I love this product
I love this product! Bought for my 5 yo son for Easter bc it's the only one that is height adjustable. I recommend buying the Hapenrefill roll of paper, as the initial one makes about 5 pics. The refill is very large & worth the price. I purchased crayola dry erase crayons as well for the board no mess of markers or drying out from losing caps. 5 ⭐️

So great!
I’ve been waiting to buy this and finally gave in. My 2 year old loves it. We don’t have a magnetic fridge and so I really wanted a easel that had a magnetic side. So great!

This is a great easel! Adjustable height and big enough for two kids to play with it at the same time. The white board side is magnetic and is a great learning tool! Love this product.

This is a great product. I wanted something that had a real chalk board and white board (that was also magnetic). A plus if the item could grow with my son. I first bought a similar product by a competitor but the boards were poor quality. Most people said they had to refinish both sides to make it work. I contemplated refinishing but that would cost more than another easel! **Update*** After only a few months of use indoors, the magnetic side has become warped. I contacted the company to see about warranty and will update my review accordingly. **Update** Customer service was extremely easy to deal with and they sent me a new part, free of charge. Changing my rating back to 5 stars.

Great size, function, and entertainment for my 20 month old!
Like all of our other (many) Hape products, this is a major winner. My 20 month old daughter got this from grandma and grandpa for Christmas and she absolutely loves it. Her papa put it together with no issue—she even wanted to help. The paper roll that comes with the product didn’t last long but I had purchased an extra one knowing it wouldn’t. It is adjustable to three heights; at 20 months she’s in the 90th percentile and it works wonderfully for her. She had tried and enjoyed the magnet function of the white board. The only thing we haven’t done yet is use the chalkboard. It’s small enough to keep in our living room and I’ve been using the paint cups to store crayons. My only very minor issue is, like others have said, the wood frame that is not painted doesn’t have any protective coating so her art/scribbling has already colored the wood frame. But it’s an easel, so use is to be expected! Originally I set up paper on subscribe and save through for every two months but she loves this so much I may have to have paper delivered monthly! Another wonderful Hape product that I would buy again in a second!

Best!
I hope everyone to stop buying IKEA easel and choose this one: 1) easy to assemble, my 3 y/o son made it by himself. 2) has large shelf for both sides of the board, enough to store chalks, pencils, paper, guach, magnets, cloth. 3) the paper roll is fixed in more convenient position than in the Ikea's model (easy to pull by children) 4) the paper roll has the easy to use fixing screws (compared to IKEA's model - always have to think of how to fix the paper, it irritates. 5) magnetic side (compared to IKEA's - NO matnetic side) !!! It is very important especially when you learn magnetic alphabet or want to fix a small list on the board 6) the height is adjustable!!! (Ikea's model - NO)

Easy to assemble
I’m impressed with this. I bought it for my daughter’s 3rd birthday. Great quality. It was very easy to put together and I like that it has different height levels as she grows. I thought the cups were open but they come with colored lids that have a small opening (for paint). I’m using them for crayons so I left the colored lids off. Also, keep in mind that it doesn’t come with magnets. For some reason, I was thinking that it did.

Happy with hape!
Compared this to the melissa and doug easel and im really glad i went with this one. Its smaller which i find is nice because it doesn't take up a ton of room, its nice to look at, and fits my very tall 2.5 year old perfectly at its lowest setting. Its also framed in wood which i like better than the melissa and doug easel with raw sides Cons are i wish it had an area for the chalk and a water proof shelf (i can see water damaging the mdf). I read complaints about the small paper roll and people having a hard time finding replacement rolls and i would personally buy construction paper to paint on since the paper it comes with is very thin. Melissa and Doug also have large sheets that would fit so i might try those. All in all a great product! I would personally recommend this over the melissa and Doug (still love that brand though) however, both have their pros and cons!

GREAT kiddo easel. Well made and sturdy.
Bought this to use with my 16 month old grand baby. Easy to put together. I did it myself. That alone should get it 5 stars. So easy. Very sturdy and easy to level if needed. The height adjustments are great as my little one is still short. The lowest height is perfect for her. And we can raise it when needed. I don’t know why people are grousing about the 15 in roll of paper. It’s available online but I also bought a pad of thicker art paper and can easily clip a piece to the top of the easel. There is a convenient little shelf under the easel and I put a pallet there for the paint blobs and it worked well. This is a wonderful item and well made.

I wish I had found this years ago
Item arrived well packaged, in perfect condition and as expected. Almost 4 year old loves it. I don't think I have ever put one of her toys together but she and I put this together with no problems. It is on the highest height setting and is perfect for her and when she gets taller, she can sit in a chair! She loves that she can use chalk, magnets, dry erase markers AND use the paper to draw/ color/ paint. In fact, she has a book of extra large color pages that we put on the easel for her to color or paint. She seems to think she is a very fancy artist with this easel. I think this would have been fun for our daughter starting at around age 2 and she loves it at age 4, if that helps anyone decide an appropriate age. Highly recommend!
