This is an outstanding medium for stag horn ferns. I had to order a second bale to complete my project and means yes I like it well enough to purchase it again. Soaking it for about an hour before using helps and it does expand quite a bit. If I need more I will buy this product AGAIN. Oh, I soak the moss in a solution of fish emulsion before and then repot.

This stuff smells amazing first if all! Second, I use this as a moist substrate in 39 leopard gecko vivs as well as other various lizard homes. The best thing about this is that it is long strings in thick chunks, it's a nice cream color, it stays wet for up to 10 days, it's very mild resistant and hold the warmth well. I give chunks of this moss out to everyone who buys baby geckos from us to use at home in their new geckos' moist hides. It doesn't have to be changed as often as the green pet store miss and is easily rinsed. It also doesn't turn into a gross sludge pile when it sits for long periods of time in water. Highly recommended!

I filled up a bucket with water and dumped several handfulls of this into it. Then I stuffed my topiary form with it. Lastly, I've attached some succulents to the outside of the form. It seems to be working well, so I think this is a perfect product for topiary use.

i have a bad habit of looking at product dimensions, so this was way more than i actually needed, but for the price, it was hard to say no. the moss itself feels soft and absorbs water really well. i "rescued" my grandma's orchid after she potted it in soil, and it lost a lot of roots, but this seems to keep the roots wet longer. i can even see some moisture on the side of my container which is a good sign, and exactly what i wanted. it also prevents me from having to water every other day due to the dry fall air here in ND. great product.

The VERY BEST spagnum moss I've ever bought. I like another one best until I tried this. Long fiber, no socks or rocks or other gunk. Even tho this is compressed, it is super easy to pull off what you need because of the way it is packed into bales. I truly love this moss and so do my plants. The picture has some Veemiculite and four in it because I am starting to noir up some carnivore soil, but this mostly shows the moss.

I use it for orchids mixed 50/50 with small sized bark chips and the results have been better than using either alone. I use hydroponic vegetative fertilizer 1/2strength monthly for 9 months and bloom fertilizer for 3, starting about a month before I want them to bloom. Soak the moss and the chips in a diluted nutrient solution before planting.

This is the best quality sphagnum I've ever seen on the market. I use it for growing orchids, and the orchids love it.

This stuff is all right. It's moss all right, but not as much as I wanted for the price that I had to pay. It still will last me a LONG time though. This is the best price for the amount that I could find on Amazon. I use this moss to fill humid hides for my snakes, it's great. The slight antifungal properties of sphagnum moss is amazing.

Order arrived at the stated date. I was surprised at how small the mini bale was, however it was dried and shrunk, and it turned out to be a decent size when hydrated. I had plenty to complete my project, and a lot left for further planting’s. Good sized strands, which was exactly what I needed. Cost was less than our local nursery.

This is prefect for use as a potting substrate for orchids and carnivorous plants (and really any epiphytes) and is also a great water-retentive soil additive, as well as cutting medium.
