Our little vegetable garden has to be watered everyday. Sometimes we get busy and we forget. Or we leave home for couple weeks for vacation. In any case, we needed a basic plant watering system. All the ones we saw in hardware stores were great, but they would cost much more. This is perfect for our needs. It comes with a battery-operated timer/valve, main hose, and bunch of smaller hoses with dripping tips attached (feeder lines). It can be programmed to water for 2 hours for every 72 hours, or 1 minute for every 1 hour, and everything in between (we set it to water 15 minutes for every 24 hours). Little caution: there are NO clocks. You cannot say "start watering at 8AM" - to do that you have to set the device at 8AM first. The only issue we faced was occasional leakage on the main hose where we attach the small feeder lines. By attaching a feeder line you are basically puncturing the main tube. Sometimes we saw drops coming out from those connections. We rotate the connection, and wiggle a bit until we make sure there are no leaks. Even if there is, it's a small, negligible amount. If the hose is on/around your plant it's not a problem. If it's on a wooden deck or other structure where you do not want water to get in, always consider any possible small leakage. Not a deal breaker, but don't expect main tube to be 100% dry. So far, it is working great for our 8 tomato plants, herbs, mint, green onions, ong choy etc. Tip: for herbs and other bunch of smaller plants, instead of wasting feeder lines for each, you can use one feeder line with tiny holes punctured with a needle.

works great for large plants

These have saved my fruit trees. This works wonderfully well as a kit. it is totally worth it. You can drip or stream and tell it when to come on and how long to water for. I have it running about 200 ft away from the house out in the yard. I don't have to worry about lugging the hose around any longer. I have a well. With this system, you keep the hose on all of the time. I was worried about this, but for the past month, I have not had any problems. Again, in the summer heat, this turns on for 30 minutes at 9pm o a nice quick drip, right at the base of my new apples & cherry trees. They look so healthy and are never thirsty. It saved them!

Looks great I love what it does

Easy to set up. Had a defective timer but company was very responsive and replaced it quickly.

I just installed and perfect kit! Easy !!!!!

easy installation, use it for vertical garden works great

I installed it myself; not bad for a 70+ year old woman!

this isnt the highest quality product as my timer unit stopped working after 1 season but 1) for the price, the system in general works very well and 2) customer service was great and they replaced the unit immediately. My plants used to be near death when i went on vacation which is no longer a problem!

Review of Raindrip drip irrigator For those of you who do not know what drip irrigator means, it literally is setting a timer to water plants automatically without much human intervention. For me, it meant saving plants from suffering from thirst and inadequate watering! The raindrip irrigator was purchased with pricing, functionality and ease of setup in mind. It is now watering over 12 fruit trees and tropical plants in the hot Florida sun three times daily, without any leaks or any failure yet. Plants that were yellow at the edges of leaves are now thriving. The irrigation device is placed right on the hose faucet. I had to remove the air release attachment between the hose and faucet to prevent drips. Then the large tubes were placed and smaller irrigation 1/4 tubes puncture into the larger tube to receive water flow to the plants. Small stakes are used to stabilize the drips. The water coming out is akin to a small stream of water probably a quarter of that from a refrigerator water dispenser. All in all, very happy with the results, though planning is required to make the whole system functioning. PROS: 1) Price 2) Contains all the items you will need to set up a drip system. Be aware that it is enough for realistically 5-6 trees depending on how spaced out they are, and may need to buy more tubing and drip attachments 3) Nice color system matches decor nicely, blending in with the home; tubing is flexible and of good quality 4) You can also use a watering garden hose in addition with the Y adapter which is a nice inclusion CONS: 1) Tubing supplied is on the more minimal side; it will be sufficient if all your plants are in one line; ours was along the whole Lanai 2) The regulator seems to decrease pressure too much The system did require purchasing additional 1/4 ID tubing, though inexpensive, and several additional drips as they come in all flow rates up to 2 gallons/hr, and different spray patterns. We have one the sprays in all directions that waters a heliconia plant and 6 orchids at the plant base. The system can be configured to every so many hours, and a manual override to water at will or use the garden hose off timer. Battery power seems to be good. The drip irrigator device seems to be water proof.
