: no live ants in the kitchen, 1 dead ant on the kitchen window sill and a bazillion live ants in the bathroom (which I didn't have a trap for). Yep: I'm here ordering MORE! My plan is to put them on the inside and outside kitchen and bathroom window sills. These work great. I've used them for years and finally ran out of the old supply I had. Room by room I've installed these in the past and room by room the ants stopped coming. Except the kitchen: all year round for a few years I find dead ants on the sill next to the traps. You break apart the four traps and then set them down. That's it. I left the last ones outside and inside for years. Now they've finally needed replacing. My ants are black and some are tiny and some are huge. They all seem to disappear after using these.

These are the best ant traps we have ever used by a mile.
I hate ants in the house, and these really work. Other traps have not. Friends pay $110 per quarter for an exterminator to spray, and we used these instead. Our results were identical to theirs. Our ants vanished for over five weeks by just setting out 4 of these, which is amazing considering that we have a REAL sugar ant problem in our neighborhood (we live near a beach, and apparently sugar ants love sand). I saw one ant a week ago and set out four more traps. No ants spotted since. I will continue to buy them. A simple solution to an annoying problem.

Day 1 many ants in room, Day 2 many ants on bait, Day 5 no ants anywhere
Before I got these, my kid was reporting 5-15 ants in his room per day. (Hangs out on the laptop on the floor.) And one day he had a swarm of ants over a renegade rice crispie. I vacuumed out the place, sprayed some water/vinegar around where the ants had swarmed in the middle of the room, and put all 8 of thse around the corners and windowsills of the room. A few days later, kid reported the ants were swarming one of the ant baits in one of the windows (guessing they got in through an invisible crack somewhere nearby), but zero ants out in the rest of the room. Then a few days after that the ants were gone from the bait too and no ants anywhere in the room. So guessing their colony is dead now. Since it's only been a couple of weeks, I'm just rotating one of the other baits into the position of the one that killed the colony in case anymore come back that way. People might be getting these bad reviews if they didn't manage to place one off to a corner near an ant trail for the ants to find. I read other reviews cautioning against sticking the bait right in the ants lest you scare them off and might agree with that. Other people put honey in theirs to draw ants, and maybe that made it so ants further off could smell it or something. I just put the whole box all around the room and the ants were all gone a week or so later, so the baits did their job. And just by pure math and luck, 7 of the baits actually had nothing to do because the one the ants locked on to took care of it. If this had failed, I'd have just gotten another box and placed more on some more corners and ends of window sills I didn't get to, and maybe in the closet etcetera.

Works Great!!
This is my first time using any type of ant bait. I’ll have to admit, I was a little skeptical, but glad I went with this product! I moved into a new house over winter, and started to notice ants crawling around once spring hit. I placed this product around their tracks and saw them eating on it within the next day! I didn’t have to add any type of food to attract them to it. About 2-3 weeks later, I started noticing a few more ants walking around but with impaired movement. Turns out, they were leaving the nest due to the poison, and I was finding dead ants near where they were coming in from. Great product.
