Like many, I have gone through my share of Mr. Coffee Ice Tea makers and tired of the cracked pitchers and staining. I am happier now with the Capresso as it makes a decent pitcher of ice tea very fast. I elect to pour my ice tea into plastic pitcher and then just rinse this beaker-like glass pitcher, so I can put it back into the unit and have it ready for the next time. I am sure this will keep the pitcher which came with the unit in as-new shape for some time. The pluses are you can either pour water into the back reservoir or pull it out to carry to the sink to fill; either way the process is much easier than with a Mr. Coffee. I use 6 tea bags with the setting at full to make a rich tasting unsweetened ice tea. The biggest plus is the Capresso looks very attractive with the stainless front and white back, so I can leave it sit out. Incidentally, the label says it was made in China. The size of the unit is very nice, as it not too tall or too wide. There are fill markings for ice on the pitcher and on the water reservoir making it easy to use. I like the basket that pulls out but I find I just drop or pull tea bags while its inside. You must use the Capresso pitcher. So the bottom line it works, its attractive, and its easy to use and maintain.

My first experience with this ice maker did not go well and if it weren't for the incredible design and Capresso's great customer service I would be giving it one star rather than five. This is my second unit. The first unit only worked one time. I contacted Capresso and spoke with a knowledgeable and professional representative who correctly diagnosed the problem: power switch damaged in shipping. The tea maker is packaged with the power switch pressing directly against the inside face of the manufacture's cardboard box (very poor packaging design). Amazon didn't help matters by shipping the unit without any effective packaging. Even though the first unit only worked one time, other than bad packaging, it was evident that the ice tea maker's design is the most innovative and best conceived of any ice tea maker that I'm acquainted with. I've been using ice tea makers for many years, typically every day, and did extensive research before purchasing this one. Some of the attributes which differentiate the Capresso unit from it's peers are: 1) A very convenient detachable water reservoir. If you haven't used another unit, this might seem to be a trivial matter, but it isn't. With other units, you have to fill up a pitcher to a defined mark and then pour the water into the ice tea maker. On the Capresso, the water tank easily detaches and can be filled up over a sink until water comes out its overflow vents. You don't even have to lock at the fill mark. Then the tank is just slid back onto the ice maker. The water reservoir has a clever port on the bottom with a valve and silicone seals which feed the ice tea maker when they are connected without leaking. 2) The glass pitcher, which many have complain about, is significantly better than the plastic pitchers used by other manufacturers. It is relatively thin, but the glass appears to be very strong. I have hit it against a faucet, sink, and counter-top many times without any damage. Unlike plastic, it's very easy to clean and doesn't stain. 3) The tea basket has an integral screen for using loose tea, and prevents broken tea bags from ruining a batch of ice tea. This is just one of those simple features that every ice tea maker should have, but most don't. 4) The overall design is very clean and pleasant; especially when compared to other units which look like, and are, cheap plastic crap. I've made hundreds of pitchers of great ice with the Capresso (second unit) without any issues, and I'm very happy with it.

We are on our second CAPRESSO TEA MAKER. The last one wore out from constant use(O: . Highly recommend this item for anyone who loves iced tea!!!

I HAVE BEEN USING THESE FOR YEARS NOW AS THEY MAKE HOME TEA MAKING SIMPLE AND VERY QUICK.

Beautiful iced tea maker. Takes about 5 minutes to brew a pot of tea and it is perfect every time. The pitcher can then be placed in your fridge and used as an actual pitcher. I love it.

This makes keeping iced tea available always... SO easy and pretty!

Good deal. Higher quality glass vs plastic and 2nd pitcher

I so love this. I also use it for hot tea and whatever is left over I pour in a pitcher for my ice tea. This is perfect for someone that is a tea drinker and wants to have the coffee pot for coffee and the tea maker for tea! Love it and use it regularly.

I love the try new/different loose teas. Removable small basket makes this easy. Quick clean up. Looks good on counter, doesn't take up a lot of space.

Great ice tea maker. It brews with hotter water than the cheaper ice tea makers without making the tea bitter from too much heat. The pitchers are thick enough to be sturdy but not too heavy. We have made about 100 batches of tea without a issue. The water chamber comes off for easy filling with RO water.
