• Safe for all wheel finishes
  • pH-balanced, non-acidic, non-caustic
  • Viscous liquid stays on wheel to break up and loosen brake dust and road grime
  • Product changes color as it interacts with brake dust
  • Refill your bottle with money-saving gallon refill

Helps with removing brake dust better then just soap and water and even better than Chemical guys diablo. I love that it turns colors sometimes in the shade or weird lighting it helps identify problem areas better.

Prior to buy this, I had used and enjoyed Sonax (230200-755) Wheel Cleaner Full Effect - 16.9 fl. oz. and it works great, don't get me wrong... but at nearly $1 / ounce, it's a bit expensive. The smell also isn't the best and not something I want to breath in. I did a ton of research and was about to buy AMMO NYC Plum Wheel cleaner but the cost for shipping was insane. In doing research many people on Reddit and other forums seem to agree that AMMY NYC Plum is just rebranded Griots based on the smell and reaction. On that, I ordered a gallon and it came in yesterday. The smell has NOTHING to do with how this stuff works, but I really enjoy it, so that's always a bonus. I purchased a Rubbermaid Professional Plus Heavy-Duty Spray Bottle from my local Wally-World because it was $2 cheaper, and it's a great spray bottle for this. To wash the 4, 19" wheels on my Audi S4 I used about 5oz total, according to the hash marks on the side. I also use a bit more than the average person to clean the barrels and what not, so I'd imagine at the rate of use to get about 30 full washed of all 4 wheels per gallon jug, that's amazing to me! Most wheel cleaners have a very vague description on the back about use. This is very specific. There's also much debate about hosing your wheels down with water first then applying cleaner, or just applying it straight on a dry wheel. Most will tell you spraying down with water first will dilute the cleaner, but Griots actually says to do this, to help losen and remove any surface dust and dirt. I did this first, then sprayed the wheels down, one at a time. The bottle also suggests 3-5 minutes of time, Sonax is 30-60 seconds. I didn't time this exactly but I know it wasn't a full 5 minutes. As the solution dissolves the heavy iron materials it turns a reddish / purple color, a really nice touch. A little agitation with a few wheel brushes and sponges I use and the wheels came clean very quickly. A proper rinse and then dried with towels and I'm very happy with the results. In the photo, the clean wheel appears much brighter, but the time I got done washing the whole car and drying and back around for a "clean" photo the sun shifted, sorry about that! The wheels are factory silver.

For me, this product is awesome. My wheels have not looked this good for many years. Wet the wheels, sprayed on the cleaner and waited for it to turn purple. It never turned purple. I was kind of disappointed. After waiting a few minutes as directed I used an ABN Wheel Woolies Wheel brush and when I was done my wheels were clean. I was very happy with the results.

The Griot's Heavy Duty Wheel Cleaner works excellent and I'd recommend. I've tried others and this seems to be a step-up, and also appears to be the exact same formula (and smell) and the AMMO NYC product which is much more expensive. Spray on, wait a few minutes and either rinse off, or if your wheels are really dirty just scrub a little and then rinse.

THIS IS SUCH a great wheel cleaner ! Literally gets rid of all the dirt and grim that’s stuck between my wheels, it’s fast & magical leaves your wheels shining! You’ll literally see all the nastiness dropping off the spray in minutes, it’s interesting!

This stuff worked great on my wheels. I was slacking in the wheel cleaning department and went almost a year without cleaning my aftermarket wheels on my Jeep. There was heavy buildup that I thought would never come off. After I let this stuff sit for a couple of minutes, I could see the caked on brake dust and grime run off. After a little scrubbing, the rest came off. Now my wheels almost look new. I would definitely recommend this product if you are a slacker like myself when it comes to cleaning your wheels.

Does a great job at removing a couple weeks worth of build up but agitation is still required. Smell isn't too overwhelming but can bother some. If you have coating on your wheels like ceramic or repellent than I suggest not to use this stuff.

I've used other "color changing" wheel cleaners and while this one does take a bit longer to start the change, around 3-4 minutes, it is worth the wait. The smell is cherry like, better than others. Also, the trigger and sprayer itself is top notch. I have complete control of how much and how little product I want to use on my wheels. I would recommend this product to anyone wishing to give their wheels some good cleaning when simple car wash shampoo and brushes won't do.

I have sadly gone weeks/months between washing the wheels on my BMW. German cars are known for bad brake dust, this is no exception. This cleaner works amazingly, the key is to let it dwell for at least five minutes on very dirty wheels and let it do its work. It will not stain or damage your wheels. Like any other comparable product make sure it is not in direct sunlight when you are working with it. I use this in conjunction with the griot's boars hair wheel brush and the 4 finger wheel mitt. It is a great combo. I have used lots of wheel cleaners, this is the one I consistently purchase. The only other comparable cleaner in my opinion would be Sonax. Both are great.

Item arrived on time. I have been buying from Richard Griot since he first opened his store. Most all of his products are top notch and if, for some reason, you are not happy you may return or replace the item with no problem. The HD wheel cleaner does a very nice job without the use of harsh or damaging abrasives/chemicals that could ruin your expensive wheels.
