Awesome and Easy To Use
Didn't like that I had to find specific instructions online for the memory card (YouTube). However, the pictures are better than my android. I'm very happy with this camera. It's easy to learn, and I'd recommend it to anyone wanting a simple, inexpensive but decent camera. I purchased from amazon warehouse deals. Supposedly it had some "scratches" on the bottom. Didn't notice those. Great deal, though!

Great, small camera
My husband and I really love our cameras. We bought one for each of us to take on vacation. They are small, lightweight, and take great pictures. The resolution of the picture is better than what you see on the viewfinder, although the viewfinder is good quality too. They are also very reasonably priced for the quality of product you get. When we are out and about, I tend to leave my camera out of the case in my bag so I can pull it out quickly and take pictures. It has been durable despite the abuse, and we've had no problem whatsoever with them.

Great quality pix
Great quality pix. Buy about 5 extra 'N' type I think batteries along with an extra charger or two and you will be able to take pix all day with power on all the time (have a 64 gig card in it never vaguely near filling it up, have taken 2200 pix in one day at various places / shows. you can mix/match pictures with high quality video. power it on connected to your PC and you can copy pix from the camera's disk drive letter that appears.

Simple, Small...Done!
I'm no expert, so this is a good camera for me. I also hate reading a lot of directions, but that was no problem. This was easy enough to figure out between a bit of reading and a few minutes on YouTube. PROS: Easy to figure out, small as a deck of cards, has a lens protector, can look up more detailed directions online (for trouble-shooting); CONS: Doesn't come with a protective case, doesn't come with a memory card, a little on the slow side -but that doesn't bother me. It took Rembrandt a lot longer.

GREAT CAMERA!
So far, I am in love with my camera. I do wish it would take night photos. Apart from this, it takes FANTASTIC shots, great, sharp, well defined on all levels. I am impressed w/how easy it is to use. I got this b/c it has a 'steady' feature which is good for me as my hands shake sometimes. This camera keeps your pics from being blurry due to that issue. I DO however, (despite loving the item) wish it were just a TAD larger b/c it's so small (which is a + for some) that my aching hands/fingers sometimes have difficulty holding it or using it as it is so slim. Otherwise, I'd give it 6 stars if I could!

Nice little camera!
Nice little camera -- [UPDATE] it does "burst pictures" but not like an SLR would - meaning there is a slight pause after each picture as it processes the picture. You have to put it into that mode. It can do video, but I didn't get it for that. Good Value. Worth the money! I do also wish, as constructive criticism, that there was an intermediate setting between VGA and 5 MP. The pictures are either too small (150k) or too large (3 GB). So I take pictures in 5 MP mode and resize them on my desktop computer. I don't need the detail like some people demand.

The best
My wife loves this camera! It is the only one she will use. She can take professional quality pictures just as good if not better than the professionals. Plus she can capture lighting bolts with the continuous shooting mode.

Great camera for the price
When I first got this camera I was wondering if I made a mistake. Yes I was looking for the impossible, an inexpensive digital camera with a fairly descent zoom and good features. Can this camera take pictures in rapid succession? No. In continuous mode it will do 3 shots at 1 FPS. Can you zoom in on the pictures and see good detail? Yes and No. Even set at 20meg the images sometimes do not bear close scrutiny if taken under low light, like indoors at night. But with enough light on the subject it takes excellent images. Did I experience a lag when taking pictures? Well yes and no. The camera takes a little getting used to. While the closest focusing distance on full wide is 5 inches, once you start to use the zoom, that close focusing distance extends out to 5 feet. So if what you want to take a picture of is within 5 feet, just keep the camera on wide and walk up to take the shot. If you can't walk up to take the picture then use the zoom. Until I figured this out I was very frustrated wondering why the camera would not lock focus on the subject. So after all of these faults why have I given this camera 5 stars. Well you get what you pay for. I have a Sony DSLR and a Sony all in one. Both cost about $1,000 at the time of purchase. Those take fantastic pictures but you can't fit them in a shirt pocket. It is unfair to compare a camera that costs a little over $100 to those. But for what I intended, this little DSC-W830 is fantastic. I get very descent shots which I view on my 27" monitor. It fits conveniently in a pocket and (once you understand the controls and get used to how it handles) takes pictures quickly and accurately enough for my needs. If I need better I get out my more expensive cameras. But for convenience and ease of use this little camera is a gem.

Bought this for a trip to south america because I broke the camera on my galaxy phone. I am not a professional photographer so I was looking for something simple and good. I would buy this if you are looking for the same thing. The photos are all made with this camera.

Nice low cost carry-along camera :)
I just got this camera today. I have been using a Canon EOS 40D for years, and I love it. However, many times it is just too big to have with me when I see a chance for a photo shoot. This camera seems to be an excellent low-cost model, with fast shots, sharp photos, and a nice range of wide angle and zoom for a little carry-along. It will take a while to get used to using the settings and finding out the capabilities of this camera, but the photos I've taken today are pretty nice. I am hopeful it will be a wonderful addition to my photo-taking life. I will post updates as I learn more about how well it does its job.
