This stuff is amazing. First off
This stuff is amazing. First off, you'll be a bit weirded out by this stuff when you handle it initially, it just feels like a sheet of silicone, it's not sticky at all. So using it like you use electrical tape is a bit tricky. But boy does this stuff seal. Upon touching the strip to itself, it instantly starts bonding. In fact, you might have a hard time getting the two pieces separated after they touch. It's much different to handle than electrical tape, so I would certainly suggest doing some 'test runs' with it so you can get used to how it handles. This product is essential to just about any toolbox.

Major leak under sink fixed
I just had a major leak under the sink - the pipes had separated and couldn't be easily re- connected, need replacement. It happened just before Christmas and there was no way to get a plumber in a hurry. I used a narrower version of this tape in the past to fix a leaking water hose so I re-ordered it some time ago, accidentally in a wider version. This awesome tape bridged a ½ inch gap between metal pipes and not a drop is in a pot underneath. There was a tiny leak at first, then it got sealed completely. I couldn't believe it, but it worked. 10 days later it still holds why the plumber is taking his time back to town and into my place.

Great wrapping tape
Really works. It does stick to itself. That is why it is effective and why it can be hard to apply is awkward locations. The secret to stretch the tape as you wind around the object. It must be stretched to work. I applied it to a wet water pipe (no water pressure) and it self-welded and stopped the leak with a double wrap. A single might have done it if I could have done a smooth wrap the first time. But it was an awkward location. Do wait 24 hours to ensure it stays in one mass.

Great stuff - I keep finding new uses for the Silicone X-Treme Tape daily -- a must have for anyone who repairs things
How did I go so many years without this stuff in my shop, or in my car, or in my backpack? Every day I think of new ways to use this stuff.... for instance, today - I was filling a small spray bottle with bug repellent for my backpack, and I was concerned about the top coming unscrewed slightly causing a potential leak. Well, I pulled out my clear version of this same tape, and wrapped it around the top where it screws on, now I am confident it will hold. Yesterday, my weedeaters foam grip was cracking splitting - out comes the black Silicone tape to the rescue to provide a new grip for the handle. The day before, my tent pole plastic end cap was not staying on the pole, again, Silicone tape to the rescue. Then, when I was weedeating my lawn, I noticed my trusty outdoor electrical cord took a hit with either the weedeater or hedger, and had a couple of chunks of the outer sheathing missing. I used my Xtreme tape (in the Red color to match the cord ;-)) and it has been holding for weeks and about 4 uses, I don't see why it won't hold for a very long time. Then, my 20 year old wheelbarrow's wood handles have taken a beating from years in the weather, and they showed a lot of cracking and the wood was very rough. I usually wore gloves when carrying heavy loads with the wheelbarrow, especially since the wood handles were so rough and I worried about getting splinters. I painted the handles with some acrylic latex, and then gave them a wrap with some 1.5" of the black Xtreme tape, and it did wonders. I overlapped the Extreme tape in close windings, so it created a thicker wrap since this was a heavier duty application. I did this almost a year ago, and it has held up fine outside in the AZ heat. I don't store the wheelbarrow in the direct, and I think the UV would wreak havoc. Now I feel like I don't need gloves to use the wheelbarrow. Next, both my backpacking and camping tent poles have vinyl or plastic ends on the poles - and after time these loosen up, want to come off and worse yet get lost! Well, not only does Xtreme tape fuse the tent pole ends to the pole, it also reinforces them and makes them stronger and more durable... And then the big test - my garden hose had a pin-hole leak in it, and I applied this tape to it. The key is to make sure you extend the tape on either side of the hole by a few inches (I did three inches on each side of the hole) - and then make sure you stretch the tape very well and evenly around the hose. Also, make sure the hose is on a flat surface, and try to avoid flexing / bending the hose while taping, keep it as straight as possible. Also, give it at least two windings (not just one). It is working fine, if there are any issues I will update. You get it. This stuff is amazing. Once you wind it on itself it sticks like white on rice. Its resiliency is quite good - it is very tough and it will not come unwound unless you intentionally start to pull on the seam. Then, it will rip instead of lose its contact... it is that sticky to itself. The list goes on.... like I said, I keep finding more uses for it daily. I would say just get a roll, and keep it around. You will be amazed at the number of applications this stuff will satisfy.... an easy five star!! Thanks for reading.

This extra wide F-4 tape is amazing!
Been using this type of tape for 38 years, for electrical work, plumbing, you name it, it's awesome. I first learned of it when I was working on the F-4 Phantom jet fighter in the Air Force, thus it's common name of "F-4 Tape". The uses for this tape are countless, and only limited by your imagination. This silicon tape stretches and then sticks to itself ONLY, thereby leaving no residue what so ever. This roll is extra wide at 1.5", and can be split down the middle to make a thinner tape if needed with twice the length.

I think some type of Elvin magic is used with this stuff.
This stuff is incredible. I have used this and other colors on a few of my projects and home repairs. They have held up well. It is an amazing technology I'm still trying to understand. Absolutely no stickyness to deal with but it bonds super strong. Just make sure both parts are clean before you put them together. If they are covered in dirt it can screw things up. Just use a little common sense. I am well pleased.

Good stuff, stretch the heck out of it as applying and you will get a nice finished product.
Had the grey water PVC pipe on my camper crack at the joint. This is a non pressurized line. Was not looking forward to breaking out the hack saw, and them piecing together the new line. Like every other "honey do" project what seems like a 1 or 2 hour job would have turned into a 4-5 hour job with 3-4 trips back and forth to Home Depot. 1st I mixed some epoxy (the 2 part stuff) and coated the cracked joint and bit of surrounding area. Let this harden and then applied this tape. The thing that helped me was to cut the strip (not too long) and then counter roll the tape, then start wrapping (TIGHT!) and as you are wrapping the clear plastic rolls off. Kinda hard to conceptualize in writing but once you are sitting in front of your project you will see what I mean. Bottom line, it appears to me this stuff is KILLER and saved me hours and hours of re-piping on my RV.

Great tape.
This is not your typical tape. It is self bonding and not all that tacky until it touches another part of the tape. Read all the other reviews about the tape and you will get an idea of what it does, and even smells like. I used it to seal a squirt bottle and it worked well. I also used it to attach some plastic pieces together. It is soft, plyable, and very tacky when it touches another part of the tape. Great stuff.

Great product as an alternative to tape.
This "tape" is great. It doesn't have an adhesive side - the stretchy rubber bonds together as you wrap it. It only works on a project that requires wrapping - you can't use it as tape to bond flat services together. I use this stuff almost every day, This particular product is about twice a wide as the "normal" roll (equivalent to the width of regular electrical tape. Great stuff.

Duct Tape 2.0
this stuff is pretty amazing. i always have a roll or two on hand and give them away as xmas gifts to friends and family. i can't even recall all of the things i've fixed with this and in a vast array of situations and conditions - water, heat, electricity - no problem. this stuff would have changed the world if it was released 50 years ago. can't recommend it enough. i even wrap a little bit around the joint of my phone and laptop cords to strengthen its vulnerable point to great effect. i fixed my cracked open segway by just covering the whole brains of the board w this stuff - now its sealed up and i can still see where the on off light is due to its transparency. i've fixed harnesses and collars at the dog park. i've fixed a leaking sink. i've reenforced a vulnerable, glass French press w/ this tape and the cap of a bath and body works candle. anywhere you go in my house, you will find evidence of this tape hanging on, giving items new life and added strength.
