I was pretty skeptical about this
I was pretty skeptical about this. How good could an inflatable hot tub be? The answer is... pretty damn good! Highlights: It's actually fairly simple to put together. It took me under an hour. Keeps a pretty stable temperature of 103-104 (with the cover on). The bubble curtain is POWERFUL and is almost as good as traditional water pressure jets; though obviously if you're looking for the targeted massage factor, that isn't really here. There's a handy air pressure indicator that you install after you inflate the tub that tells you whether it's fully inflated, and also takes the place of the cap on the air valve. Nice feature. When it's fully inflated, it's actually very strong and rigid. It hasn't really lost any air pressure after having it inflated for about a month. The *only* criticism that I have is that the tub cools down fairly rapidly once you're in it and using the bubbles, since the heater just can't compete with the cold air. It goes from 104 to 100 in about 20-30 minutes. So if you're a fan of longer soaks at the higher temperatures, you have to turn the bubbles off. It's a little bit of a bummer, but it hasn't soured me on the experience. Ultimately if you can't get yourself a legit, stationary hot tub for whatever reason, this is a super viable alternative.

SOOOO glad we got the larger one
SOOOO glad we got the larger one. I went back and forth between the sizes forever. 85" is much better than 77. Definitely worth the extra $. This will sit 4 people comfortably, 6 people cross legged. The extra 8" diameter turns out to be an extra 25" circumference around the hot tub. GREAT to stretch out and relax. Can barely hear the heater. It's insanely quiet. The blower for the bubbles is louder, but not annoying. Keep in mind that a bunch of bubbles flying up through the water will make more noise anyway on ANY hot tub. The ONLY thing I would recommend is an extra sheet of insulation underneath, before filling with water. This will help the hot tub retain heat better. Ours is on a concrete patio. Extra insulation or a wood deck would make a difference. Besides that, this is a great purchase. -6 month update. Still works perfectly. Keeping ours at 102. Using it once or twice a week. One thing to add, I would HIGHLY recommend keeping the spa out of direct sunlight especially when the cover is off. Left ours out for 1 day with the cover off and it lost about 20% of the air pressure. Now we keep a plain old tarp over ours when not in use. Hasnt lost any air since that incident 4 months ago. We run heavy with the chlorine too.

Best purchase this year!
Almost a month has passed since I purchased the 6-person portable hot tub and my family loves it. Set-up took all of 10 minutes and another 30 to fill it. We were in it that evening. Now it did take the 2 degrees per hour to raise the temp to 99 degrees (which is the perfect temp for us). I did run it up to the 104 but was just too uncomfortable for long sits. I was back in forth on the 4 person on or the 6 person due to space on our screened in porch. But, I'm happy to give up a bit of porch space as 4 adults can comfortably sit in this. I do keep the system and heater running 24/7 since we use it everyday. I am however, anxious to see what this does to our electric bill but based on other reviews of similar spa's it shouldn't be too bad. The canvas cover is nice and it has a area to stuff the inflatable "plug" in it to make it all "one" piece. But I found that the inflatable "plug" fits much tighter when used separate from the canvas cover and with the tighter fit it should retain the heat much better. Be sure to purchase at-least 2 extra filters as I have been changing them out every 5 days or so. Once removed I just run them under the hose and than stick them in my dishwasher to completely clean them out. While this does come with a mini floating chlorine dispenser, it did not come with any chlorine. I purchased the Kem-Tek 2815-6 Chlorinating Tablets 1-Inch ( http://amzn.to/29HEWHy ) and use put 2 tablets in the dispenser every couple of days (based on what the test strip shows for the chlorine level). I am also using Leisure Time A Spa Bright and Clear, Quart http://amzn.to/29HF9KB and Leisure Time RENU2 Renew Non-Chlorine Shock http://amzn.to/29HG5yG and the Leisure Time Spa UP and Spa Down Two other things I purchased is a Spa Skimmer http://amzn.to/29WaGhK and a Scumbug (tm) Oil-Absorbing Sponge http://amzn.to/29JHLew Look for my reviews on each of these products which I'll be posting as time allows for a proper evaluation of each in the future. If this review has been helpful, than please click the yes button below. That way I will see that my time and efforts are worthwhile. Thanks!

