This machine worked so much better than we thought any of this portable type would. We had it in an un-air conditioned basement room with an unsealed concrete slab floor, 3 sides of the room partially underground with unsealed concrete block walls. We didn't even realize just how much moisture a room like that could hold under normal conditions, until we put this guy in there. We made a permanent hose connection to a drain in the floor (if you can do it ---DO IT). It knocked the summertime humidity from high 70s percent down to the machine's low of 34-36 percent humidity and kept it there. Now in the winter it goes up to somewhere in the high 50 range and the machine will knock it back to low 40's when we turn it on. You want a reason to have this machine available???? Recently one night the house water heater (in that room) blew out something and the majority of 40 gallons of water wound up on the (untreated) concrete floor. After sopping up the water, we were left with the fact that the concrete slab and the first layer of the concrete block walls were holding gallons of moisture. Fans and this wonderful machine working day and night for four straight days and nights-made it back to normal. It's surprisingly not too noisy (not whisper quiet by any means- but quite tolerable for the outcome). It's very heavy if you have to lift it, (we don't have home delivery in our mountains), but once it's in it's room it's easy enough to move around. This is a workhorse that has worked though a humid laden summer, a moist fall, and an emergency flood- without thus far skipping a beat.

Six months of ownership and this thing keeps rocking. The setting for holding humidity seems to cycle on and off frequently. Keeps humidity nice for my small (700 sq feet) apartment. Not terribly loud. Sort of a nice white noise sound at night if you are into that although the beep when it is full is annoying. Once it is full it will still cycle occasionally which I find odd. For the price (from the warehouse) the above does not take away stars. Has nice sturdy wheels, does not look out of place or take up a large footprint in my small place. I suspect this would work in even larger places (1000sq or maybe larger) but I cant say for sure. My place is bedroom, living room separate kitchen and bathroom and this keeps the entire place comfortable in the 45-55 range during summer time in South Korea. Absolutely recommended.

I found many positive detailed reviews on this unit, and they were fairly accurate. This beautifully designed, well-built dehumidifier (the first one I ever bought) seems to work great. Its display gives an accurate reading of the ambient humidity and its simple keypad allows for several modes of operation and adjustment. It's also quiet, which I love. The only problem with the Keystone is the instructions, which are inadequate, badly translated and confusing. I'll help you out with a supplement: FOR CONTINUOUS DRAINING: The clear Drain Hose comes already connected to the Drain Hose Adapter. As you push the clear Drain Hose onto the Drain Tube (which they're calling the "Connector" on Page 8), make certain the two small slots in the Drain Hose Adapter stay aligned with the two holes next to the Drain Hose Outlet on the back panel. If they're not aligned, you'll have to twist the Drain Hose to install the screws, which really isn't ideal. BY THE WAY: If you install the screws first, as I did on my first attempt (the instructions aren't clear), you might end up twisting the Drain Hose accidentally and not be aware of it. Install the screws last. DRAIN HOSE ADAPTER SCREWS: There probably won't be any screws in the bucket, as they claim on Page 8, so you'll have to scrounge up two small round head screws. I suggest stainless steel. WATER BUCKET: The bucket actually snaps firmly into place, unlike on some other dehumidifiers. The snapping isn't readily obvious and to me it seemed like the bucket just wouldn't go in. You have to push firmly on both sides simultaneously. UPDATE: I've run the Keystone for well over a month, nearly every day. It's worked perfectly, no complaints, and for as hard as the fan blows, it continues to surprise me how quiet it is. I'm a light sleeper and I can sleep with this running next to my bed.

After two full months of use: THIS ITEM IS WONDERFUL! I live in a small basement apartment that is always very dusty, but has very high humidity. It's an old house with no insulation. So whatever the outside humidity is, that's almost the humidity in the house. I have a humidity meter and it's been up to 65 humidity in the house!!! This dehumidifier gets that 65 down To 45 in 30-45 minutes and the water level inside is fills- but not too fast. It's just the PERFECT size for me with everything. It even has a COOL setting so while dehumidifying, it doesn't increase the house temperature much. Without the Cool setting- it will increase the room temperature by 3-5 degrees rather fast. The only drawback is very small. The drawer that collects the water is quite difficult to slide back in after emptying. You have to jiggle it several times to get it exactly on the track properly so it closes completely. It's easy to work, easy to set-up and works perfectly. I couldn't ask for more.

