It was actually kinda fun to watch

These surprised me. The instructions say to put the entire thing into the disposal, paper and all. I followed everything as instructed and my sink went from having a bit of a smell problem to having no smell at all. It doesn't just mask the stink with strong perfumey smells. It cleared it out. The blue foam ended up coming up in the other basin. It was actually kinda fun to watch, as dumb as I sound for saying that.

Working great

This is the first time I have purchased a garbage disposal cleaner on Amazon, though I have purchased them for years at my local supermarket. I believe Glisten may have been one of them because one was supposed to have blue foam emerging from the unit into the sink. Several reviews indicated that the blue foam that is supposed to emerge from the garbage disposal soon after inserting Glisten never reached the top of the drain, where presumably it cleans the lip of the garbage disposal unit. Although I associated these reviews with my previous with a garbage disposal cleaner, I took a chance and ordered it. I have now used the first packet from my order and it worked like a charm. I followed all the prep instructions exactly, and the blue foam emerged from the disposal as expected. Unlike other products that have instructed some type of foaming action would continue for two minutes but fell far short of that, Glisten came very close. So , in my first use Glisten performed with flying colors. This would suggest to me three possible reasons why some reviewers didn't have the same experience. First, there may have been a quality control issue in the manufacturing process that has been resolved, at least for now. Second, these reviewers may not have prepared the disposal for use according to the manufacturer's instructions (e.g., running warm water before inserting the packet or running too much or too little water during the cleaning process). Finally, it's possible the product may deteriorate over time if not properly stored. Although the outer package is resealable plastic, the individual packets are made of a degradable, septic-safe material that is far from moisture-proof. Consequently, I am storing the opened plastic package inside a zippered plastic storage bag just to be safe. If I find quality issues with the product moving forward, I will update my review. But as of now, it has worked flawlessly.

No More Stinky Garbage Disposal!

No matter what I poured down the garbage disposal to clean it, there was always a bad smell that attracted fruit flies. I picked this product up as an add-on to an order and I am so happy I did. I just dropped it down the disposal as instructed (it's very fun to watch it foam up in the drain) and the smell was gone. Completely. Not for a few days, it's totally gone, weeks later. I shined a flashlight down the disposal to see if some of the gunk was gone and it was clean as a whistle. I will absolutely buy this product again. The disposal has been a nagging problem for me for a long time and now the problem is solved. Love that!

My disposer is cleaner than clean

This is the first time I've ever bothered to use a product made especially for cleaning the garbage disposer. I normally use simple household ingredients, but they probably only clean the grinder area, without cleaning the tank. This product worked REALLY well, leaving a pleasant lemon smell. It foams up and the foam even cleaned the drain pipe like never before, so I'm confident it did the job throughout the system. It only takes five minutes or so to do its thing, so doesn't add significantly to normal housework load.

The only dispose-all cleaner that works. Those little drop in pods that are popular now just put out a lemon-y scent for an hour then vanish. These really foam up and clean your pipes from end to end. I'm not sure if they are the most "eco friendly" but if you really want to get the gunk out of your pipes once a month, this is the product to get.

Great easy cleaning product

I read about this in an article on Flipboard (news app) and it listed some of the top items on Amazon. This stuff really works and it’s easy to use. You just run warm water in your sink with the disposal and turn the water down to a slow stream, drop entire pkg in the disposal and turn it on. There’s a blue foam that suds up and cleans out both sides of the sink if you have a double sink. It worked well and I had a few pieces of vegetables come up from the disposal that must have been sitting in the disposal.

So happy I found these

I was pouring vinegar and lemon juice down my garbage disposal to try to freshen it up and it barely worked. So so SO happy I found these. They definitely work. I used two back to back the first time I did it and I feel like it made even more of a difference. It doesn't always foam up into the opposite side of the sink but either way you know its working. My garbage disposal does not smell anymore. Will definitely buy more when I need to.

Work Exactly as Stated!

My garbage disposal has had a rotten odor coming from it since I moved in and I'd tried at least a half dozen other things, multiple times, before finally stumbling across these. I was hopeful based off the other reviews, but also being realistic considering the failures of everything else. The first packet went in and after it was all rinsed away, the smell was instantly better, barely noticeable unless I really leaned in to check for it. So, I ran a second packet through, and haven't smelled anything since then. I would definitely recommend taking the time after using these to clean the underside of the rubber bit. I'd cleaned it with other products numerous times while trying to get rid of the smell, but when I cleaned it after the second packet, massive amounts of nasty gunk came off with barely any effort. I'm guessing whatever was in the foam broke all that down and made it finally come truly clean. The product smell from the packets does go away fairly quickly, but it definitely wasn't there as just a cover up. Because after a year of dreading the stench every time I had to use my sink (and being embarrassed about friends and family going in my kitchen because of it), this product has made it completely odor-free!

GREAT FOR WEEKLY MAINTENANCE...

I used to buy these in the stores but they just got too expensive. We live in an older home so the pipes tend to get cloudy with stuck on food and everything else. Using these once a week helps to keep odors down, but doesn't fully mask them. These are basically to help keep things flowing so don't expect the smells to NOT come back. It's all about hot water and making sure to regularly use these to help keep things flowing. The scent is nice, package is convienent and they are easy to use.

Worked really good

I saw these at a DIY store, and purchased them to see if they would really work. I just purchased my house, and it hasn't been cleaned as thoroughly as I would like, so I figured that even if it didn't work, it wouldn't hurt cleaning out my garbage disposal. I put it in the disposal like it said, and turned it on. At first there was a lot of blue foam coming out of the other drain, and then some blue foam started coming out of the disposal. After about 30 seconds or so, the foam in the other drain started coming out whitish, and the foam in the disposal started to recede. After the water ran for about 5 minutes or so, I could hear the swish sound and turned off the disposal. Afterwards, it does have a really nice lemon smell, and with the foam changing colors, and the amount of foam coming out, I am confident that it really was cleaning my disposal. I was really glad to see these on Amazon, and since I ran out, I decided to purchase my next batch here.
