Best Shorts I Own
I purchase these for use as work shorts and they get a serious beating. I own 5 total and wear them 5+ days of the week year round in often harsh environments and even my oldest ones (aside from glue and paint stains) are still in great condition. Despite being worn outdoors in Florida they have hardly faded at all. Also I must have snagged the belt loops on them a million times without ripping a single one. My favorite part of them is the "cell phone" pocket on the right leg. I have never put my phone in it since I'm sure the phone would fall out, but its the perfect size for a 16oz water bottle which is a lifesaver working outdoors year round.

Best all around work shorts Ive ever owned.
I bought 2 pair of these shorts 3+ years ago, and I've put them through daily hard use. Both pairs still hold up and I'm working in a pair right now. I run a pressure washing company, and these things can hold up to the harshest chemicals I've thrown at them. I've burnt and cut holes in them, and the holes don't rip. The main clasp (where the button is on other shorts) got a little loose after a few years and I just squeezed it together with some pliers, and it's as strong as the day I bought them. The pockets have held nails, screws, razor blades, you name it, and there's not a hole in them. I'm a welder, and these things are pretty resistant to slag and sparks and dont burn through easily.I couldn't recommend these shorts highly enough, and the only reason I need more is because these are covered in paint and I look like a slob when I bid on jobs.

but after the first day I decided they were great and ordered 4 more pairs
I am an auto mechanic, and I ordered these shorts to wear in the shop during the summer months. Initially I ordered one pair to try them out, but after the first day I decided they were great and ordered 4 more pairs. The material is sturdy while also keeping you cool. My only complaint would be the length. They go down just past my knees. However, I cannot blame the product for this because it is clearly stated in the description and I knew they would be slightly longer than I prefer before buying. Regardless, this is an inexpensive, high quality pair of shorts.

Classic shorts
I just realized my last pair (same size, same color) was bought over 5 years ago. They may be a little out of style, but when a piece of clothing lasts 5 years of being a mechanic, don't settle for less. Serious, I wear these twice a week, 10 months of the year. They are my go-to on weekends and outings. I wash them every 1-2 days of wear, and the old pair was awesome. 5 stars just for a $35 pair of shorts (back then) lasting longer than any pair of slacks or jeans I own. My current gripe: These are outta style homie. They're big, like 99 JNCO's big. They waist is small. I am a 38 waist in all my other jeans, and a 40 in dickies. They also have very small belt loops, so you'll have to forgo the studded belt. (yes, I still have mine) So yes, they have a quirky fit, but they feel amazing. This actual pair had a horrible smell from the starch or something; a few washes or campfires will take care of that. The cell pocket is still gigantic, and my favorite of any of the 'cell-pocket' on clothing. The color on the Navy is very accurate to the picture too. So ya, I'll keep wearing them just cause I'd rather only buy clothes every half-century. But I'll wear these like basketball shorts: only when I ain't out to impress anybody, and necessity must trump style.

measure yourself first
Here's the deal....when you buy shorts or jeans from say Old Navy, Levi's, Wrangler, etc. they are not sized true to size. They are sized to make you feel better about yourself, not the actual size of your waste. For example, I wear Old Navy "loose" jeans in a size 34"x34". I'm an averaged sized, athletic built guy. HOWEVER, my true measurements are a 38" waste and a 32" inseam. This is how Dickies, Carhartt, and most dresswear(dress pants) are sized...by your ACTUAL SIZE, not the fabricated size most popular companies use to sell everyday fashion clothes. When you buy jeans that are a 34"x34", it makes you feel thin and tall....when you buy pants true to size(like Dickies, Carhartt, etc.) that are 38"x32" in doesn't "feel" as good to say you wear a 38x32 instead of a 34x34. See what most clothing companies are doing here?....making you feel good right? It works...marketing. So, by taking my ACTUAL WASTE SIZE (38), and using that measurement to buy my Dickies and Carhartt shorts that are sized PROPERLY, they fit perfect...imagine that! Bingo...the secret fashion clothing companies don't tell you. Suprprise, you're not a 34, you're really a 38! Measure yourself....guarantee your waste is about 4 inches bigger than your "X" brand jeans say it is. Oh yeah...review of the product. Dickies shorts are great for work and play...look good and tough as nails. Highly recommend. 11" shorts hit me about the knee standing, and come above the knee sitting. These 13" shorts are slightly below the knee standing, and at the knee to partially covering the knee sitting. Hope my sizing info helps others! Buy your actual waste size(measure it with a flexible tape) and I guarantee they will fit properly. This is usually going to be roughly 4 inches bigger than what you think you wear, but at least 2.

Comfortable and durable work clothes.
Shipped fast and are exactly as advertised. Dickies shorts and pants are great for everything I do around the house. As and avid DIY guy, I am always working on my cars, motorcycles, welding, grinding, woodworking, and doing house projects and remodel stuff. These are all I wear as they are durable and comfortable and add protection. Nothing screams proud blue collar like that sewn in dickies patch!

great shorts
as a man that doesn't like to do a lot of shopping these shorts are great because they last a very long time. however i can't say the same for the package that it came in. it was completely wrecked and looked as if someone had already opened it then Ace Venture delivered it to the front door. but after all that it is only a pair of shorts and nothing was damaged. So i guess they are very durable as well.

Nice shorts
These shorts are nice for work, allowing you to keep cool while having the benefit of having your knees covered while working on the ground. They dry nicely and winkle free. The material is strong what you would expect from Wrangler, but these are Dickies. (Note if you wear a 40 wrangler, you'll need a 42 dickies)

What an awesome color!
Purchased these Dickies shorts for my Fiancé for his birthday and they were exactly what he wanted! He has them in black and khaki but the colors are harder to find especially in red. They red is a vibrant tomato red and they have been worn and washed (in cold water) several times with no sign of wear.

Very nice
As always, great quality with Dickies. People complaining about the smell from the factory, seriously wash them twice and it's gone. These hold up through everything, I just wish I knew how baggy the "loose fit" was. A little too baggy for me, but they're still nice and work perfectly. Durable, comfortable, and fit great. Just remember with Dickies to buy a size up. Unless your size is a little snug already, then go two sizes up and use a belt. Trust me, still super comfortable and nobody can even tell. Better than being too snug.
