Very nice trombone, for a good price. Slide is very well lubricated, tone quality is very bright, and looks beautiful as well.

I'm a professional trombonist (specifcally on Tenor) and I have bought this alto to use in the orchestra since i've never owned one, and I didn't want to blow 4K on an instrument I won't use all of the time. That being said, this alto is perfect for me. For less that $200 it has a beautiful sound, well working instrument, good case, BUT I don't like the mouthpiece, I bought my own that works much better for the horn. This is a great product, but professional alto trombones still sound better, this one works at the most basic level.

I am going to go out on a limb here and rate this at 5. I have heard good and bad on the Chinese horns, at the price and with a return policy I took a chance. Review time: I have played trombone professionally, I usually play bass trombone as a primary, tenor as a secondary. My money instruments have always been Bach and Yamaha, depending on the gig. So I know my way around horns. I wanted to give myself a challenge and learn Alto. I did not want to shell out a couple of thousand on a top brand. This horn fit the bill. It came in two days, well packaged. The horn was in a semi hard case with a stock tenor mouthpiece. The finish and lacquer is fine, no blemishes. The slide worked very well and I gave it a full flush and lubed both the main and tuning slide. I tried a few notes with the stock mpc. I did not like the sound, I switched to a small NY Bach 22 tenor mouthpiece and got a very nice alto trombone sound out of it. I broke out the tuner and the horn slotted well in all positions. With this horn the positions are very comparable to a Bach tenor with minor adjustments. I have been working with it for about a month. I Plan to use it in December playing the Messiah. Be warned this is not a cut down tenor or starter horn, it is in Eb. If you want to play bone go with a tenor. If you are a player and want to dabble in alto try it. Then get a book on alto exercises and excerpts. Listen to Lindbergh or Freidman to get the concept of "alto sound" .

Nice Horn. Good Price.

For the price, great. Good tone. Slide is smooth.

I told my husband we had enough trombones and he whined he had no alto. Professional models retail for thousands, but this little $300 alto is great for beginning on the alto. A bargain, but needed to buy a better mouthpiece.

Amazing value. Sounds like a nice instrument.

Excellent for start playing de instrument for the first time.