Great tub for the price; make sure you buy chemicals for the water!
This thing was great for the price. When the top is on the temperature will slowly increase but when the top is off the temperature will slowly decrease. The moment you get in the tub at the max temperature of 104 Degrees Fahrenheit (which feels very nice), sadly the temperature starts to decrease because you have to remove the top to get in, obviously. They say this is a six person tub but six adults would be very cramped in this. I would say four people would fix in the 85in tub comfortably . Also if it's cold outside the bubbles on the tub will make the tub cool down fairly quickly because it pulls the cold air and blows it into the bottom of the tub cooling the water. The warmer the air the less the bubbles cool the water. Lastly don't forget to buy chemicals for the water! I went with chlorine so I got a chlorine shock (don't forget to shock the water first 280 gallons) and 1in chlorine pellets for the floater that comes with the tub itself. You should shock the water right after you fill it up so it's cold, because then you'll have to wait for the water to get warm anyway. The water might take up to 72hrs to reach max temperature by that time the chlorine levels from the shock will have evened out and it'll be safe to get in the water without it being a chemical bath. Hope this helps some of you! :) (sorry for any potential typos, I didn't re-read this ;-) )

Respect for the Control Panel - 3 years and still going
Dear, Sweet Little Control Panel, you've been such a tireless worker!. When the walls started leaking a wee bit of air in this our 3rd year, you soldiered on. When the lid allowed a gap that let FROGS invade our spa, you filtered and bubbled and heated so at least their dead little bodies were clean by the time I discovered them. ::: gag ::: When others called you lame and cranky and prone to error messages, you proudly displayed 104F most of the time. Some of your bretheren may be lemons, but not you! When you eventually fall on the field - having worked yourself to the wire - I hope to get another just like you. -Signed HappyOwnerOfEconomySpa P.S. please ask Spa Cover what his problem is with letting FROGS in? That is such a gross habit!

Better with propane powered heater!
I bought the deluxe bubble / jet version and it's impressive. But the first week I had it I noticed the spa was losing air slowly and I had to top it off with air every day. I called intex support and they shipped me a replacement tub. It arrived in less than one week. The new one works great so far. I had a great support experience from Intex. Maybe they've made some improvements. Update: living in California and running the spa 24/7 @ 104 degrees, it has been costing me upwards of $130.00 a month in electricity. I monitored it's consumption using a kill-a-watt. So I put together a propane powered water heating system and it heats the spa at about 1 degree every 2 or 3 minutes so it only takes about an hour or two to get it up to 104 and costs me pennies. I've attached some photos of it (without the propane tank inside the container). Now I just flick the switch on the front, an LED turns on, pump stars up, heater automatically fires up and the spa starts heating. Couldn't be easier. And now I don't need to run the filter all the time either. Much nicer. In case anyone is interested here is the parts list, all purchased from Amazon except for the 20lb propane and hoses I got at Home Depot all hoses are 3/4" clear so they are barely noticeable going into the spa: Eccotemp L5 Portable Tankless Water Heater Flojet 2.9 GPM Kastar LCD AC Adapter 12V 6A Bond 67635 Tank Hideaway 30 Amp 12 Volt LED ON-OFF Rocker Switch 20 lb. propane tank

