• Great combination of L-type and T-type speedlite mounts and improved from them
  • No pre-assembly & post-disassembly. Smaller size, lighter weight, less space occupied
  • Unique speedlite mounting method: the speedlite can be clamped firmly into the mount both horizontally and vertically
  • Reliable mounting: firm clamp between 2 pieces of soft plastic, no pressure nor metal scratch to your speedlite
  • Bowens mount design facilitates most studio flash accessories, e.g. softboxes, reflectors, beauty dishes, etc

I have purchased a lot of different brackets to attach my speedlights to softboxes but this design is the best I've seen. In fact, after connecting this one up and using it I ordered another one the same day. I like the fact that the flash is not sitting on it's "foot". That way I can easily change batteries on my triggers without having to take everything apart. The other big plus is that I can mount the type S (Bowens) softboxes I use for my studio shoots to my speedlights. I was originally concerned about the material being plastic but after using these on several location shoots I'm completely satisfied with this purchase.

I wish I'd bought this sooner! It's so far been solid and sturdy, taking the weight of a medium-sized softbox with no complaints. Having this handy has allowed for some creative lighting solutions, including jamming a continuous light socket in there, to shine an LED bulb through a Bowen's-mount beautydish and boxes. Get it! It will come in handy.

I really like that this mounts the flash by holding the head of the flash, instead of mounting on a hot shoe bracket first. It seems to distribute the weight nicely, and when you have your flash mounted on a wireless trigger, you don't have to worry about how tall the flash+trigger are to align in the hole. There is a soft rubbery grip where it holds the flash, so I guess I won't be too worried about scratches, but sometimes I worry about things like that. The knobs seem to lock well enough and I've used it with a 36" octagon softbox with no problems. The ony issue I see is that the knob that locks the angle of the holder can run into the softbox I was using. Not enough to stop me from using it, but just enough to be annoying. With an umbrella holder, it's almost enough to make me consider using this for umbrella setups also, but the brackets that are typically hotshoe+umbrella (and not Bowens) are much thinner and smaller than these. Still, I might get another. Update: I upgraded 4 to 5 stars because I realize my comment about "The only issue I see is that the knob that locks the angle of the holder can run into the softbox I was using" was wrong. I found that the handle I mention has a ratchet style operation by pulling out the knob, so it won't run into any softboxes. Very impressed.

Sure, these are bulky and a bit stubborn about being adjusted. That said, if you are using flash guns in a studio setting use these. I tried the kind of mounts that clamp on the hot shoe mount of my flashes. After a couple instances of flashes falling out of them, and one hotshoe mount cracking off a flash I went with these and haven't looked back. They work fine inside a softbox and especially if you use softboxes that have the bowens mount anyway.

This product is heavy duty! I can use it for small modifiers such as a snoot, 24x24inch soft box (pictured) or something as huge as a 48inch Octobox (pictured). The cool thing about this product is that my Softbox came with a special bracket but I don't need it anymore because this product's outer portion (circle) fits it just fine. Stronger than I thought because it takes a bit of pressure to adjust the angle, but that means it won't easily fall or readjust by itself because of the weight of your modifier. I would like to have a total of 3 or 4 just to lighten the load of my outdoor setup with a strobe and battery pack. These are amazing products that can help take anyone to the next level in photography. If you're reading this just buy it because you won't regret having a few of these in your kit bag. Not to mention that you can connect any thing that has a Bowens mount.

