Purchased to use on a Smithy Granite 1324 machine and ...
Purchased to use on a Smithy Granite 1324 machine and required some fabrication to make it work: 1. I purchased a 3/4” x 6” medium tool steel hex bolt from Home Depot (see 01-Standard Unmodified Bolt v Accusize Bolt.jpg) 2. The bolt was faced and turned-down to fit the Smithy and main Accusize assembly (see 02A-02C Modified Bolt pictures) 3. The bolt was heat treated to increase hardness (see 03-Heat Treated Modified Bolt (w Accusize Nut).jpg) 4. A mount plate was fabricated to provide standoff and orientation to Smithy and lock rotation-ensuring alignment of Accusize assembly. (see 04-Mount Plate.jpg) 5. Fully assembled solution (see 05A-05B Assembly pictures) IMPORTANT TO NOTE: The threads on the bolt are NOT M14 x 1.5, but rather 9/16-18 NF (the same thread type as standard size for lug nuts!) Works amazingly well- instant order of magnitude in rigidity and quality of finish- well worth the investment

Sturdy and repeatable
I ordered this for my 12 inch craftsman/atlas lathe. This post will fit if you machine the thteaded mount plate that fits the compound. The axa size would maybe worked better, but BXA does work. The quality and rigidity are excellent the locking action is smooth and positive. The tool holders are nicely ground and they have been heat treated. The knurl holder is nice in it will accept a tool bit on the opposite end. The cutoff tool is wonderful especially when compared to the lantern style post i have that would hardly part off brass or aluminum, this one handles tool steel with no problem and with no chatter. The surface finish is noticeably better boring and turning than with even the solid posts I was using. This post handles up to a 5/8" square tool or boring bar and has enough adjustment to use 1/2" and 3/8" and possibly 1/4" bits. The only tool holder i haven't tried yet is the boring bar holder. It takes up to 1" and has an adapter to 3/4". Overall the quality and finish appear excellent. The post are easy to adjust and repeatability is spot on. The rigidity is again excellent as i think the post weighs almost as much as my compound. If you have a compound that the narrow width of your Tslot in the compound is 5/8" or greater and the swing is 12" or more you can make it work. The threads for the post stud is fine thread inch, 5/8-18. This post works and works very well. The accusize mount is the real deal at a reasonable price

Not ready to go yet
Bought a 2000, year that is, Enco 13x40 gear head lathe(naked). You'll find these lathes by other names...Jet,Grizzly,Turnmaster, and such.Bought the BXA so I could use 5/8 tooling.Bigger is better I thought. Well sometimes things can be too big. Not a lot mind you, but what I ran into was I couldn't use a 5/8 tall insert holder tool because they wouldn't go down far enough to get to the centerline. Fortunately I had some 1/2'' holders from where I retired and they were right on it.Plus I am lucky enough to have a Bridgeport mill. I milled .125 off the 5/8 to get them to center. This is not an easy task even with the right machinery.Saw someone say that tool post bolt /slide was a 15-20 minute job.It comes as a blank. Don't know what he used but me and my Bridgeport took at least 2 hours. The material they use for tool holders is not just hard....It's tough. So if you don't have the machines and the knowledge be prepared to slap your ass and drag out your billfold.Just sayin. First project was to make some round stock out of square. Interrupted cuts are no never fun but the package preformed well enough to give it a 5.

Good value, highly recommended
This appears to be the same wedge type QCTP offered by other sellers (250-1XX series) and available through several machine tool suppliers. Accusize has the best price on this toolpost set at the time of this review.

Quality.
Accusize tool holder set for 10-15 inch lathe. Great Quality, great price, and works very well. When the package arrived, the handle was missing and Amazon was useless to resolve missing part issue, so I call the company headquarters in Canada, and they were very helpful. They quickly sent out the missing part. Accusize customer support was A+A+A+. So, yes I highly recommend the Accusize tools, and it's nice to know they are there to back up their product.

Best Value online anywhere
Best value on the web. Strong, well made, you cannot go wrong if you have a 9x20 or larger lathe. Not made for a mini lathe, too big.

nicely made, works great
nicely made, works great. Note center post bolt is 9/16 NF threads if you're to mount it to your lathe, you'll either have to machine the base plate that's pre threaded and provided or drill tap your mounting plate to 9/16 NF. I have a Grizzly 10x22 and was able to remove the stock mounting plate very easily and drill/tap it to the larger size. Very happy with build/finish quality and functionality.

Nicely made
It didn’t fit my baleigh mld 1030 lathe/mill. But I adapated it to work and it’s just peachy.

Great product!
Great tool post. Everything fits well and operates as expected. Be aware that you may need to replace the set screws if you use them frequently, they're made from butter-steel but won't cause issues if you set up once and forget.
