Accuracy Test. Pretty good for a low cost scale
I have to say that I was a little skeptical about the accuracy of the scale for the price. When the product arrived I did some weight testing. I have a dead weight kit that I used to check the accuracy. I had used "grams" for all the testing. Here are some test results. Out of the Box: -1g dead weight = 1.0g on scale -200g dead weight = 200.1g on scale -1000g (1kg) dead weight = 1001.4 on scale -2000g (2kg) dead weight = 2001.6 Calibration instructions: Press and hold "MODE" until you see "CAL" then release. Press "MODE" only once. It will blink "1000" Place 1000g (1kg). When it stop blinking, it's complete. After Calibration results. I did multiple test and I always come up with on number or the other. I guess the air pressure may affect it a little. -1g dead weight = 1.00g on scale -1g dead weight = 0.9g on scale -20g dead weight = 19.9g on scale -20g dead weight = 20.0g on scale -200g dead weight = 199.9g on scale -200g dead weight = 200.0g on scale -500g dead weight = 499.9g on scale -500g dead weight = 500.0g on scale -1000g (1kg) = 1000.0g on scale -1000g (1kg) = 1000.0g on scale -2000g (2kg) = 2000.1g on scale -2000g (2kg) = 2000.1g on scale This is only based on my experience and opinion and I don't expect you to agree. I think this scale's accuracy is more than sufficient for food and dietary products. Perhaps if you rely on using it for jewelry such as gold and silver you are looking at the wrong place. But if you can invest in jewelry than you can invest in a $400 scale. Remember that the scale is calibrated at the factory. The factory may be at a different sea level than you may live. So when you receive the scale it may have a slightly different reading. Along with that said, carriers may not handle the package properly during transit. See "Ace Ventura - Smash packages" on youtube. With all that said, GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME FOR $15.00 DOLLARS. I have attached some pictures. Please review.

Can’t beat it at this price point
First off, I’m using this scale for making pour over coffee. For this use I wanted 0.1 gram resolution and hopefully accuracy better than +/-1g so that I can more accurately dial in my method and work to improve the repeatability of my brews. If you don’t feel like reading this whole review I can say right now my expectations were greatly exceeded. General thoughts: -This scale is small! the weighing platform is roughly 4”x4” and is perfect for holding a coffee mug. -This is a sub $15 scale and it shows. It is built to a price point. The weighing platform is made from light gauge stamped sheet metal, the whole scale is very light, and the buttons feel cheap. If you have the money and value having “nice” things you may be interested in a higher priced scale. -While I would hate to see what would happen if I dropped this scale off the counter, they seem to have put money into the things that matter. I have access to calibrated weights and tested my scale: not only can it resolve to 0.1g it’s also accurate to +/-0.1g. Calibration test: The calibrated weight set I used went up to a total of 1kg. I placed each weight (or set of weights for values over 400g) on the scale 3 times to check repeatability. Each of the 3 times the scale read exactly the same for each weight. These values are listed below. 100g weight = 100.0g 200g weight = 200.0g 400g weight = 400.1g 800g weight = 800.1g 1000g weight = 1000.0g At this price point I would have been fine if it came out to +/- 1g, but coming out to +/-0.1g is truly a surprise. I will say that it seems to be sensitive to where you place the weight on the platform. Placing weights at the edges gave readings as far as 0.3g off and lower repeatability (placing the same weight at the same spot on the edge gave a different value each time, but never more than 0.3g from the specified value. This behavior isn’t limited to just this scale though. I work with MUCH more expensive equipment that behaves similarly. If you’re conscious of placing your items at the center of the platform you can definitely expect +/-0.1g accuracy. In normal use(less careful use) I expect +/-0.2g which is more than good enough for coffee. Overall, I can’t recommend this enough for the price I paid. As I said before, those who can afford more and like having things that are more well built would probably be more satisfied with a higher price-point scale (even if they perform the same). For those who don’t want to spend more, this scale is excellent.

Make sure it's the right scale for your use case
The build quality is very solid. This unit can only detect 0.1 gram differences between masses, so be aware of the scenarios that this particular scale would do well in. It also comes with two measuring boats - one the size of the scale's active area, and one the size of the entire scale - that serve as a convenient, protective case during storage. I would recommend it for measuring by the gram, and for situations where it's not a big deal if it's inaccurate by 0.1-0.2 grams. If this is unacceptable for your use, then there are other scales on Amazon that will do better for you. However, I really like this unit and would definitely buy it again for what I am using it for.