I bought and installed this unit in a friend's basement. It has been running about a month now at the humidity setting of 50%. After the first two hours I could feel a noticeable difference in the basement air and for the first time since she has owned the home (15 years) her sump pump ran. That was because I ran the condensate drain through a short garden hose right into it. In my opinion, running the condensate into a drain or sump is the only way to use these units. That's because the internal holding tank would fill up quickly and have to be emptied far too often. The unit is relatively quiet and cycles completely on and off around the humidity setting you select. I say quiet but I really wouldn't want one running in my bedroom. I'm not saying this unit works any better or worse than similar machines on the market. Or, that it is better built and will last longer. Only time will tell that. Personally, I think these products are very much the same - at least in a similar price range. They are all made in China, built to last 3-5 years and be thrown away when they stop working. It's just a guess but keeping the internal air filter clean might have a bearing on how many years it will last for you.

This dehumidifier works great. It also arrived packaged well to avoid damage during shipment. See the attached photos. There is no assembly required onky a few pieces of tape and styrofoam to remove. I used it to dehumidify an underground storm shelter that was very moist and it worked well enough to dry all of the concrete and surfaces. It took the humidiry all the way down to 35% as checked by a separate humidity meter. It is easy to take apart to empty water or to service filters as well. Here are a few other pros and cons for this unit: Pros: -Very easy to operate without reading instructions. -The automatic shutoff when the unit is full works well and the unit starts again after reinstallation of the emry reservoir. -There is a outlet pipe for installation of a pump if you want continuous operation. -It is adjustable so you can choose the level of humidity you want down to 35%. -It works well and removes humidity quickly in smaller spaces. I haven't tried it in a larger space but it should perform equally well. Cons: -There is no pump in the unit so for continuous use you either need to empty it or install a separate pump. For the price this is not an issue. -The unit is a little bigger than what I expected for the capacity.

Using this dehumidifier in our basement and the humidity level went from 89% to 55% in about 8 hours. The humidity level has maintained at 45% ever since. Great dehumidifier, runs quietly and does exactly like it should. Basement is dry and odor free, no more musty smells. And no freezing up...like the last 2 dehumidifiers.

We are very pleased with this dehumidifier. We find it can pull our 900 sq ft basement from 75% down to 35% overnight (which might mean it's happening faster). Full bucket in 15 hours. It could clearly handle quiet a bit more square footage if needed. Of note: - I found emptying the bucket daily a bit of a bother. (Never spilled, but it has a fully open top...) so I last week I placed it on a chair and hooked a hose over to our basement's floor drain. Excellent. - It's much quieter and runs cooler than the 15 year old dehumidifier it replaced. Worth it for that alone! All dehumidifiers will release heat, but we do not notice heat from this one. Fairly efficient. -Auto defrost is great. It has never been iced when I've checked. -No drips, leaks, spills. Cant misalign the bucket (which was a problem with last dehumidifier). - Air discharge is on side. I rotate now and then to direct airflow through different areas of basement.

I love this dehumidifier. This is my fourth brand dehumidifier in 3 years. The first was a fire hazard recall, the second brand leaked the gas out of the compressor the first winter storage and the third just quit working after 2 months. It goes as they say : The Best if worth waiting for. Keystone is very QUIET compared to the other brands. Keystone is Energy Star rated and actually programmed to shut off the fan when it is not needed during the cycle process. The output vent is on the side versus the top but that doesn't matter to me. EASY to program/use. I don't know who actually manufactures this brand versus the others but they should all learn from this model. I do recommend 48 hours after delivery not to turn it on and just let it stand upright to allow the compressor gas/oil to adjust as needed - I don'[t know why they don't have on the box : KEEP UPRIGHT with arrows for shipping and don't understand why at stores you will see them stocked on their side or even upside down!

Living in a camper trailer for work during winter didn't bother me, the 60-70% humidity that kept creating water droplets on my windows did. Needed something to solve my humidity problem and the tinier cheaper dehumidifier I tried at first just couldn't even touch the problem. Chose to cough up the larger amount of money and get myself this larger one, after going over several models/prices, to find this one to be my personal choice. Price is pretty much the same as competitors while likewise having a solid warranty, that alone kept me from getting any of the slightly cheaper ones and they didn't show any signs of having a warranty of any sort. Now to what really matters: Yes this item works and most of all did the job! Not even 2 days it had dropped my humidity from 67% to down in the 40% area I set the mark at without any issues. The fact that I had to empty the water bucket before day 3 says how quickly that thing does its job. Water doesn't form on my windows anymore and I've very easily noticed a much nice temperature being maintained in my trailer with the lower humidity levels, that there has been a great bonus. If you need something to deal with humidity issues and your willing to pay the price along with a good warranty to cover it for a time, I'd suggest giving this one a try. It works and it works well.
