Really nice.
This fan really moves the air. To give you an idea how good this fan works, do you know those 20" box fans they sell for 15 or 20 bucks, well this Lasko 3300 fan on low blows as hard as the 20" box fan on high. No kidding. I think this is by far the best fan I've ever owned. Will post a couple pictures for you to get a better look at it. I would recommend this to anyone in need of a fan. Don't hesitate, buy it.

A life-saver on those hot, muggy days
This fan arrives already set up . You just take it out of the box , plug it in and turn it to one or the three speeds. It circulates air so well that we don't need an air conditioner in the TV room. Love it!

Absolutely great! Best fan I've ever owned.
It's hot and super muggy in Brooklyn now and this fan has been one of the best things I ever purchased from Amazon. It arrived in a crunched box and I thought I would find a broken fan inside but to my happy surprise, it was without a scratch. The wind this dynamo produces actually does cool down my hot living room (it's quite large for a mid-income building in NYC). Sadly, my old air conditioner is kaput. Several years ago, I bought a large overhead light and ceiling fan thinking it would help with sky-rocketing energy costs and I wouldn't need to run the air-conditioner on high as much. Boy, was I wrong. The afternoon sun burns up my apartment and even with the air-conditioner and ceiling fan, it tends to get stifling in here. Last summer when the air-conditioner sighed it's last cool breath, I was pinching pennies and decided I needed another fan so I bought a costly Lansko upright model locally. Total waste of money. It hardly blows any air even though it’s silent and oscillates. Still pinching pennies these days, a new AC is not an option. On top of the cost of buying one with a high enough BTU, my building's management wants $375 just for the installation because of the kind of custom windows we have under strict warranty. All this to say, the Wind Machine 3300 has been doing double-time when the temp rises over 90 and the heat index feels more like 115 degrees. Yes, it’s a little noisy when turned on high and it does not oscillate but that’s nothing I can’t live with for the breeze. I like that I can adjust where the air is blowing by tilting the fan up or down. Twice now, I’ve even forgotten to turn on the overhead fan which proves to me that this (under $40) powerhouse is a bargain. I risked the bad reviews and am thrilled with this purchase! Just keeping my fingers crossed that the Wind Machine will keep working as it is now.

Great American made fan.
Brillliant. I bought this along with a similar one here on Amazon. It replaced a metal Workforce fan I bought at Home Depot a few years ago. I love that these are made from plastic and they are made in America. This is lightweight, uses less wattage than those three-prong plug metal fans, and it moves as much air. It helps circulate the cool air from my air conditioner and spreads the cool all over my apartment. It's also quieter than a metal fan and very sturdy and doesn't tip over if you bump it like the metal fans do. I highly recommend this.

Powerhouse of a fan!
This is a great fan, and very powerful, especially for folks on a budget. It's a bit on the large side for indoor use in a small apartment, but I don't care because it's also very powerful, even on the lowest setting. It is very light and easy to move around in spite of its size. It dropped the temperature in my bedroom by two full degrees without my touching the thermostat, in only a couple of hours. So it is very good for the electric bill. The design is great for people with children or (like me) pets. There is no way to knock this fan over with the way it is shaped and the fan blades are well enclosed away from little fingers and paws. I love that I can tilt it toward the ceiling to maximize airflow in the room, or down toward the floor for drying after a good mop. It does make a bit of noise, but it's a soothing white sort of noise, and fine for leaving on all night while I sleep.I quite enjoy it, actually. I did not get any kind of discount in exchange for my review. Just really liked the product. If you find this review helpful, please click "Yes" before you go.

