I've been using this for years and prefer it over Mobile One. No sludge like Mobile One creates over time, so the crankcase stays clean. Not a better price delivered anywhere else online or local retail.

Just switch from Mobile1 to Castrol Edge in my 08 Ranger. Forgot that the manual wanted 5w-20 but I fond this out in a forum. The main reason 5W-20 was specified for your engine is to increase the CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) reported to the Federal Government. CAFE is the combined average fuel economy of all of a vehicle manufacturers product line. Minimum CAFE levels are specified by the Federal Government. In order for a vehicle manufacturer to continue selling profitable large trucks and SUV's, which typically have poor fuel mileage ratings, as compared to smaller cars, and still meet mandated CAFE requirements, they must also sell enough of the smaller cars which have much better fuel economy ratings to offset the poor fuel economy ratings of the larger vehicles. For model year 2001, the change to a 5W-20 oil will allow Ford and Honda's overall CAFE to increase by a very small amount, typically in the tenths of a mile per gallon range. 5W-20 oil is a lighter viscosity than a 5W-30 oil and therefore has less internal engine frictional losses, or less drag on the crankshaft, pistons and valvetrain, which in turn promotes increased fuel economy. This increased fuel economy is virtually undetectable to the average motorist without the use of specialized engine monitoring and testing equipment under strictly controlled test track driving when compared to a 5W-30, 10W-30 or a 0W-30 viscosity motor oil. Since I got a good deal on the oil and have not noticed any difference I'll probably stick with Castrol. Honestly, they all spend millions of dollars testing and refining their oils. So I believe it is like sex, it is never bad unless you really mess it up!

Change your own Full Synthetic oil for ~ $23 for 5 quart container, rather than paying Oil change service $80 - $100 for same oil. This 5 quart container is same price as WM store, and using my Prime benefits, I didn't even need to leave home to purchase/receive the oil! Add the $8 filter using same Amz Prime shipment and your ready to change your oil! Just put down an old blanket or drop cloth under car to protect driveway from a spill, and get a large ~ 10 quart oil pan to catch the old oil. I use a set of portable steel ramps in my driveway, because it's much quicker & safer than jacking up the car; just remember to use the emergency brake when you park on the ramps. Many local auto parts businesses are happy to accept your old spent oil (just put it in your new empty container & drop-off at their store after completing your change); because they recollect and SELL the old oil to reclaim companies who filter it, recycle & resell the oil as #2 grade heating oil.

Very fast delivery and exactly as specified.

Castrol oil. What more needs to be said? The best oil for decades now! I've been using Castrol since I was a teenager racing my buddies for full tanks of gas in the '70s and early '80s. Shipping fine. Product as described.

In my opinion, Castrol Edge is one of the best motor oils available. This meets the ILSAC GF-5 and DEXOS ratings that my vehicles require, and the price could not be beat by any local stores, even those who claim to have the best prices...

I use this oil in my 2010 MINI Cooper base hardtop. I've been running this particular oil for the last two years and have had no complaints at all. Combined with a quality filter I have no reservations running this to the full service interval recommended by MINI. I'll keep running this because it's cost effective and meets all the standards recommended by MINI.

I'm in the process of testing Mobile 1 vs Castrol in my V6 Malibu. I notice that when I start my vehicle with the Castol I don't hear the lifters as much as I did when I was using Mobile 1 or Royal Purple. I'm not knocking Mobile 1 I feel its done well for me (used it last winter and summer through three changes). I have started using Castrol this fall/winter with 70 degree F mornings and 15 degree F mornings so far the lifter tapping has been reduced significantly.

Best ever made engine oil for my vehicle even the company of my vehicle recommends Castrol... More than that amazon offers best price...

Once upon a time, my car (which I inherited at 120,000 miles) had a significant amount of piston slap during a cold start. After it warmed up, it would go away. I figured it would be an interesting experiment to switch to synthetic oil to see what the hype was about and if it really made a difference in engine longevity, especially now that my engine was "getting on in its days". I got some of this Castrol 5w30 full synthetic purely because BMW and Triumph motorcycles use it as their factory fill. Maybe Castrol pays them to be the factory fill, but hey, if the engineers are happy with it, I'm sure it'll be okay. After the first cold start, I immediately noticed that the piston slap would go away by the end of the driveway, rather than most of the way to my destination. I figured that was a good thing. Oil is slipperier when cold, does a better job lubricating when cold, engine has less wear on cold starts. Brilliant. One day, my friend told me that "all synthetics are the same" so long as they pass the same API certifications, etc. and you should just buy the cheapest one at the time. I found some oil from a company that starts with "valv" and ends with an "e", and it was the cheapest, so I got that. Piston slap came back. Mind you, it wasn't as bad as when I was using dinosaur oil, but it was definitely worse again. After a very short 3,000 miles, I switched back to this Castrol synthetic, and the engine doesn't slap at all when cold, the valves are quieter, it's just generally happy! This Castrol oil seems to like to "stick" to surfaces in the engine, so that even after a weekend sitting in the driveway, come a cold Monday morning, the oil will still be on the metal surfaces to lubricate it even during initial startup. I'll definitely be buying Castrol for a very long time.
