After considering a number of options to jack a sagging corner of a poorly designed deck, including "borrowing" the hydraulic jack from my 10-ton press, I settled on this item. While not technically for jacking, it was more than up to the task of raising the corner of the deck and supporting it while we dug a hole for a poured concrete pier on which a permanent post will be installed. This jack is of quality as good as any residential jack post that I've seen. The screw is robust, and the "box" to receive the 4 x 4 is well made. Finish is good too. Packaging by Amazon was more than adequate.

This thing is solid. I used it to add some support to the basement stairs landing. I've used other support jacks/columns but this is superior quality.

Used this item to raise a sagging floor and it worked like a charm. I found it easy to use and very sturdy. Does exactly what is claimed.

Was skeptical because the base plate is wobbly. But that stops as soon as you get some weight on it. Actually it makes it easier to use in case you don't have the jack perfectly square with the ground

Does its job. Comes with decent instructions, although its use should be self-explanatory. Good feature: the screw is captive to prevent accidentally over-extending and toppling the assembly. Bad feature: Too much powder coat on the last 2" of threads causes some binding. I'd suggest on any device like this that the user fully extend the screws and apply heavy gease to the threads before use.

Great Product and price!

I bought 8 of these for a project they work well. You will need a piece of pipe to turn the handle if you have a heavy lift.

Worked perfectly to support a porch during repair and new footings

I bought two of these to shore up a farmer's porch. There is plenty of travel in the screw and base to adjust a 4x4 to the desired height. If you're using this on bare ground, I would recommend fastening a 10" piece of 2x10 pressure treated wood with lag screws to create more area to distribute the load.

No issues - brought two of these and they are the best low cost solution I could find that made me feel sure that when replacing two porch columns/post the upper balcony would not fall. My neighbor's "fix-it" guy simply pushed a single post (not attached to anything - was left there for 2-3 days) to shore up the porch roofing when replacing this two columns and then charged a grand for the work.
