Just installed. Pending use and will update. Super simple install, I'm not sure why people reviewed that it's not, it's literally 4 rotations, 1 per tank, the inlet at the bottom and tightening down on the rod.

I got tired of waking up in the middle of the night in a freezing cold camper, because in 2017 an automatic changeover for the propane tanks is not standard on a camper. I guess when you pay thousands of dollars, they can’t figure out how to squeeze in another $35 in parts. Looking for in purchase: -Auto Changeover -Price -Easy Install Design: This Flame King is the perfect purchase; it came with two pig tails that were already installed and it was as simple as screwing off the old one and screwing this one on (don’t forget the gas line tape to prevent leaks). The switch on the front is really nothing more than an arrow, it points to the tank that you are currently using and when it runs out the screen below turns red, all you do is flip the switch to clear the screen and let yourself know that you are now using the other tank. Issues: There are none Cost: $39.95 Positives: ++Design ++Color ++No Software Install ++Lights ++Cost Negatives: --None Final Thoughts: I love this, not waking up cold is the best thing ever. Now I just have to remember to check the tanks every few days for the red light. This is a must buy. Would I recommend: Absolutely, if you are like me and spent all that money and wake up cold, this is the way to fix it.

This worked great! Few helpful instructions were available, so I thought I would help others with the answers I came up with. First, you replace existing single regulator that if you are lucky, has the same 3/8” connection that the new dual regulator has. Just might have to make that connection longer to new location, between the two tanks, to the center clamp rod in the tank mounting kit I purchased. Remove your regulator, likely 3/8 pipe thread, extend the connection to the new location, mount to center all thread rod of your dual tank holder kit with nuts you buy extra with washers and locks. Add nuts to bottom of rod to lock rod in place. Remove bracket from back of valve. (Can’t twist the pipe connections to tighten if mounted in place.) Mount bracket it so it is below the bracket that holds down the two tanks. May have to replace center rod if there isn’t enough threads for that position. Pinch the bracket between nuts on center rod. Installed extra pipe to make up distances. Use gas Teflon tape on Connections. Used 3/8” galvanized pipe. I actually could not find 3/8” galvanized pipe parts long enough to get to new location between the two tanks, so I used 1/2” pipe for the longer parts and 1/2” to 3/8” adapters. Original regulator was mounted to single tank holder on the left side rear of tank. The optimum position for the dual is to the center rod of the dual tank holder kit. For me that was 12” horizontal and 10” vertical. So I used 3/8” to 1/2” pipe connection, to 10” 1/2” pipe, to 1/2” 90 degree elbo, to 4” 1/2” pipe, to 1/2” to 3/8” pipe adapter, to a 4” 3/8 pipe. Using yellow gas pipe Teflon tape on threads, hooked it up in that order. Started with bracket removed from back of valve. (You end up spinning the valve on the pipe last to make last connection). Purchased extra nuts the same size as the center rod to mount bracket to rod below the clamp height on that rod. Reinstall valve to bracket putting the two screws back into regulator. Test for leaks. Ok how do you operate it? After testing, the lever points (bottom end of lever) to the primary side in use, giving you the ability to remove the opposite side. But it will supply gas from the secondary side without changing the lever. So for example your right tank is half full and the left side is full, you would point it to the half full so it would finish getting empty. When empty the full side would take over and the indicator would by red. Then when ready to fill the right side move the lever to the left side. You can test how it work easy. Open right tank and point lever to it and then light stove. Turn off tank and stove goes out. Turn off stove. Now open tanks on both sides and light stove, lever still to right, then turn off right tank. The stove will stay lit. But the indicator will go red. If you turn the lever to left the indicator goes black again. The automatic switch over is so quick the stove never faltered. Hope this helps. Yes if you don’t check the indicator you could run out of both tanks. If worried turn valve of secondary off to you run out, then turn on secondary knowing primary is empty.

I installed this and it worked just fine. No issues. How the negative review got in there, I do not know.

No complaints here. The auto-changeover valve on my 2015 AS Sport was starting to act up. I was thrilled to find I could replace the whole unit for $30. It was a simple bolt-in-place installation. Took less than 5 minutes with a pair of Crescent wrenches, some Teflon tape and a little leak detector solution. I wend ahead and verified the auto-changeover function was operating properly by closing off one tank while the stove was running. It worked great. I'm really not sure what's going on in the other reviewer's pics showing broken tank threads. Mine feel identical in quality to pretty much any other propane tank fitting. In other words, mine haven't broke yet and feel just fine. ***My Rating Criteria*** Build Quality(47.5%) - 5.0 Stars Efficacy(47.5%) - 5.0 Stars Post-Sale Support(0.0%) - n/a Packaging/Presentation(5.0%) - 5.0 Stars WEIGHTED AVERAGE(100.0%) - 5.0 STARS

Have this product 5 stars due to the actual valve hoses and so forth but the pigtails could have been longer especially as the old regulator was mounted on the wall of RV. Had to buy a longer hose from my main line which ended at the wall of RV. No one could tell me if a 4' ended was available not even the dealer. Dealer wanted me to replace the main line from the back of RV over 25'. I went to a 3rd dealer who had a 1/2" NTP to 3/8" but no adapter. Ace hardware had black pipe adapter and made it work. Too much work should have been easier and amazon should have had details and info for extending the hose.

Works great. I got tired of the propane company coming out only when they wanted to. Which always left me with a $400 plus bill. I use propane for my stove and hot water heater. With this setup, the pilot light on the hot water heater stayed lit when it switched to the backup bottle, exactly what I was looking for. For those of you wondering if it will work for your home - it works for me.

This was a great replacement for my travel trailer I was having trouble with my stove no getting propane at all and my water heater wasn’t getting enough to stay lite neither was my furnace or refrigerator the old regulator wasn’t given the systems enough gas. this fixed that everything is working normally again. I did some research on regulators before I bought this my opinion it’s a cheap replacement if your having issues and can’t hurt to replace if it’s old and may fix delivery issues.

The item was well priced and in stock. I use this for 2 X 20# tanks in a relatively small storage compartment. My old regular conveniently sat between the two tank, below the level of the top of the tanks. Installed the new regulator exactly like the old ones - nothing worked. Went back and found the instructions - MUST be mounted above the tanks. VERY inconvenient for me. Finally had to cut a hole in the top of the storage unit for it to work. Works perfectly now, but not without more work than should have been necessary. ALSO, by having to raise the regulator, the pigtails JUST connect with the tanks. Suggest going to 14" or 16" o in the future. Greg - Yuma AZ
