Great Locking Latch

Very happy with this latch. Used it on a wooden pedestrian fence gate on the side of my house along with a average Master lock. Installation with the template and provided screws took about 10 minutes. I just need it as a simple deterrent to keep someone from just opening the gate and wandering into my backyard and more importantly to keep the kids from escaping. Am sure it will easily do both. I used a drill to predrill the holes in order to make it easier to set the screws in the wood. There was one minor design flaw in screwing in the screws. The area around the screws is tight and my drill screwdriver eventually hit the metal surrounding the screws. This was minor but had to finish screwing them in at angle. Screwing into wood can require a great deal of torque and therefore I came close to stripping a few of the screw heads trying to keep the screw driver turning at an angle to the screw head. Again this was very minor so I still give it five stars. I have an old adjustable length Master Lock which fit into the latch perfectly. I got out some old bolt cutters just see if it works as advertised and sure enough it you can't get them in edgewise to cut the lock. Even though it is made of a very solid steel construction, no lock is perfect. I can imagine that bashing it long enough with a hammer and/or in combination with prying it with a pry bar would eventually defeat it. It would take some time though. That said in my case it is stronger and more secure than the wooden gate to which it is attached so am sure the gate would fail long before this locking system. I recommend it as a great latch that does what it claims.

Lock n' Roll

A great piece of heavy duty hardware, to protect a less-than heavy duty shackle... Bolted through the hollow-core door, and lagged the smaller half into the frame. It's not Ft. Knox, but it goes far to dissuade would-be burglars.

Great design and a breeze to install

Great design and a breeze to install. Seems really strong and keeps the bolt of the lock absolutely safe from a "universal key" (bolt cutter), Highly recommend and will buy again as the need arises.

Works great. Hasp could be a little bigger. I own a set of bolt cutters and I couldn’t touch it.

Our barn was broken in to with bolt cutters so I purchased these. Best. thing. Ever! I've bought more to secure all storages entries as well as the access to our crawl space. Strong, well made and really works to deter theft.