I've had a set of these mounts for nearly a year (purchased May 2016). Before that, I'd been mounting my flashes on my tripods by their included plastic stands/bases. They ended up being stripped (many still had plastic thread screws so they quickly lost tightness), wobbly, and if/when the stand was knocked over by a drunk guest, the flash was likely to snap off or take a big hit itself. I purchased this mount for a number of reasons. The first, immediate reason was for easy mounting/unmounting. Instead of screwing a flash unit to a stand, I preferred the easier method of slipping the flash head into the bracket and clamping it down quickly. I could also tilt the flash body down at 90 degrees from the head so I could see the IR light blinking, or view and change the settings on the back of the flash. Tilting the bracket for angled lighting was easy, too, with the large plastic handle on the side. Admittedly, it's a little stiff and cranks in small jerks and starts, but on the other hand, it's firm and doesn't sag. This is especially important when using a heavy attachment, so you know it won't drift. I also like the "protective" halo of the bracket. I've had a flash stand fall once, and the bracket took the brunt of the hit on the side, not the flash itself. Just a small degree of peace of mind when people are stumbling around the reception of a wedding. And of course, I also bought the brackets for the future use of umbrellas and beauty dishes, both of which I purchased later and have used with these brackets. Their versatility have allowed me to easily and quickly adjust to whatever lighting I need for the situation. I like there's no changing or fiddling. Just pop open an umbrella or screw on a dish and go. The only downside is it can make a stand feel a little top heavy, especially when extended full height and/or with the bracket tilted back to bounce the flash up off of a ceiling. The weight distribution can be a little off center, but with a wide base, and even using sandbags when shooting outdoors in windy conditions, the likelihood of it falling over is small. The other minor thing is when I opt to use an attachment, like my FlashBender, it takes some finessing to make it fit. It's a little thick on the relatively larger heads of my Yongnuo 600 flashes, and the added thickness of the Bender means it can't be put on the flash and then slid through the bracket. First, the flash must be slid through as far as it can, the Bender attached, and then positioned and clamped. Not a huge issue as I don't use my Bender all of the time, but one that takes a minute to work with. Overall, I have 4 of these brackets and if I extend my arsenal, I will buy more.

Very well built... Neewer does it again... I am VERY impressed by this company... Holds the speedlight in place very well and attaches to my Bowens mount Neewer 30" Octagon Softbox very quickly and easily.... the tilt adjustment handle on the side can pull out via a spring and rotate freely to any position so you can tighten / loosen it while a large softbox is on there and wouldn't be able to rotate it fully otherwise... great design.

The best flash/speed light accessory EVER!!! It is so versatile!!!! I can attach the same light modifier such as a soft box, take it off of the studio strobe and attach it right to my flash thanks to the S-Type Bracket holder. No matter what I put on my flash shoe or flash head this adapter works with those accessories. It handles all my light modifiers from Umbrellas, soft boxes, beauty dishes, and also works with my magmod attachments. With out this I would have to buy a stand mount for each light and a speed ring for every light modifier and flash that I have.

With a bowens speedring, this bracket can adapt a softbox, beauty dish, snoot and even an umbrella. It enables me to use my Alien Bee light modifiers with speedlights by simply changing out the speed rings. The flash grip holds your flash firmly and leaves the flash body out to ease changing settings and attaching radio receivers. Attaches easily to my Lastolite EZ box while allowing for tilt without an added bracket. Really shines with umbrellas as it allows the flash to be aimed directly in the center of the umbrella rather than towards the top edge like standard tilt brackets resulting in better light reflection or shoot thru. As others have mentioned, the tilt requires a little pressure but I see that as a positive in that it keeps heavier modifiers swinging forward or back too quickly. All in all, a great tool for the price. I bought a second one.

One of the best brackets I have owned. Simply slip in your flash and tighten down the upper knob. This positions your flash to fire to the center of your umbrella or soft box. This bracket will allow you to use attachments with your flash that would normally only be usable with a mono-light. For example, I mount a large snoot/grid with wonderful results. If your attachment has a Bowens mount, then this bracket will allow you to use it with your flash gun. Just insert your flash and tighten down the upper knob. It does not need to be very tight because there is enough friction to hold it. I never over tighten. The amount of pressure needed to hold the flash securely does not damage the flash gun in any way. I mount a fairly large flash gun with a radio trigger attached to it. I have used this with a very large umbrella and a large softbox, and it has performed perfectly. Order this several weeks before you need it. Mine took a long time to get here. But it was worth the wait. UPDATE: March 8, 2015 Still the best speedlight holder I have ever seen. I just ordered another one.
