I bought this because I wanted to use high-end mics [that require Phantom Power] to a Linux desktop for recording. The TI chipset used in this [Texas Instruments PCM2900C Audio CODEC] is class compliant and shows up under Linux [UbuntuStudio 16.04] without any issue through USB2.0. I actually use this mixing board as my sound card connected to a stereo with bookshelf speakers and it is really nice. Incredibly clean sound. It also works well for connecting mics to the computer.

I was given the previous model of this little soundboard to use with my podcast. I liked it so much, I bought a new one as soon as the old one got friend in mishap. (I plugged it into some bad wiring while I was recording on location.) I'm not an audio guy, but people tell me my podcast sounds great and this little guy is part of the reason why.

Great basic mixer. I bought several of these for my grand children (different households) to get them off the iPads and playing real instruments in real time with siblings, cousins and friends. Once they learned they could plug their different instruments into the mixer and get a harmonious sound out of the Peavy amp I gave them, all kinds of innovation started. I can't wait to see what they learn to do.

I am not a fan of using the green plug on my PC for audio - the usb on this mixer kicks butt, and acts like an external sound card - makes working in Sonar a pleasure, as finding a half decent internal sound card for audio recording is impossible - also keeps audio settings on my setup from PC to PC easy, as I have bought 2 of these mixers. Alesis has always been ahead of their time from the HR16B drum machine I had as a child that I still have (and still works). Thanks Alesis!!

I'm happy with the Alesis Multimix 4 USBFX mixer. It was easy to use right out of the box, and is exactly as described. Looking forward to using it in an upcoming, live setting. Wanted to "downsize" a little with my equipment, but not give up certain functions I have come to rely on. The plus is the effects, which I use with my voice when singing live, and was looking to have USB and phantom power for when I want to record on a computer program with singing or voiceover. Simple to use. Came in record time and packaged well!

After learning a bit more about how it works, this product has been great. Just be aware that it uses phantom power for microphones, and standard mics you might hook up to cell phone or into the back of your computer won't work. That said, it has been perfect for doing a podcast with multiple mics. I record out to a digital recorder instead of using the USB.

I'm rating this product based on the $138 price I paid for it. It was inexpensive and does the job very well. I use it for gigging to plug into my 3 input Fishman SA220 to allow up to four mic's and a couple of guitars - it works good for that. It's very important to set the levels correctly so that you don't get clipping and distortion on the output - which I have used to my advantage in recording distortion guitar for individual tracks. It has a decent effects channel and good equalization on the channels. I recommend this product especially for new and low budget musicians - It's a good back up mixer as well.

Works great for what I need. Able to run the audio from my computer DAW into this mixer through the AUX input. Play my instrument through any input. along with the audio coming out of the computer. Then I was able to send the signal back through the USB cable with out the computer audio in the mix. Just mix my instrument on a single track in my DAW. Before I had to use 2 mixers to do this!

I am using this mixer with two XLR mics needing phantom power. I am monitoring via the USB out, on my computer. Its all sounding great, no hiss at all and good quality sound. I am not a pro so maybe its not perfect, but its perfect for me.

Just needs a few dial turns and its great! I run a podcast and got tired of crowding around one mic. So I saved up got this a few xlr mics arms and shock mounts and it has been one of the best choices ever. The effects are hit or miss and for the most part I don't use them preferring on editing in post production. However of you need something simple and straight forward to record a few friends talk about video games and not want to fuss with virtual mixers this is for you. It also has built in phantom power so you don't have to buy that.
