Where has this been all my life?
I am very happy with this usb hub. For years and years, I had to awkwardly pull out one of my camera connectors or a turbo mouse in order to transfer files to a thumb drive. Why I never investigated finding additional ports, I do not know. So, I'm not trying to do anything heavy with it; just the ease of additional ports for drives and now the new wireless keyboard that I'm typing this on. I've had it for a couple of months now and it has made my life much easier. So far, I've turned on only the first six of eight options.

Perfect fit!
I needed more USB ports and this has so far been a perfect addition for my needs. I like that you can turn on one half or both halves of the 13 ports depending on your needs. There are devices/drives I have that I don't always want on, so this helps me manage them easily without ever having to plug/unplug. I can now have several thumb drives plugged in at all times in one half and turn them on when I need them now. So far, there have been no glitches and no data loss. I like that it is self-powered, which is exactly what I wanted. I bought one for a family member as well and it solved her own usb hub issues. I'd recommend this.

It works ok.
Everything I asked to run on this, Mouse, Keyboard, USB Audio, two printers, a USB NetTalk phone router, my UPS hookup, a corded mouse, webcam, all went in without incident. Pretty remarkable, not one conflict, anywhere, one after another, perfection. Turn it on, connect a USB from the PC into the end connector of the strip. The PC will install the strip as a hub. Then, plug things into the strip one at a time, BTW. Let your PC digest and install one at a time. The Sabrent is very good at all of these and spreads the power demands of all these things out to a strip, Par Excellence'. It's great for all this, but USB data transferring is a joke, transferring is always slower than ATA or network backups, always. This strip is very, very good, but it won't fix USB data transfers. When I I try to back up through USB 2.0, that's 480 MB/S, it's slow, slow, slow, as always, right off the MOBO. I need to move a lousy 80 GB of pics and it was halfway done three hours out. When I hook the drive to the MOBO with serial ATA, it's done in 1 minute. I've resolved to get a network-based backup. They can advertise this or that transfer speed for USB, right into the MOBO-USB all they want, but outside of peripherals, for data moves, USB in general sucks. But the Sabrent can't fix that for you, it is downstream and can't fix stupid. But for all the things on our USB, it's golden.

Yes, you will eventually need this many ports!
A previous reviewer went through the whole litany, starting with why anyone would need two ports, to his evolution to this, the 13 port. That made me think I'd just get the biggest hub on earth, and have done with it. Well. Yes, hubs get much larger than this, and so does the price. I only needed one more port, and didn't need the chargers, etc. In the end, I bought the 13 port, this brand, because as we all know, the more stuff you can do, the more stuff you want to. So far, I only need the top half and have one left for miscellaneous stuff, and the whole bottom half is empty. However, twice now (in a couple of weeks), I have used two more of the ports at once. I can see filling the rest up on a permanent basis eventually. I like being able to turn on the sections separately, I thought that was silly, but I put a piece of tape (VERY LOOSELY!) over the bottom ports I don't need, to keep dust out of them, so I'm glad they're not powered and might build up heat. I'm not using the plug for power, just my computer, but it's nice to have, just in case.

Good quality, no-nonsense USB hub, great price
I wanted a USB hub that I could attached to the bottom of my desk and this seems to be the only one that has mounting holes to do so. This is a no-nonsense hub and does exactly what I needed it to do and nothing more. The first two inputs have on/off switches, which aren't totally necessary for me. The only issue I have with this hub is that the USB cable is permanently attached. I had to purchase an extension cable because I needed it to be about 6 feet from the computer. It would have been better if it used a plug-in USB cable instead of having it permanently attached.

Great for USB 2 drives and devices
A very nice USB hub. I didn't need USB 3 so this works great. You can power all or just half of it with the two push-button switches. You will need an extender if you don't want this right near what you plug it into. The power adapter is much longer than it's USB cord. I wanted a powered hub as it has several drives plugged in that need power from the port to operate. Plus with it being powered it can charge things up like tablets and phones. With the 13th plug on the end you can easily daisy chain more hubs. I like having them all in a row as it fits better in a smaller space than the ones with them side by side.

Two Magic Buttons
I thought this USB hub was broken! Half of the lights weren't lighting up. It turns out there are two buttons that control the lights. You can have all the lights on, half of them on, or have them all turned off. It plugs into the wall and into a usb port on your computer.

At 1st I rolled my eyes. How could I ever have a need to really use 13 ports?
Once I thought, why would I need something to put floppy disks in? I also wondered what ATMs were and why would anyone use them? I could go on for hours questioning just about anything. I certainly could question why I would need more than two ports on my MacBook Pro, or why I would need more than four in a USB hub. Well that question was answered when I made it to 7 usb plugs and maxed out all of my USB ports. Then I found this Sorbent 13 Port High Speed USB 2.0 hub. I now have 10 of those slots permanently filled and I routinely use two of the remains three for USB sticks of a quick backup to a portable drive. This can be daisy chained to another unit. When I saw that, I rolled my eyes. How could I ever have a need to really use 13 ports? Now that I think about it, I am worried about myself. I am already thinking it would be a really good idea to get a second one of these. After all, why would I need 26 ports? These trends are really frightening.

Good for the Value Works!!!
Just received this gem a couple of hours ago. I had the computer off and connected all my peripherals. Then I powered up the computer. I did use the electric to allow power to all units. Allow the computer to install the drivers after powering up. I have three printers connected, a USB thumb drive, iPad charging, a wireless presentation device, also connect a Black Box for my dash for driving. And I put on my Jam wireless speaker and is charging. And a wireless Bluetooth dongle. All units are working so far. I still have four units left and will connect some hard drives and thumb drives. The blue lights are nice, the connection cord is short, but i am using this on a laptop so its not a factor with me. If you find that the lights are to bright just put a dark towel over it and it helps to not see the lights. I haven't used it at night yet. One can also just turnoff one unit that's not being used. I tested the printers and printed from all three at the same time with no problems. Thumb drive worked better than when it was connected to the computer straight way. Will update in March. Update Still working after two years.
