So UPS delivered this to me earlier today. I've been looking for an acoustic bass for a couple of years now. But usually the cheap ones suck, and the really good ones are ridiculously expensive. So I've been doing my research, and finally came across this one. I know it came out not that long ago. I must say I'm not a fan of Ibanez acoustic basses or guitars. My experience with them has been poor. Tone and feel wise. But this one has left me in awe. I think the mahogany and not having the thick gloss finish helps so much. It sounds so warm. Not so much of the string screeching sound, which is always an issue with acoustic basses. Right out of the box it was amazing. You can even slap/pluck. And don't get me started on plugging it in. The sound is so....The only way I can explain it is by calling the tone yummy. I've seen some reviews about the pickup now working well. I guess they received a bad one, because this one is superb. Btw a tip on how to really get a great sound on the onboard EQ...Bass at 9 or 10 o'clock, Treble at 11 or 12 o'clock, Volume at what may be best for the situation. Oh btw I've also seen bad things about the built-in tuner. Mine works perfectly. Over all I basically love this thing. It's not the best, but for this price, it's perfect. I don't regret it, and am a very satisfied customer. And dare I say it feels and sounds better than most acoustic basses I've played over the years, by some top brands in the $1,000.00 and over range. So if you are in the market for an inexpensive awesome acoustic bass...I highly recommend this :) P.S. It came with a 9V battery already installed, and they even give you an Allen's wrench for the truss rod, and an extra saddle for the bridge. How Awesome is that? Talk about great useful treats for your customers. Kudos to Ibanez.

I've tried three total acoustic electric bass guitars in this price range, and this one is the best by far. The craftsmanship is excellent for the price. You may need to adjust the action a bit, but that is to be expected. The built-in tuner works just fine for me, and the sound is top-notch; I actually like the sound better when it's amplified. Very content and very pleased thus far.

Yeah, this thing is worth way more than what they're selling it for. When does that ever happen?? Omg.. thank you Ibanez!

I freaking love this bass. At this price point, or even at 2-3 times this price, it can’t be beat! I’ve always had a problem with most acoustic basses. It’s a great idea, but in actual usage, many acoustic basses struggle to output enough volume as well as a tight, focused sound. This guitar does both beautifully. If you’re looking for a really good acoustic bass for under $800, get this baby and use the extra for a Behringer Ultra Bass Head and a decent 15”cab. You won’t regret it!

Wow! Bass came with an onboard tuner, D'addario strings, and sounds amazing! A must buy!

Bought it for my husband & the frets were super sharp so I contacted the seller & told them my problem & they resent one that was absolutely perfect that my husband now loves!!!!!

This is such a great instrument for the price. I play it all the time! It's great that it has the built in tuner and I love having the option to plug in to an amp. There's something about an acoustic bass that makes the notes feel so much richer. It's a great playing experience and I've been really pleased with the quality.

It has a beautiful sound, very much an acoustic bass for fans of the sound Alice In Chains gives with their acoustic bass. I will say that if aesthetics are important to you, the bass looks slightly different than the picture, as there is no wood pattern on mine, but rather a solid dark brown color. I still love the look of this bass, it doesn't have that cheap glossy finish other Dean or Ibanez acoustic basses have in this price range.

Im amazed by the quality of the bass, definetly value for the money, im very picky and soent a while choosing amongst other basses but this is the best by far (if youre buying from amazon) the wood colour is a bit lighter than it shows but im more than satisfied, love it!

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this instrument given the price. I am a guitar player and have only played a few electric bass's in the past, I purchased this to use for adding bass tracks on recordings, it works well through a DI box into my mixer and recorded cleanly with a nice full bottom using Audacity. Acoustically it is rather quiet but fine for playing at home, I'm not sure if it would keep up with a dreadnought acoustic guitar in a jamming situation without an amp. The sound is woody similar to a stand up bass but does not quite have the depth you get from an upright. All things considered it's a nice instrument at this price point. Mine came pretty well setup in terms of action. The open pore mahogany is not something I have even seen on a guitar before but it has a nice look and feel. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a practice or learning instrument, or when amplified for group sessions.
