I had a digital gauge I'd have to put a new battery in every time I wanted to use it (very infrequently). Instead of burn a hole in my wallet buying a stock of batteries, I got a dial gauge and while I can't convert to metric as fast, it's nice to have something at the ready for those one-off measurements before I head to the hardware store, etc. Great tool and very well built! Seems to hold accuracy very well.

I am a machinist who reaches for a tool like this more than 100 times per day and I own more than 30 of them. I have to rave about this new design. It moves smoothly with a solid feel. It has a fast and easy to read dial. After only 1 month, it has become my favorite, over the more expensive name brands. I will buy more of these!

This is the second dial caliper I bought from Amazon. The first, a Fowler, which cost about 20 dollars more, I returned. I thought that the more expensive one would be better than the Anytime, but I was wrong. For comparison I'll mention the Fowler's drawbacks of which the Anytime has none. 1) The Fowler was very stiff and made my thumb sore. 2) The ruler was offset by about ten thousandths. In other words, when the dial was zero, the body did not line up with the ruler's tick mark. 3) The dial needed to be zeroed, being off by about 10 thousandths. To be fair after that the unit was accurate, provided you kept in mind the offset on the ruler. 4) The case was cheap. In contrast, the Anytime is smooth and easy on the thumb. The ruler is not offset. It came zeroed spot on. It too is very accurate as compared to my micrometer and digital calipers. (While I have a supply of batteries, I am tired of the digital calipers blinking and shutting itself off.) Lastly, the Anytime case is hinged plastic with the calipers resting in foam. With Mitutoyo manufacturing their calipers in Brazil and Starrett manufacturing theirs in China, I see no compelling reason to pay a premium for those. The Anytime is a great value and gives excellent mechanical and measurement performance. I highly recommend it.

I needed two calipers so I bought this one and a similar one made by well known quality tool maker Starrett. The Anytime Tools caliper is very similar in weight, feel, construction to the Starrett that cost three times as much. It matches the Starrett in measuring known dimensions. If you want a quality tool on a budget I would not hesitate to purchase these.

I use this dial caliper for reloading cartridges. I already had a digital caliper, but I wanted a dependable dial version in case my battery goes dead in the middle of a run. I chose this tool for two reasons...1) economical price 2) reported accuracy by other buyers. I am very pleased with this purchase, as this dial caliper performs as well as my (machinist) buddy's high-quality, high-price dial caliper. I do not hesitate to recommend this caliper to anyone needing it for a similar purpose as mine.

This is the first caliper I've seen with a stamped, not machined, body. I was suspicious when I saw this, but then I realized it was a good way to save money on manufacturing. The body doesn't have to be machined with great accuracy. It just has to be tough. It seems like a fine caliper. It works smoothly. I don't foresee any problems with it.

I've used this for several weeks now and haven't had any issues. I'm measuring down to the level of the device, and compare it against my buddy's much more expensive caliper, and we keep getting the same answers. His is probably a little more sturdy (feels that way), but I haven't had any issues and keep it in my table anyway, so I'm not worried about it. Great value here.

I've been using this dial caliper for several months and have been quite pleased with it. I was impressed with it right out of the box because of it's heft and finish quality, and it worked smoothly across the rack without the rough spots that many cheap and not so cheap calipers demonstrate nowadays. I've used nearly everything out there in the 40yrs plus that I've been doing machine work--Starrett, Brown and Sharpe, Kanon, Mitutoya, Enco, etc. etc., and for 30 bucks you just can't beat this dial caliper. In fact, I'm not convinced that you can beat it with calipers costing 3 or 4 times as much. It's consistent and accurate--at first I checked a number of readings against micrometers to satisfy myself that the tool was absolutely precise in the different places I checked along the 0-6 range of the caliper. I trust the measurements of this tool as much as if I had one of the expensive big name calipers in my hand.

Totally happy with this dial caliper compared to the SPI dial caliper that was totally off its tolerance marks. First thing I did with the Anytime dial caliper is check its accuracy and it was perfect. No more SPI stuff for me.

I checked this against a Mitutoyo at work, and this thing is spot on, for 1/3 the price. I have reloaded approximately 1000 rounds with it, and am very happy with it so far. It doesn't seem as beefy as the one at work, but as long as I don't use it as a hammer, I'm sure it will give me years of use
