Saved me from buying a new $2000+ refrigerator
4 year old Kenmore Elite refrigerator wasn't cooling very well. Researched internet for common problems and solutions. Ran diagnostics and didn't find anything wrong with electronics/compressor. Paid $90 to have appliance repairman come out and look at it. Repairman said it was low on Freon. Said it could be a slow leak in evaporator or condenser coils and it would be $300+ to find the leak and $400-600+ to fix it (he didn't want to mess with it). I did some more research on internet and found poor cooling due to low refrigerant is a common problem. Watched several videos on how to add Freon to your refrigerator. Ordered this Supco Bullet Piercing Valve and a charge hose with gauge. Bought a can of 134a refrigerant at the auto parts store. Installed the Bullet Piercing Valve as per instructions and added the 134a refrigerant using the charge hose and gauge as per U-tube videos. Supco Bullet Piercing valve was very easy to install and worked just like it was described. Refrigerator has been working great for over a month now with no issues. Spent less than $35 on freon, charge hose with gauge, and can of 134a refrigerant. Saved me $2000+ on a new replacement refrigerator.

A must have for recharging a portable AC unit.
Became an hvac expert by watching a few YouTube videos on how to find the low side, how to use this product and how to charge a window or portable AC unit. So instead of trashing 2 portables, I used my new skill to bring them to life again.

Fixed a Weak Window Air Conditioner
I use a window air-condition in my van for summer camping. Unfortunately, this season the AC stopped blowing cool air. Found a YouTube that suggested adding 134A refrigerant to fix the problem. Since the cost was minimal and the AC I had wasn't working there was nothing to lose. 1) Installed the Valve to the low-pressure (important) side of the compressor. 2) Connected filler hose with can of refrigerant and opened the valve. 3) Turned AC on and waited for the refrigerant to evaporate & flow into the AC system. Note that refrigerant is available at very low cost from Rural King Farm Supply stores (less than $5.00)

Easy to Install Supco Valve
An appliance repair technician told me my 6 year old Frigidaire refrigerator needed a new compressor which he didn't recommend as he hasn't "had good luck" with that. So, he recommended a new refrigerator. Mine is a built in Frigidaire, about $2000. The store told me it would be about 2 months before they could get one as production was affected by Covid-19. I could not accept that the compressor was bad as I could put my hand on it and feel it running. So I tested it with an ohm meter after watching a YouTube video. It tested good. So, I thought I would take a chance and buy what I needed to add refrigerant. Again, I watched several YouTube videos. I then ordered the gauge set and this Supco valve from Amazon. Then I bought a can of R134A from WalMart. My total investment was less than $50. Using what I learned from the videos, I installed the valve and proceeded to add refrigerant. The refrigerator immediately started cooling and in about an hour and a half it made it to the set temperature of 36*. After 48 hours it's still cold. I have checked for leaks around the valve with soapy water and found none. This was a great learning experience and I have a cold refrigerator for a very reasonable expenditure. Plus I have a gauge set that I can use in the future.

Now that's the good stuff!!
Want to get a few more years from a window ac unit, this is the thing that will do it. Easy to install fast delivery good quality. I got a foreign vehicle that's a real pain to charge. I'm gonna throw one on that too. Ina throw away world we live in now and money is never a thing you can have enough of this helps with both. Kept 2 window AC units out of the landfill and money in my pocket. Win win.

Follow the instructions to the letter.
Make sure your compressor needs charging. There are quite a few other parts that may have failed and you think it's the compressor. If your evaporator coil is frozen up, you probably have a frost free freezer. Test the defrost thermostat first, it's usually the culprit. Next I would test the defrost timer. Warm freezer could also be a failed evaporator fan. There's probably more to check, but every freezer could be different than mine. If you need to charge, follow the instructions to the letter, if you do something wrong, call for service to fix and recharge your system. There are YouTube videos that will help you. Make sure to vent all air from the lines, gas only into your system. There are many things that could go wrong, but a reasonably skilled DIY'r should have no problems.

Did the job perfectly!
Great product, did the job perfectly and saved me over $1,000 from having a technician do it. I should add though that in my refrigerator the suction pipe was very inaccessible (it was behind the compressor and inverter) and I had to remove the inverter to install the valve. If you’re going to attempt this on your own make sure that you’re comfortable removing any components in the way. Also, make sure that you’re able to attach the hose to the valve once all the components are back in place and the refrigerator is on as you’ll need the suction to draw in the R134A.

Great !!
I was able to add r134a to my deep freezer myself. Saved me from having to pay a repair man no telling how much to do it. Simple to install, a little tricky getting it to take the r134a. A little bit of the r134a gets wasted, but nothing compared to a service man repair bill !! I'd definitely buy another one in the future.

Fantastic.
After 13 years, my refrigerator could not provide cooling. This item saved me $1000 for a new refrig. After watching you tube for instructions, it was easy to insert and charge. The refrig indicated the Freon as 134, so I bought a can at Walmart (I don't trust sending pressurized cans via amazon). The hardest part was determining the low pressure line into the compressor. By running the refrig (even tho low on pressure) I could feel the "HOT/Warm" line that indicated high pressure. So, I inserted on the other (cooler) line. Had this refrig for 13 years.. I dindt inspect for leaks, but if it should leak, I'll then search.

Revival for older systems needing a service port. 👍👍
Watched a bunch on YouTube videos to educate myself on this subject. Straight forward and effective. Learned a bunch, and enjoyed the process. Our system is holding pressure and stays cool. So far I’m happy with the results
