Awsome product, easy to install and made a world of difference in how my hatch opened, and opened a little higher, just enough to not have to duck underneath it any more, and it doesn't hit the roof.

When I first attempted to fit these on the truck, I though they didn't fit. Two inches too long. Then I realized I needed to remove both of the old support shocks and the lift gate has more lift. After installing these the lift, which I used to hit my head on, is now about one foot above my head when fully open. I honestly think these support shocks are stronger than the old ones too. I don't know how long they will last, but for now they are working great.

Easy to install and work just as they should.

These added the perfect amount of headroom to get under my rear hatch of my 2000 Ford Excursion. The height over stock makes it easier to get larger items in the back door. The arms are strong enough to hold the rear window up while driving down the highway.

Awsome fit on my excursion. To install took me 5 minutes . Uninstall BOTH old ones so that way the new ones will fit in. Now that the new ones are in I hardly have to pull on the gate to lift it . And yes it lifts the gate as stated higher then the OEM ones .

They lift the rear hatch higher than what was there before. Was a 90-95 degrees and now it’s more like 110! Great for taller folks getting into the back. Tough for 5’ kids to reach it though! Have to remove both old ones before a new one will install though because of the higher lift. 2x4 from the ground did the job holding hatch up. I’ve had that hatch slam shut before when changing these and it’ll shatter the entire back glass if it drops like that!

Worked great on my 01 excursion lift window

Holy smokes, these things are amazing! Easiest, best ROI upgrade I've ever made on a vehicle. Ok, so I'm 6'6+", so I bang my head on things frequently, but the tailgate on my new-to-me Excursion seemed ridiculously low. it was the only thing about the new tow rig that I hated, and I HATED it. A little poking around the Internet led to discussions of replacing the struts. I wasn't sure it was going to make much difference, but for the money, might as well try it, right? Night and day difference. No, the tailgate isn't way over my head, but neither are any door ways. But if you've ever been annoyed by the low height of the factory struts, these things are a revelation. Yes, the door will tailgate will open more quickly now. Yes, if you park inside with a low ceiling, the tailgate will bump it. Yes, if you're shorter than average, you'll have to add a pull strap or something. But these struts are complete game changers, and they are the length that SHOULD have been installed by the factory. If only making the roof "rack" functional were as easy! As a tip, I looked around my garage and found an old I-beam level -- I think it was 4', mighta been 3' -- for my Ex, it wedged in just perfectly between the bumper and a spot on the tailgate, and held the it up nicely: The replacement was dead simple. Lever off both ends of both struts with a screwdriver, pop on one new strut, do the other side. Your mileage will likely vary, and having an extra pair of hands is probably mandatory for those of normal, not freakish and counterproductive, height, but it's the work of 15 minutes... if you take 10 to step back and appreciate the change. If you're even kindasorta thinking about it: Do it. Right now. Click Buy. You'll be thrilled.

It took less than 5 minutes to swap out these work the old ones. The added height is great because I now have no worries of hitting my head (6'2") on the window. They were installed with temperatures in the 30s and were very stiff even in that temperature.

After reading the reviews I bought these supports for my Ford Excursion 2001 7.3L and they fit PERFECTLY plus giving me an extra 2” of opening.Though I installed them alone with a 4’ piece of wood .... two people would be best bc the hatchback is HEAVY and awkward to manipulate.
