You don't have to be a musician to want one of these.
This is the fourth one of these keyboard benches that I have purchased and I am not a musician. I have one in front of my sewing machine cabinet, another in front of my living room computer, one in my laundry room so I can sit while I sort laundry and one I carry in the trunk of my car. The one in my car started when my daughter was taking martial arts and the observation benches would fill up quickly. The bench has three height positions that are easy to change. The bench folds up and sets up quickly and it is strong and comfortable.

Solid firm padding
Solid as a rock. Would've been happier with something half as solid, so I am confused as to why some people received poor units. The padding is very firm, not soft, which I prefer. I have zero wobble placing this on a carpet for guitar playing. It most definitely isnt a true Yamaha product as it even states on the bottom it is made in China, but for the price this is exactly what I needed to have a solid black professional bench in front of my rig instead of a kitchen chair.

Well Made Comfortable Piano or Keyboard Bench
This is a great little piano bench. It can be adjusted for height. It is well padded and comfortable. It is sturdy and well built. I purchased it to use with my new Yamaha Keyboard. It is small and light enough that it can be easily moved around and when I was working on a project in the garage and needed something to sit on I used it there as well. I did have a little problem figuring out how to assemble it correctly when I first got it, but I didn't feel that should discourage anyone from purchasing it. Just take your time and think it through.

Very good bench.
We bought a piano that came with this bench as part of a package deal. I figured we wouldn't get much in the way of a bench, but we wanted the piano, so held off on purchasing another bench. I am so glad we did. The seat is thick and comfortable. It's very adjustable. You do not have to put it together, it comes completely assembled. My 8 year old, who is not a tall 8, uses this seat and can reach his keyboard perfectly. We have to put something under his feet, but we were more concerned about height than feet. He is a squirmer, even when he's playing, and this doesn't topple over or become unsteady.

PKBB1 is a Great Bench
Even though there are some pretty negative reviews on this Padded Keyboard bench, I find it to be an exceptional value and quality. And yes, it is made in China. Which most things are now. But it doesn't distract from the quality of this bench whatsoever. It's very sturdy. I weigh right at 190lbs, and it supports me easily. The padding is thick and very firm. The seat adjust to three different height settings. And quite easily. No assembly is required either other than when you take it out of the box, one side of the legs are made to fold up. There are two adjustable screws that tighten holding the legs firmly in place. And once tightened, they aren't coming loose unless you unscrew the tightening bolts to fold the bench up for portability. The seat measures 17" x 12". I use a standard adjustable Keyboard stand, and this Bench works perfectly in both height and comfort. I have no problem at all giving this a 5 star rating for overall quality and value.

For those of you worried about the lack of "Yamaha" brand name on the box/product
Very good bench. Comfortable and well styled, in good condition, small and streamlined, but not too small. After receiving the product I was worried that it wasn't a true Yamaha product, but rather a knock-off, based off the lack of brand name presence on both the product itself and the box it came in. Further investigation into reviews exacerbated my worries as others had the same worries and experience. I wrote Yamaha at their website support address to inquire about the validity of the product, PKBB1, sold on Amazon. Here is the response from Yamaha support that has quelled my worries: Hello Michael, Yes, the PKBB1 is the correct model for the Yamaha bench and it is normal for neither the product nor the box to not have any Yamaha logo on it. See link to yamaha site below: ***** (Link excluded as per Amazon review guidelines) Let me know if you have any further questions. Best Regards, The Yamaha Support Team

Closed cell foam was a pleasant surprise!
I was skeptical about buying this keyboard bench sight unseen. I expected a cheap foam pad like so many other products that might as well not even have a pad. To my surprise, this bench uses a closed cell foam pad and actually functions as a pad. The 300-pound weight limit is a bonus! I think this bench is an excellent value and I highly recommend it!

PKBB1 is a comfortable and well made keyboard bench!
I have received it last week promptly after I have ordered it. I used it with my keyboard daily approximately close to an hour each time. Although it is made in China, it is sturdy and well made. The pad is 12x17; it’s thick, firm and comfortable. The seat adjusts to 3 different height settings. Be sure to try out and choose the height setting that is comfortable for you. It is also foldable for storage and lightweight to move it around if you need to. The simple instructions are on the back of the box. I highly recommend it.

Excellent chair
I've had this chair for over two years. I love it so much that I got rid of my regular computer desk chair and simply use this one. Granted, my keyboard is connected to my desk so it makes sense, but I love it regardless.

Very sturdy. I thought it would be too tippy for my antsy 6 and 9 year old boys, but is quite sure footed and they have not had a problem.
