Replaced a workbench light that gave up working. The old light had a base that mounted with screw clamp and two screws into the top of the workbench. I wisely saved this base when I discarded the old lamp since studying the reviews and the product photos I figured that the screw clamp provided would not be adequate. If mounting on a wood table the provided clamp can have two holes drilled in the top portion to further secure it though and then the clamp tightened up from below. This gives a solid secure mounting. However I simply used the base from the old lamp which was already secured that way. Nice long articulated arm gives good coverage on a 36 inch wide work space and the head of the lamp can be brought down to within 2 inches of the work space and elevated to 24 inches from the top of the work space. The wide lamp shade easily accommodates a standard maximum 60 watt bulb and I am using a florescent bulb in mine that is a 60 watt equivalent, On off switch at the top of the lamp is superior to the inline switches that a number of other brands use. In all a good product when one addresses the base mounting issue which is an easy fix.

Great Price! This lamp is exactly what it claims to be. My only caveat would be: 1) The mechanical arm is not long. If you have a large desk or drawing table (my top is 35" x 47"), the lamp barely reaches where i need it to be, to see to work. I ended up buying a second lamp with a more typical drawing table size arm: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006HWVKO/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 On a smaller size table this would not be a problem. 2) The clamp does not have a screw for locking down the post to keep it from spinning. On a flat table this would not be a problem. or it necessitates getting a different clamp: https://www.amazon.com/Table-Holder-2Inches-Lighting-Accessory/dp/B07MXJ7DDD/ref=ya_st_pd_dx_wl_5?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07MXJ7DDD&pd_rd_r=bd1452ea-ea3a-4c19-adfb-fc8fca207169&pd_rd_w=DBdKw&pd_rd_wg=xqPty&psc=1&refRID=0406VTNH0Z1RCQJ5AR5P Otherwise i Highly Recommend this inexpensive, functional lamp

For some reason the bad reviews from 3 years ago are floating to the top when I look at this item but I'm here to tell you this is a good solid purchase! Is it possible to buy a higher quality lamp? SURE...Will it cost you 2 to 4 times as much $$? PROBABLY. If you want a very reasonably priced lamp for a desk or work space that is still fairly well made, THIS IS IT. Also, despite what some of the other reviews report, the clamp that holds on to the desk is all metal, and I think as long as you don't go crazy tightening it, it should hold up just fine. ***NOTE: Some of the reviews refer to an "extra set of springs" that comes with the lamp. Just wanted to point out these are actually the springs for the top portion of the lamp arm. They remove them for shipping so the lamp can be folded into the box.

Things are finally coming together, thanks to this amazing product. I saw this lamp at Mahan’s new place. I had not seen him for weeks. Was very busy with after graduation life. The studio, catching up with my friends and doing nothing and sleeping in. It takes me sometime to break the ice whenever there’s a gap in my relationship with my friends. This lamp and the conversation around fastened the ice-breaking process. Isn’t it the main reason we buy things? Well it is for me. But not all objects have the same impact as this amazing lamp. This lamp, with its humble body posture looking don the table, illuminates the conversation in an amazingly unexpected way. It made us to remember forgotten details of a forgotten moment in our lives. Papers, pens, inks, rulers and the hardships we went through before computers and design softwares. Stationeries. Soon to be obsolete. It all seems sweet from the distance of time and technology. We always dealt with light and lamps. I studied graphic design and Mahan did architecture. He wants to draw again. In his tiny beautiful apartment where he had just moved in after all the dramas that have no room in this review. But the lamp did make a difference to him and I quote: “I really like this lamp, it works really well. It’s cheep too”. He said. I feel more confident when drawing with this lamp. You know how sometimes you feel less like a whole? This lamp will fill the void. Thumbs up Globe Electric 56963 32!

I bought this lamp a little over a month ago. Works perfectly and a good product. However, when I moved, I accidentally broke the base, which is a hard plastic. I contacted Amazon regarding getting a replacement base. They gave me Globe Electric's phone number. After inquiring about getting just the base for my working lamp, I was advised they were sending me a NEW lamp with the base. I explained I only needed the base but, alas, I now have a new lamp and base. They would not let me pay them anything. WOW! You don't see that very often! If I could give the more than 5 stars, I surely would!.

This lamp is well-made, and extremely adjustable. It is superior functionally to any desk lamp that just sits on the desk, unless you are concerned about decor. The lamp shade is big enough to cover a standard LED bulb. If you buy a lamp with a shade that is too small, you will regret it. The clamp is metal, and is superior to the plastic clamp that comes with similar lamps. The clamp will fit a desk thickness of up to 2 1/8", and your desk needs a lip 2" wide to properly clamp it on. If your thickness is too much, or your lip too narrow, you can drill a hole (approximately 1/2"; just don't drill it too big) in your desk to fit the lamp base. Then install a large washer over the hole to keep the lamp base from digging into the desk. I have several lamps installed this way. Many desks these days have holes drilled to accommodate cables, etc., so no diff.

This lamp is perfect, the desk mount I received is very high quality, it seems as if it was changed to metal by the company which seems to be a concern that I was reading prior to purchasing but was not listed that I saw. The lamp is tall, enables you to read or do work without light directly in your eyes and is very directional with the spread of light. Combined with a new and brighter LED bulb, it really is the perfect companion for studying. I am a medical student so I spend hours at the desk reading/ being on the computer and this is one of my most used items over the past 2 weeks and I wish I had made the purchase sooner. It is very maneuverable, but with the tensioning screws you can easily lock it in place. It does not wobble or shake within its base with the use of it that I do at my desk, while writing or anything like that. Its really a great product, and its price makes it a superb purchase. No other desk light (2 others) that I have even come close in comparison.

I bought this lamp, set it up on my desk and loved it! The height was perfect, the setup was easy, it was everything I needed to have good lighting at my desk... until it broke. I came home after work to find that the lamp had fallen onto my desk and the clamp had broken in two. (see picture) I have been only using the lamp for a little over a month, 33 days to be exact... If I had been using it for several years, sure thats understandable. But a mere 33 days... If it wasn't for the broken clamp, I would have easily given this lamp 5 stars... ----- Update ------ After contacting amazon, they agreed to send me a replacement lamp as they said it was still under warranty. Will update after receiving the replacement and using it. ----- 1 Year Update ------ I've been using the replacement for over a year and I have no complaints about it! It's been working perfect. The arm still moves around smoothly and the lamp feels secure to my desk. Pretty satisfied with my purchase!

I almost gave this 4 stars because the build quality is not the best. But considering the price, it gets 5 stars for value. All the old reviews with pics of broken clamps made me nervous. Cast aluminum can break under pressure. But I think as long as you don't rachet the clamp down too hard, you'll be fine. Assembly/install was super easy, and it does exactly what I needed it to do. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a clamp-style architect lamp on a budget.

What can I say about a clamping desk lamp? Well, this one is replacing one I have had for maybe 20 years that I had to toss when the switch finally stopped switching.... I probably paid about the same amount 20 years ago and that one had a two part plastic clamping system that was not particularly sturdy and was constantly needing to be tightened. THIS lamp has a METAL clamp that seems to just absolutely HUG my desk top. It is just all around a terrific lamp for the price. I am very pleased.