Convenient 2kg range, great accuracy, very compact
Worked perfectly on arrival. Verified calibration with a 500g weight, and reads accurately after brief warm-up. Calibrating the scale requires 1000g, not the weight paired by Amazon. Might confuse some that display shows Count on initial power up -- need to select Mode to grams or whatever. Really like scale's compactness, and great to have back-lit LCD for measurement visibility. Agree with others that embossed button labels difficult to read - chrome on chrome. 0.1g resolution is believable. My TOP2KG scale included units Counts, dwt (pennyweight), ozt (troy ounces), g, oz, gn (grains). Auto-off time not adjustable; was about 120 seconds from the last stable weight. But selecting Hold seems to lock the unit on displaying the last value. Shows accurate negative weight if tared object removed, which is handy.

A good buy
Purchased this scale for its low-end accuracy. I needed to be able to weigh 3g of yeast for a recipe. None of the other scales I tried in this price range would even register any measurement at all till I had about 6-7g on the scale even thou they were advertised as measuring in 1g increments. To see the display move in tenth of a gram increments was very nice indeed. I will also be using this scale to measure out essential/fragrant oils for soap making. As I make small batches of soap, this is perfect. Very happy with this purchase.

Best Kitchen Scale that I have found
This is the second Smart Weigh scales that I have purchased. I use one at home and one at work mainly for pour over coffee. I have had the first one for over two years and it still works perfectly. I had purchased another brand that looked really nice but was horrible for pour over. It was not sensitive enough when weighing coffee beans. The Smart Weigh is extremely sensitive and accurate. You can't go wrong with this scale.

Terrific for accurately weighing small amounts of practically anything.
I bought this little scale because I became unhappy with the constant guessing game of using the right amount of tea for the various serving utensils I have. I am a bit of a tea fanatic, admittedly, but not when it comes to the proper measurement for the service I'm using. After visiting my favorite tea shop in San Francisco recently, I was told that weighing tea by the gram ensured the proper flavor in your pot or cup. And, I noticed that for their tastings they used a small scale similar to this one. I settled on the Smart Weigh because it is not too small to be used for other purposes, yet small enough to be stored easily. This little scale takes all of the guesswork out of my tea-making process, for a cup, a bowl, or one of my many and various sized teapots. It can also be used to weigh herbs and spices, or any other small item (even jewelry) that requires fine accuracy. For me, one of the best features is that once you place the container you are measuring tea into (say, a small bowl) and set it to compensate for the weight of the bowl, you don't have to reset. All you have to do is place the container on the scale and it automatically adjusts. I would highly recommend this to anyone who needs an accurate measurement for small, light items.

4 years and going strong!
I use this scale everyday to weigh coffee beams, water for my pour overs, and also foods for calorie counting. It does a great job, has good features, and has really held up! I’ve spilled stuff into it a few times and sometimes it will glitch, but once it’s dry it’s fine. I’m amazed the abuse it takes!

Easy to store and reliable for baking, coffee, and powdered dye.
I've had two of these and found them to be accurate and reliable for daily use for weighing coffee beans and occasionally for baking or measuring powdered dye for dying yarn. (Don't worry! I covered it with plastic wrap so no dye powder could get on it!). I have a access to a balance beam scale so I could verify the accuracy of the digital one. My first was accurate and reliable for a few years, until The Great Gel Nail Polish Removal Debacle of 2015. I was in the kitchen trying to apply cotton soaked in 99% acetone onto my nails and then wrap them with foil, and the display on my scale was ruined after I knocked over the acetone trying to put the lid on with my foil fattened fingers. No fault of the scale since there is no reason to expect a digital display to withstand an acetone bath. It's a kitchen scale, not a chem lab scale. I bought a different scale that was larger and has a continuous flat glass surface, but I missed my original scale and ended up buying another. It's small size means it is easy to store in my small kitchen. It weighs to the tenth, so it is accurate when a gram one way or the other can make a difference, which is the case when dying small quantities of yarn. I used it for measuring baking ingredients, and my mixing bowls sat on it just fine. When used with larger bowls you do have to peek under a tiny bit to see the display, but I didn't find this bothersome.

Amazing value for the money
Amazing value for the money. This is a small scale but is very big on features. I bought this scale to weigh propellor components for experimental home built aircraft. I was able to dynamically balance two propellor blades within 5 grains of each other....437.5 grains in an ounce! It was so sensitive it could detect a light coat of spray paint. I then weighed all of the fastener components that go into the rotational mix of an aircraft propellor. I was able to adjust weight of these components within 2 grains of each other. The result is silky smooth vibration free performance. Keep in mind that I set a composite propellor blade on top of this little scale and got repeatable results over and over. For $16, I don't care if it craps out tomorrow. The backlight feature is also great.
