What a wonderful product. It keeps the electric bill low unlike the amount you pay to use your air conditioner. It also cleans the air very nicely and you very rarely have to dust your furniture. It is definitely well worth the money. You'll love it.

When I lived in Colorado, this unit was a LIFE SAVER. The only minor issue is filling it with water was kind of a pain because you can only pour the water in a small drawer at the bottom of the unit. Buy a big (cheap) water pitcher from the Dollar Store if you buy this unit, it will save you a lot of pain.

it's great for what we needed it for, without needed a hose to put out the window. We use it for individual rooms and it definitely is effective in an apartment that doesn't have A/C, it does a great job of cooling down the room. The remote is handy too. As long as we fill it up (3 blender pitchers full of water) it will last through the night. The pour spout is a little annoying just because it's not too big - BUT you can also remove the top of the unit (unclip it) and just dump water in it. The motor isn't loud either, but the remote beeping is. All in all - life saver!

Important to note, it's not an air conditioner. It only works to cool when the humidity is low. That being said, I live in the central valley of CA. My daughter'sroom didn't seem to benefit too micah from our central air due to the position in our house of her room...2 exterior walls and a huge, old, single pane window. I bought this to try to cool her off a bit and am very impressed by how much it cools her room. We have to keep her door open so fresh, dry air is available to draw from, but that's not a problem. The fan without the cooling function on is very powerful and moves a lot of air. Easy to move also

Used this swamp cooler all summer and loved it. It cranks out a lot of cold air and the tank reservoir lasts fairly well. I found on really hot days I'd refill the water tank once a day or so. Please keep in mind this is an evaporative cooler .. if you live in a region with a higher humidity, it will not work for you. Living in southern Colorado, this works perfectly for me!

Every few days a year, we got a hot day or two in San Francisco. I bought this just for those few hot days. It works perfectly. It's about 90 degrees outside and very dry. In San Francisco, a heat wave is always accompanied by very low humidity. It's not the quietest fan but not the loudest. I put in my bedroom and put my bluetooth headphones on and listen to music. Very nice. Love it!

About as loud as a portable AC unit would be of similar size but with a water trickle noise going on. Keeps my room just a few degrees cooler with a nice strong breeze. A gallon of water last me half day, but even when not in "Cool" mode it makes a really good powerful fan - which requires no water.

Moves a lot of air. In a small bedroom it moves as much as a good Vornado fan, if not more. I have not seen it reduce the temperature in a room by anything close as advertised, but if its pointing towards you, it blows very cold air. Even better if you add some ice, and the removable water tank makes that easy. I have been throwing a few small ice packs in the tank. 100 degrees last week and about 50% humidity to 70% close to the California Coast. Air conditioner only cooled my back bedroom down to about 86. This Portable cooler only reduced the temp by 1 or 2 degrees, to about 84.5, but the cold air hitting me kept me very comfortable. Im sure this would work much better with lower humidity. Nice machine for the price, but do your homework. This is not an air conditioner.

I happily used this unit for the summer months this year and it performed above my expectations. Even with some pretty humid nights (>80%), I still felt like I benefited from the evaporative cooling. It also worked great during the day when the humidity was much lower. I live in southern California, and this was the only type of cooling I needed for the summer. The fan is also very powerful, even without the evaporative cooling turned on. Maintenance has been pretty low. I change the water and rinse out the tub once a week. Have had no issues to speak of. The remote is simple, and it works fine. I only wish the power cord was a little longer. I hope to use this for many more years!

I am about to buy our seventh Honeywell Indoor "Swamp Cooler". We live in a very dry climate up in the mountains of Southern California and these babies can cool a room down and keep you comfortable day and night. We have a huge three story house with three air conditioning units and three generations living here, and our electricity bills can be astronomical during the summer. So this is our solution. As others have stated--this is not an air conditioning unit, it cools the air using water in a well and a fan, but will not make it "frosty", but definitely make an eight to ten degree difference. You can't back it up to a wall, as it needs to pull in air from the back. I am very sensitive to heat--I melt in heat, and this makes such a difference in the rooms we use them in and adds a bit of humidity to boot (which we need). We are replacing our room fans with these, as they cost the same to run, but just don't move air around--they cool the air and move it around. Simple, cheap (cost as opposed to high electricity bills) and brilliant.