Absolutely Awesome!
This is by far the best $480.00 I have ever spent. before owning this spa, I had a 300 gallon 3 person Hot Tub, with 10 jets, bubbles and a 6000 watt 220 heater. My previous hot tub was excellent, and was used almost daily. When it broke, it was going to cost hundreds to fix. The hot tub was old, so I did not want to put that much into it, so I sadly let it go. after a few months without it, I began looking around for another hot tub but did not want to spend thousands for a new one and could not find a used one worth spending money on. I then stumbled upon this spa and put days of research into it before deciding to buy it. I have only owned it for a few weeks and have used it every single day since. I was back and forth on this one versus the smaller, cheaper, 4 person Intex Spa, and I am incredibly happy I went with the larger one. This one can easily and comfortably fit 4 or 5 people and you could fit 6 if you wanted. Since it is only me and 1 or 2 other people who use this spa, I filled it higher than the max fill line by about 2 inches and it is the perfect depth. The set up of this spa was incredibly easy and I had it set up on my own within an hour. I filled the hot tub using a hose that I hooked up to the hot water outlet for my washer, and the spa was full in about an hour. (Note: I filled the tub 1 foot with cold water, then used hot). After the spa was filled, the water temperature read 60 degrees. I was somewhat skeptical still because I do live in Michigan and purchased this spa in February. I turned on the heater and in about 24 hours the temperature was up to 103, and this was with ambient outdoor air temperature of 35-40 degrees. I run the spa heater/ filter 24/7 because it is used so frequently. Ater around 30 minutes of use with the starting temp at 103, the water temperature does drop to about 98, and I expect this will not be the case in the summer when the air is warmer. As I said, I live in Michigan and it has been anywhere between 25 and 55 degrees since I got the spa. After the spa drops to around 98, we cover it and by the next day it is up to 102-104 again. As far as the bubble jets go, they are not as powerful as actual hot tub jets, but they are strong and I honestly don't really miss the actual jets of my old hot tub. All in all, this is a great hot tub, especially for people on a budget. The only drawback that I have seen so far is the heater. The heater on my old hot tub could heat 8-10 degrees per hour and keep the tub hot the whole time the tub was in use. However, that was 220 and this tub is 110, as well as the fact that this spa uses air from outside for the bubbles in the spa, so the colder the air outside the faster the spa will cool down. It does help that with this brand/model, the heater, filter, and bubble jets can and do all run at the same time. Other models that I looked at could only do one or the other. Pro's: Easy and fast set up, Extremely comfortable bottom (has padding built in), Plugs into a normal 110 outlet, Room to comfortably seat 5 people, can sit on the edge and it does not sink down; Tub seems very strong, thick, and durable, bubbles are strong, easy to maintain, filters are easy to access (easy to clean and find new ones to buy), and has a very simple control unit. Con's: No actual seats, No "real jets", takes longer to heat. I highly recommend this spa, and I will definitely purchase another one if this ever breaks. If you purchase this spa, I also recommend looking at accessories and chemicals. I have always used Bromine and that has worked very well over the years. Also, Intx offers seats that can be purchased as well as cup holders and head rests. I purchased a floating $10 light at Walmart for mine.

AWESOME - ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!
AWESOME! This was the best money I ever spent! My husband & I just finished putting it together and filling it...now just heating the water. It is EXTREMELY well made. I was pleasingly surprised how easy it was to assemble. I LOVE that It came with an "assembly CD" (of course, "I" watched it - the husband would rather just fiddle with figuring out what goes where!!!. We rent a house & our yard is small. Our back patio is only wood slats so we put 2-8ft boards of plywood on top and it worked out perfectly! I thought the price was great and because of a bad back, I said "I have to have it"! It is so much more than I expected!!!! The jets are much more powerful than I ever thought they would be. I LOVED that it comes with everything you need except for the chemicals (i.e. chlorine tabs). The floating chlorine dispenser is ALSO INCLUDED along with 2 filters! The blow-up COVER, that's included, is great quality, has straps that connect to the sides to keep it from blowing or as a safety feature so no one accidentally falls in and it is so thick & sturdy that it will keep the water nice and warm. And if we move, it moves with us! Even if I wanted a regular stationery Hot Tub (for thousands of dollars) I would still buy this one instead!

READ THIS IF YOU WANT TO USE IT DURING THE WINTER
Great cheap alternative to a fiberglass hot tub. No problems so far. Bought it almost a year ago. Tip: Inflate lid only half full of air in the summer months. The sun will expand the air in the lid and if you overfill with air, it will deform the lid. Winter use: Like the product says, it won't hold 104 degrees in the winter. Well, that's the best time to use a hot tub, right? It gets in the teens sometimes 0 degrees here in the winter. This hot tub would only hold between 99 and 101 degrees. The heater stays on constantly which rose my power bill to $260. Not ok. Not to mention the safety feature shuts the heater down after 72 hours if the heater is constantly running. So I came up with a solution to keep it at 104 degrees in the winter while dramatically lowering the power bill. I used half inch styrofoam insulation around the base of the hot tub (see pics). Duct taped it together and it looks ok. Threw a real canvas tarp over the top to help hold the heat in. The insulation stays all winter. Still easy to get in and out of. Just take the tarp and lid off and get in. I bought the insulation at Lowes for $7 a sheet. Used 3 sheets for the 85 inch hot tub. Cut them down to fit. Duct tape all edges. Not super pretty overall but if you're like me and don't make 6 figures a year, it works. Also, converted to salt water so no more chemicals. Crystal clear 24/7. Added a pool pump to filter water better. Filter pump that comes with is fairly weak.
