BE GONE DRY MOSS!

Bought 1 dark green and 2 light green with the light greens being dry and brittle. What I did to combat this issue was misted them with a fine spray bottle. TA-DA! Now they’re all soft and they’re no longer as flat as they were in shipping. Few things you do have to take caution with is if you do plan on misting them make sure they’re evenly spread out, don’t touch them while moist unless you want to get your hands with dye, make sure they’re not on anything you want the Dye coloring to get onto and lastly make sure they’re not in hot/warm and dry environment. Otherwise they’ll return into the same state of dry and brittleness. All they really needed was rehydration!

Color is beautiful and true to description

Color is beautiful and true to description. I was made nervous by some negative reviews regarding brown moss and sticks; however, neither of these were in the package that I received. Unable to speak to value for money, as I have not shopped for this outside of Amazon. I am happy with my purchase and highly recommend.

Was a hit!

Bought this and some other craft supplies for my niece’s school project. She loved it! Very nice quality and looks really really good! She went crazy with it and still didnt use it all! Now she is dreaming up more crafts to make! yay!

I highly recommend buying this box if you plan to take on a moss wall or something bigger than what a 16x16 canvas can cover. Was happy with the quality of this product. I utilized this moss in my moss wall in my salon!

Soft moss, went a long way

I bought this to complete 25 wedding centerpieces that had red manzanita branches cemented into satin gold wooden boxes that measured 5.75"x5.75". To conceal the cement, we hot glued the moss on the cement. The preserved moss withstood the hot glue, was easy to blend seamlessly to each other, and was easy to trim. About smell: it smelled like fresh dug dirt- very earthy. It felt soft and fresh even though it was preserved- so soft I was tempted to glue it on my pillows. The bright green color was consistent throughout and really looked great with the satin gold wood and dark red branches with white flowers. Be warned there are small sharp twigs caught in the moss that could possibly become splinters in your hand. But there is so much moss to go around! Do not be fooled by the weight! After 25 centerpieces, we have a little less than half the box still remaining. 6 months later: I wanted to add to my initial review. It has been over 6 months since I made the center pieces (a success, btw). We saved a few of the centerpieces, and the moss has dried out, though still remains puffy looking. I noticed that the moss that was in very sunny rooms actually turned slightly yellower. I tried misting it with water, which rehydrated the moss, however I cannot say with certainty that the color will be fully restored.

I wanted to make something for a business using their logo and decided this was what I was looking for. The moss was easy to use and soft. It wasn't exactly clean, but it was easy to pick the bits out and since it is a relatively natural product, the bits were to be expected. It did dry out and get hard on a low humidity day, but when the humidity came back it was very soft again. I'm sure a spritz of water will remedy this in the future. (I live in a desert, it WILL get dry again.) My one complaint, which is partly my fault, was that the bags don't all match. I bought several bags the first time and ran out and then bought several more. You can probably see in the pictures a 1/4 of the picture is lighter than the other portion. In person it's far less noticeable thank goodness, and I'll probably be the only one that really knows unless I point it out. But just as a warning - purchase enough to complete the project, or make sure you do it randomly enough that if you purchase more, it won't be such a stark difference. I'll make sure this doesn't happen again if I make more. I'll buy more from here again.

Great product!

Great product!!! Project I needed the moss for turned out fantastic. Shipping time was in line with what was stated at purchase. This project used 2 3lb bags of loss, one of each color. The frames are a combination of 2’x4’ pieces of plywood cut so the biggest is a full 2’x4’

Gives a forestry feel to your potted plants

I used to buy this locally at my hardware store's garden center but it went out of business so I turned to Amazon. It was $6 cheaper than at the store. I use it on top of my planters to cover the soil and it gives such a pretty look to my pots. It is dyed so when I water I notice yellow green water running out the pots but It hasn't hurt my plants. Over time it does fade to a pale green and being natural, it does break down and needs to be replaced. I'd say twice a year is good. Its a good sized bag and enough to cover the tops of 10, 6" pots twice a year.
