These clippers are great! I was always afraid to cut my baby girl's nails myself, but taking her to the vet every time was very stressful for her. I used these clippers to cut her nails for the first time and now I do them all the time! It really is easy! The guard prevents you from cutting the quick, and they are so sharp that they will cut through the thickest nails, even dew claws, like butter. And because they are so sharp, you don't have to apply much pressure, so the process goes quickly and the dog hardly feels it. The vet tech used to have to put my baby in a headlock, the vet would muzzle her, and she would scream and struggle while he cut. Now, she sits on her auntie's lap un-muzzled, I cut the nails, and she may just whimper once or twice. She'll never love the process, but it is so much easier and better for her. Save yourself some money and save your dog the stress...buy these clippers!

Only used these once but so far they are very nice clippers! I was having a hard time cutting my 104lb German Shepherd's very thick nails. Multiple previous store bought clippers would either splinter/chip his nails, or they just would not cut through, or he'd chip the blades or break the clipper handle all together! These feel very sturdy and made nail cutting quick and easy with a clean cut, no splintering/chipping of the nails. My husband is the one who used them on him first but he said they were great and had no trouble cutting through the nails and was done in less than 3 minutes! We are both too scared to use the nail guard guide, had a bad experience with one years ago on another dogs nails and I just can't bring myself to trust them so I use my own judgement but that's just me personally, I can't rate these clippers about that. No complaints so far! I'd definitely recommend for any dog, but these definitely are handy with thick nailed dogs!

I lost my old nail clippers and boy am I glad I did. I replaced them with these and they are great. I have two greyhounds who don't like their nails attended to and one of them is a shrieker. These sliced through the nails so fast that one dog hardly seemed to notice her nail tips were gone whilst the shrieker never had a chance to wrestle his paw away or get a real holler going. If your current clippers are the least bit difficult to use - buy a pair of these. They aren't expensive and they are SHARP.

These are excellent clippers!! Very sharp, and I like the guard which helps you from going too far up the nail. That said, the guard is no guarantee, you still have to be very careful and make sure you know where the quick ends. The really nice thing about these clippers is they are so sharp you can nip off very small amounts of nail to ensure you are not going too. My recommendation is to start out slowly, do just a small amount of trimming and do it once per week to ensure that it is a pleasant experience for your dog.

Have a Leonberger, giant breed, use a dremmel to trim his nails but he hated it on his dew claespecially. Tried several clippers to no avail. They or I when using them were just not strong enough to cut his nails. This clipper works well.

First, I was NOT given this pair of clippers in order to award them a high rating. I am a verified buyer, giving an honest review. Next, these clippers are pretty good. They have a nice solid. They operate very smoothly and the lock and nail depth guard are easy to use. I have a 22 lb cocker spaniel with large nails. These power thru with ease and are controllable to prevent cutting too far into the nail. They are a little small in size for my handsFirst, I was NOT given this pair of clippers in order to get a high rating. I am a verified buyer. Second, these clippers are execllent. They have a nice balanced weight to them and feel solid. They operate very smoothly and the lock and nail depth guard are easy to use. I have a cocker spaniel with large nails and these power thru with ease. Only slight draw-back is they are a little small for my hands. But, overall, I'm satisfied with the clippers so far. The company touts itself as American but the package indicates the clippers are made in Taiwan.

I've never tried cutting toe nails on a dog before. I was scared to death, but I'm in Anchorage and finding a qualified nail trimmer is tougher than you'd think. I've only tried them once, but it worked great on 2 big dogs. One is a rottie who growled the entire time (muzzled) one was a golden mix who tolerated it, but would have run away if not being held. It's very solid construction, fits good in the hand, and the red gripped handles are nice. I used it with the guard up and without. It is very sharp and cut quickly and painlessly. It makes a loud snipping noise when you use it so be prepared to be startled. Especially for the price, these are amazing!!!

Even with all the positive reviews I was still pleasantly surprised at just how well these worked. One of my longhaird miniature dachshunds is very difficult when it comes to nail trimming. Normally I have to give her a break in between the front and back feet, she jerks constantly and yelps every other nail. These worked so smoothly afer she jerked her foot the first 3 nails, she was quiet and I did all four paws. They are very comfortable to use, the pressure is just right which makes it very easy to cut through the nails. I also like how sturdy the back guard/guide is. I have had other pairs where it swings all back and forth making it difficult to line the nail up so I don't take too much off at once (mine have black nails). If they fall apart later I will updare my rating, but I really see no negatives to this product. Definitely recommend!

When looking to purchase my Dog Missy's nail clippers, I scrolled through the Amazon Product Lists and saw a lot of very nice tools. I didn't know which to pick. Never cut her nails before. I prayed real quick and decided to go with the Epica Best Professional Pet Nail Clipper Large, since she is a 48 pounder. I didn't want to invest a bundle, since this was my first venture in Nail Trimming. I am so thankful that I was led to choose the Epica. It is a wonderful device. The price was so reasonable and the quality once I received it is so good, that I am thrilled to have purchased it and have used it a couple times. It has a guard on it so you don't over cut, and her nails were really long and so once the first try was so successful, in a couple days I clipped again and the nail is the perfect cut. Thank you again, and again the price was so reasonable. I've since read up on clippers and the key to successful clipping is the Stainless Steel sharpness. So at whatever point in the future I feel the clipper dulls at all, I can reorder and get another due to the price being so affordable. Thank you again, God bless you, and to any amateur attempting to do your own clipping, I highly recommend this tool. Thanks