Great fans but customer service does not respond
My family and I own a lot of fans, from commercial fans to 1hp carpet blowers. We also own several of these Lasko Wind Machines. I like them for several reasons. 1. Quality for the price. Normally I can purchase this model (one of the 3300 series) locally for about $40. $50 isn't a bad price to get it delivered to an elderly parent's front door. Quality meaning: they work and continue to work well for many years with little maintenance. 2. Powerful for the price, construction and weight. It's a 10-pound fan that pushes as much cfm as many of my much higher priced metal commercial models that cost at least 2-3x as much. 3. I feel they're safe. As long as I keep the air-intake free of dust, they never run hot. I have left these running continuously for months without any issues. Every time I vacuum, I clean the fan. I use the large dust brush on the outside and a crevice dusting brush to reach inside. Once a year, I remove the back and give it a good cleaning. Takes a small amount of time. Lasko does not publish the CFM for many (if any) of their fans. I've seen several responses to the question on different websites about the CFM of the 3300 and they vary. Presently, I am attempting to get Amazon to contact Lasko for the info. ========== Just beware, Lasko customer service is basically non-existent. Over the last few days, I called 1-800-233-0268 six times. My shortest wait time was 24 minutes, my longest wait was 52 minutes. They have not replied to my email placed on their contact page. I had a similar experience in July of 2013 after purchasing a couple of their 4900 fans. Their fans are great but if you have an issue, make sure you return the fan to Amazon before the 30 day return period ends.

I'm the newest "fan"
I'm a classroom teacher and in our school, the teacher cannot control their own air conditioning. So in the weird spring months when the temperature can be chilly or down right hot during the day, my classroom with 32 bodies begins to heat up. I checked throughout Amazon for a fan that would do the trick. I had a box fan in my class that I borrowed from another teacher and all it did was blow hot air. After reading the reviews, I thought I would give this one a shot since it was smaller, and people seemed to love it. After testing it out, I am now a fan (no pun...ok will maybe pun intended). This fan does blow cool air and in fact on the highest setting actually made some of my students cold on a hot and stuffy 85 degree day. It will not work miracles on the sweltering summer days of 110 in the desert but it will at least give you some relief. It is easy to carry and it doesn't take up much room. In fact you can put it on a big shelf and it doesn't rattle so much that it would fall off. The noise is moderate especially when on the highest level but on the lowest and medium levels, the noise was not enough to distract my students. The quality is much better than a normal box fan. You can tell the plastic is thicker and this is more durable than the average box fan from Home Depot or Lowes. The price is great and worth it. About double the average box fan but the average box fan to me is a complete waste of money so spend a little more to get more. If you looking for a fan, this one is not very expensive and get the job done better than some of the $100 oscillating fans I've had.

Great fan for sleeping!
If you’re searching for the perfect fan that moves air and provides the white noise of a whirring fan without the obnoxious hum of a motor look no further! I’ve slept like a baby since buying this. We also use the Dohm white noise machine which sits next to bed, and that provides white noise but wasn’t making enough noise to fill the room and block out noise outside of bedroom. (Like that of a noisy teenager!) so we added fan and it’s perfrct!

LOVE IT!
Accuracy of description: The description is accurate. It does have three speeds and it does cool. I use it in my living room which is sitting at 84.5 degrees right now. I don’t feel overheated when the fan is blowing at me which is a plus. It feels great and keeps me from sweating until they finally fix the AC in our apartment after two months of waiting. Usefulness: I would say it is very useful. As described above it is the only thing keeping me from sweating with the AC being out. I hate sweating so I am very happy with this purchase. We use it during the day in the living room, and at night in the bedroom to help us sleep. It is just loud enough to help us sleep. Pros: Works, spins and blows air, No rattling noise. It is light and easy to carry, plus because it is white it’s harder to trip over. Cons: You are not supposed to move it when it’s on. I always move a fan when it’s on. It blocks the way for me to get out from my computer desk. I move it anyways and its fine so far. Recommend to a friend: I would recommend this to a friend.

Very powerful Fan
I live in a two bedroom apartment with the bedrooms on one side and the AC on the other side in the living room. As you can guess it gets pretty hot on the bedroom side of the apartment. I bought this fan to place in our hallway and push air towards our rooms. The thing is a monster and pushes a LOT of air. On its low setting it still moves a good amount of air, i'd say enough that you can feel it at 20 feet (around 6-7m), and isn't too loud. Now during the fall months i use the fan for white noise, or when its on medium or high its more of a "roar." I love that though so 5 stars. I would pick this over your traditional square box fan every day.
