These totes are just what I needed for weather proof storage in front of the 5th wheel hitch in my pickup. Good price, really good weather seal gasket, perfect size. The only issue, as so many people have reported, is damage. I don't think the damage was from shipping, as the shipping box is ok, but from packing. One of the plastic latch handles was broken (on the bottom tote in the stack of four). I'm not going to send the totes back since I need to use them sooner than later, but I would love to have a replacement handle. Anyone listening? Iris? Amazon? Two more stars for a handle....... Update- An email to Iris customer service and I have a replacement handle on the way. 4 Stars now for the product and the prompt response from the manufacturer!

These containers seem very sturdy - I am using them primarily to store camping supplies, medical supplies, and other gear that might be good to have on hand in case of an emergency. The containers all arrived in good shape, and I like how easily the lid makes a good seal. I can see these boxes performing well even in more rugged conditions which is what I was wanting. They also stack together very well which aids in organization. They might be overkill for just trying to store non-critical items, but for anything that you really want to protect or have any expectation that you may need to have the container in the elements these will be a good choice. 4 of them is sufficient for my needs now, but I will certainly be buying more whenever that changes.

These bins are fabulous - the only negative is that I wish I they made them in a longer size too. They are great quality and do keep moisture and anything else out of them. I am using them on my covered patio in the Texas heat and they are great. They are sturdy enough where I can actually put a pad or towel on them and use them as additional seating when I have a bunch of people here. Height wise, they top sits just under the ledge of my windowsill.

They arrived perfectly intact no damage or broken parts. Because these containers are durable and can handle heavy items, no problem, it would be nice to have handle that are easier to grip. Also warning to consumers... if you put something in the container with any water content and seal the lid expect mold (after a few days). The seal is well made and doesn't let anything in or out. So moral of the story make sure everything you want to store is clean and dry. One more thing, when I use them I expect another person to help me carry them because of the amount of items and weight I put in them. You can obviously lift them if they are filled with blankets but the more weight you put in the harder it is to handle (obviously).

I have 8 of these units, and I love them. I can fit a surprising amount of clothes, decor, etc. in each one, and they have stuck with me through two or three moves with no problem. I've been storing clothes, decorations, and kitchen items in these in an outdoor storage unit, and whenever I open them up they seem to have protected the contents perfectly. The only thing I don't store in these is books. All the space to be used makes for potentially very heavy boxes, so that's the only warning I would give. Be wary of how you disperse your weighty items in these. Overall strong, durable, and as weather-tight as they promise.

I was a bit concerned about this purchase due to several reviews of receiving them damaged. I went ahead and purchased 2 sets of four (8 total containers) and hoped that customer service would make it right if they came in damaged. No worries though, they were delivered all in working order. I use them as storage/seats in my travel/cargo trailer. They look great and keep everything nice and organized.

I literally cannot speak more highly of these totes. Their build quality is outstanding, they seal well, and they have all of the right features. They stack amazingly well with one another because of the grooves on the top of each tote, and the tops are thick and super strong. I often use these totes as stepping stools, tables, TV stands - really any purpose needing a stable surface. I would feel comfortable doing jumping jacks on these things, and I use them to store sentimental retro video games, expensive electronic/musical equipment, and backpacking gear! Even if you pack them as full as they can go, they don't warp, and I am confident that the handles will never snap when I'm carrying them. As an added bonus, they've got padlock holes on all four corners if you want your storage to be even more secure. I will never buy anything else for long term storage again.

This tote boxes are fairly strong, and definitely weather proof and dust proof. I use these boxes to hold camp kitchen and food while camping. These boxes were left outside at over 8000' elevation during a week in the Idaho mountains. The got exposed to a day of heavy dust, then a night of rainfall, then 36 hours of snow 18" deep. There was no dust or moisture in the boxes! Latches are strong. Interior of the boxes are rectangular in shape and are easy to pack. I would say that Action Packers are built a bit stronger, but these are plenty strong and much more dust and weather resistant than the Action Packers.

Nice storage units. I bought them to keep out cockroaches and other bugs in the Bahamas. They are fairly strong and latch well. Easy to handle and they arrive in good shape. The inner gasket is a nice feature. Time will tell if they tend to get brittle in humidity and the heat of the Bahamas but I believe they will hold up well as long as they are not stacked too high with heavy items in them and are not dropped hard their corners on the floor as the plastic is very ridged and I am sure would fracture. All in all, I like them and will by another eight.

I'm an archaeologist who does lots of fieldwork. I need rugged storage and even sometimes a container like this to serve as luggage to Africa/locked storage on arrival there at the field camp. ActionPackers are clunky and have awkward interior spaces making it difficult to keep things organized. Plus they are heavy for shipping, and expensive. Back in the 1990s I purchased a great storage/shipping trunk (can't remember the brand), and it served me well for years. But then major brands started seriously downgrading their plastics, and I never again found something as satisfactory. Over the years I have bought 5 other plastic trunks, and they have all wimped out in one way or another - busted handles, busted lids, you name it, usually within 1 year of purchase, and I knew they would. The IRIS is what I have been seeking all these years. I received mine 1 month ago and based on its rugged construction I would not hesitate to take it to Africa. It's also great around the house. Neat, elegant, strong but not too heavy, and suitable for no-nonsense locking. Stacking is a breeze and yes, if you are of moderate weight you can sit on it with the lid closed. The brown colors are nice for outdoor settings - they blend in. And the gasket around the top does make this weatherproof. I'm about to buy another set of four to use in my basement to keep stuff free from summertime mildew. Many thanks for creating a superior product!
