ok first of all these puppets are very cute and I was very pleased of the material Melissa and Doug used it is not the kind that drags on your skin and kind of gives you the creeps but made of very soft material. I have large hands and am able to make the puppet work but still they are small enough and more importantly the kids can make them work

Cute, Well Made and Super Fun!

I purchased this set along with the Zoo Friends set for my daughter for play time and story time. She loves them. She likes to cover both her hands with an animal puppet and run around the house making noises associated to the animal. Her favorites in this set is the horse and sheep. These puppets are big enough to support most adult hand sizes, which makes it handy for story time and bed time readings. Like most Melissa and Doug items, the quality is really good and well made. If you want to wash these, I recommend gentle cycle in cool water and air dry.

Great hand puppets for the little one

I bought these hand puppets after my daughter watched Einstein baby and fell in love with the "Animals on the farm" episode. The puppets are good quality ( have been put through the washer a few times ) and fit my hand with a little wiggle room. My daughter loves these puppets.

Great toy for 2-year-old

I recently purchased these for my friend's daughter, who just turned 2. I did a lot of research because it's hard to find a toy for a 2-year-old (seems like the ages for all toys are 3 and up), but these were perfect! She knows all of the animals' names already and is having fun playing with them, and it's a great toy that she can use as she gets a little older and acts out stories with them. I would recommend these to anyone looking for a great gift for a 2-year-old or any age- we adults have fun playing puppets with her too.

Great Item!

Nice quality, and encourages imagination in play. I bought this for my 1 year-old granddaughter, and she loves them. She can play with the puppets on her own, but it gives others a good opportunity to play along with her. After seeing these in use, I purchased some for other children. Great item.

Cute puppets!

I bought the farm animals and safari animals for my third grade classroom. My kids love them! I choose one to greet them when they come in each day, and every puppet has a different job. The math monkey, sheep sheriff, etc. are my teaching assistants, and are worth every penny spent.

Cute, soft, fun!

Santa brought these for my toddler and she loves them! They’re really soft, lightweight material and big enough to get my hand inside so we can make the animals “talk.” I should note, they’re too small for Dad to put on his hands but I think an adult who doesn’t have really big hands should be fine since I can fit mine.

Bought every set!

These are very colorful and soft. My large adult teacher hand fits, and so does my 10 year olds! We had a blast playing with them! I ordered all of the sets. The only flaw is that the plastic tags holding the puppets into the packaging made holes and snags in the fabric that are permanent. Otherwise great product for the money!

Takes a lickin'

My kids absolutely love them. I'm not a huge fan of puppets (they creep me out- all puppets, not just these) but my kids have been wanting puppets to play with since they saw some puppet show at this Halloween event. I try not to let my own dislikes interfere with my kids' tastes, so I started looking for the least creepy puppets I could find. These were it- they're pretty harmless and about as uncreepy as puppets get. The kids loved them from the moment we opened the box. Soft, about as cute as a puppet can be, and well-made. They have a slot in the head for their three middle fingers and the pinky and thumb go into the arms- no mouths to move, thankfully, so you know, they're nodding puppets. The kids have been carrying them everywhere for weeks- and putting on impromptu puppet shows, all that jazz. They've also tried, as the destructive little moppets do, to pull the 'body' of the puppet down to try to make it longer- applying considerable force into their efforts (it didn't work, of course); and they've (over)stuffed the puppets full of other toys and used them as bags to carry them around, and they've stepped on them, wiped their noses on them, piled chairs on them, stepped on them, played tug of war with them, and generally abused the poor things during standard child-esque play— and the puppets have held up to it all with no marks or tears yet, so well done them. To sum up: cute, soft, durable, well-made, not-terribly-creepy. Thumbs up, from a parental perspective, and all-hands-in from my kids'.

Hours and hours of puppet play time

The Melissa & Doug Farm Friends Puppets are getting a lot of attention from the twenty month old. He usually carries them in his arms rather than on his hands. He has fun making the animal sounds, playing hide and seek with them, and holding their heads up to look out the window. It is a nice selection of animals as it is easy to say and remember what each is named and what sounds they make. Definitely a favorite set of toys.
