Great dexterity training for tots
We purchased this for our autistic three year old to use in his sensory bean bin. It has become one of his favorite toys and is excellent practice for dexterity and problem solving. The yellow piece specifically was an interesting tool. You push the handles to open the cups. It took him a bit to figure out how it worked, but he was interested enough to focus on the task. The scissors portion of the pack has done well on teaching him hand placement although I think it would not have worked as well if he was left handed. The tweezers were quickly lost as they didn't work well with the beans we were using it for, but they did work well with picking up paper. The eye dropper is probably his favorite out of the lot. It goes in the tub with him, when he washes his hands, and when he's at his water table. It does not seal, so the water drips out the tip after its sucked in, so there is no walking about with water in it, but there were no issues with the bulb portion. These were all very durable plastic and have held up to months of usage. The colors are bright and interesting. It has made a great addition to our therapy training.

Get for younger kids too
I got this for my one year old. He can use the tweezers, pincher tongs, and dropper after two months of playing with them. The scissor tongs are too big for his hands still, but he’s able to open and close them using both hands on the handles. I use them with dry noodles, dry rice, water, or wooden beads that fit perfectly inside the pincher tongs. He loves to move items from one cup or bowl to another.

All Ages: Gets Played with again and again!
Learning Resources never disappoints! These little tools are just awesome. Perfect for little hands to manipulate, fun to use and great for strengthening fine motor skills. My 1yo got these on his 1st birthday. We just bought another pair 2 years later for a sensory bin at a birthday party. My now 3yo and 6yo play with these things constantly- fine motor, sensory play, pretend play (science center!), and whatever other backyard games they make up. This is what a toy should be. Truly a great purchase!

The boys are picking up everything with these
My Grandboys Mama had been talking with other Moms about helping the boys have more dexterity. One of them said she had been told to get cotton balls and tongs and have the children do a game of pick up. I saw these and thought that game might be more fun with these. The boys now tell their Mother they want to play pick up. The the dropper is a hit at bath time.

These are GREAT!
Used these with a 3 year old class and gave them cotton balls, a little colored water and let them explore. One time they told me they need more water and I showed them how to squeeze water out of the cotton balls. They didn't know it but they were learning about absorption in a very fun way. The twisty eyedropper as well as the gator grips were great. Used the ball scoopers in the sensory table with golf balls and ping-pong balls. The two year olds were fascinated that the balls that fit inside the scoopers very nicely. A great set.

and I am so glad that I did
My two year old son loves playing in sensory bins, and I've been eyeing this set for a while. I finally caved and bought it, and I am so glad that I did! He loves the big scooper to pick up play apples and oats in his current fall bin. He is very interested in the pipette, and so I've been researching different activities to use it with. Watercolors! Why hadn't I thought of that before!? The tweezers are fun and I can seee him concentrating when he picks up smaller objects. There are so many possibilities with this set. The plastic does seem a bit thin on some of the tools, but I don't see it breaking unless we have an accident or he gets rough. I also love the colors on them. So far, the Learning Resources brand has been 100% amazing for toddler play. I'm hooked!

Great with water beads!
I purchased these for my son for Christmas to go with his water beads. There were perfect. He learned how to use the different utensils quickly. The tweezers were difficult to use with the water beads. We ended up using the tweezers with kinetic rocks...still not the intended use, but he found it fun so we went with it. We've played with these utensils for hours with water beads and kinetic rock and kinetic sand. I highly recommend for toddlers.

Super cute set for water or water bead play!
Purchased this set along with a set of water beads. They have been a great little tool set to use with the water beads in a big plastic bucket-makes for hours of wonderful manipulative play for my toddler and 7 year old! We always play with buckets of water and dish soap, but this has upped our game and is slightly less messy with water beads (though, the beads do start to break apart into small pieces after a while/after being played with).

A wonderful set of tools for toddlers and preschoolers to improve visual perception and fine motor skills!
I love the variety of tools that are perfect for toddlers and preschoolers! I do a lot of activities with my toddler and one way to increase the difficulty or to get a new wave of excitement is when I let my daughter work with one of these tools. She loves using them and she doesn't even realise that she is often working on her fine motor skills and visual perception here. I can see us using this for many years and I am so happy that I stumbled upon this product. We use the yellow tool to transfer pom poms, counting bears etc. The green tool is perfect for having your child learn the motion required to use scissors later on. The dropper tool is fun to have a younger child transfer water from one bowl to another. An older child can use this to learn about color mixing by transferring two different colors and seeing what the mix of colors becomes. This is a great open ended tool that I am glad that I added to my after school kids activity tools.
