Good for Estimating Weights on Shipping

Use it for weighing items between 5 and 50 pounds. It seems to give a reasonably good estimate, but must remember that it may be +/- 2-3% at times so that a final weighing by shipper may vary. This is not a laboratory scale. I always add a little just be be certain. It is a small plate but I have put 18" and 24" boxes weighing 40-55 lbs with no problem. The only issue is the charger cord is short. I have used the battery version a great deal and that seems to work quite well. Also as with any such scales you must have it on a level solid flat surface. Otherwise measurements will be in error. So far so good, for the price and usage target.

This scale is SUCH an essential tool for online sellers, ESPECIALLY for Beginners like me! As an online retail and resale seller, this scale is extremely essential to me. After using it within the first week of receiving it, I have found that Smart Weigh Digital Shipping's most notable - as well as my favorite features are: 1) ACCURACY! Just what I needed

Weighs stuff 6 ways til Sunday by decimals or ounces or whatever you might need. Fires up quick, holds Tare weight and I can add material while it keeps track of the total weight until it's exactly what I want. Note that I am not weighing stuff all day long so that Auto-Off is fine for me. I have also checked it a bit with known weights and it seems very accurate. NOTE that I paid $30- for this, it is currently showing for $96- and I wouldn't pay anywhere close to that for what I need.

Who knew this would be so convenient

This is really handy for occasional shippers like myself. I'm not a regular professional shipper, so I can't speak to the durability, but this is super convenient for occasional use. I love the design that has the scale separate from the controls. I can leave the scale on a work area and just mount the controls nearby. Since I use only on occasion, I keep the plastic battery in usually to not drain or corrode the connections. But I imagine it should work just fine without going this far. It also has an ac adapter to leave plugged in for more regular users. I've used it for a few ebay sales as well as some unexpectedly thick letters to mail. I also use it to weigh lots of other random things like backpacking equipment to shave grams off my load. Really handy product. No more using the imprecise bathroom scale for small weight items. It's always in my garage near all of the things I want to weigh. It's big enough for cubic foot packages and more if you really need to, but really meant for precise smaller weight measuring.

Great Scale

I have bought several other scales for shipping and this one is by far the best. The platform is a nice size and fits the majority of boxes (oversized boxes are a little trickier but it still works for them). I love the fact that the display has the cord so it's not underneath the box where you can't see it. It is also convenient because you have a number of options with how the weight displays. You can set it to say 4LBS 4 OZ or you can have it calculate it out so it says 4.25lbs which saves a step in shipping. None of the ones that I had in the past had this option. It is also nice to have the battery option instead of corded only. I can set it out anywhere and don't have to lift up heavier boxes onto a counter top. I've had it for a couple of months and it seems like it will be pretty durable and hopefully last for a while.

Perfect so far

Consistently accurate so far, convenient and easy to use. I rely on reviews to help make decisions and I write them to help others, but I am dismayed by the critical reviews that seem unwarranted. Because of a few scary reviews on these scales that otherwise have mostly great reviews, I bought this and another similarly priced scale to make my own comparisons. To get a baseline, I weighed my iPhone at the local Post Office, then weighed it on this and the other scale I bought and they both provided the exact same weight. Then I weighed some of my auto parts (because I'm a car guy) including wheels, power steering components, and water pumps, all of which resulted in consistent results. I prefer this scale over the other one because its remote makes it easier when weighing large bulky items and this one has a higher maximum weight without sacrificing accuracy. As for the poor reviews, time will tell, but I do know that gravity weight literally changes slightly by location and altitude (http://news.sciencemag.org/2012/03/scienceshot-garden-gnome-tests-earths-gravity) and scales are affected by temperature changes.

This is a right handy scale

I was pleasantly surprised when I began to use this shipping scale. It has a separate detachable display that has large numerals that are easy for old eyes to read. It uses batteries which means it can be placed on any flat surface such as the floor for convenient weighing, but it also has an AC power supply for fixed locations. So far, the accuracy matches that of the local post office scales, and that bolsters my confidence in buying postage for shipping. It weighs up to 110# (haven't tested that yet) and as little as 0.1 oz. This is a good buy.

Hands Down the Best Mid Line Scale for mail / Ebay

I wanted to buy a scale to save money on shipping through Ebay. I read reviews and chose this one. Boy am I glad I did as this scale is awesome. It can handle a 1oz up to 110lb. Is very well built and is ready to use right out of the box. Can use 2 batteries that are included or plug into the wall. What else is needed. I saved enough shipping through Ebay this weekend that I already covered the cost of this. Wish I did this sooner.

Extended display is a game changer!

We send lots of large shipments and the extended display has made all the difference. Before, we used a scale with the attached display and the boxes would be so big we had a hard time seeing the weight. So we'd have to move it and balance it and guess the actual weight since we had to touch the box and make shift things to hold it on the scale. We don't have up the display but just the fact that it can extend and move, we can just move the display around and see it! I would not recommend any other scale after using this one. It's helped us tremendously and we love it!
