I purchased this cutter because the need arose and I wanted a good, quality cutter so as to only make a one-time purchase. Although it has only been used a handful of times at the moment, it cuts very well and I don't believe I'll be needing to make another purchase anytime soon. At all. It has nothing on cheap $5 cigar cutters that are sometimes slipped in with your cigar purchase. This cutter seems very well built, as others who have purchased this has pointed out, and it is just large enough in diameter to get the job done for myself & company. It arrives in a nice, velvety black bag that is good for long-term storage. (At least, I choose to do that rather than leaving it out somewhere or clanking about in a drawer.) It's an easy purchase, it's relatively cheap for the quality, and it shall not disappoint! I'd highly recommend it to others looking to buy a nice, though not overly expensive, cutter.

Great cutter. Great price. Great finish and sharp.

I wasn't expecting much from a cutter this cheap, but I just needed something to leave in my car, and the price was right. This thing cuts nice and clean and after about 20 cigars, it shows no signs of slowing down. Very sharp, very nice.

Impressive, heavy duty cutters. I was quite nervous cutting my first cigar being that I have ruined a couple sticks with my last set of cutters due to dullness. These baby's made a nice smooth cut. They are easy to handle and provide what you what you are looking for. Not quiet sure how they keep themselves sharp though. They do come with a nice sack to keep them in. I'm happy.

Great cutter, don't know that you could do better for the money. Mine has a tiny amount of play in it as a few others have said, but nothing that effects the cutting at all, I've cut quite a few with it now and no loss in sharpness. 100% would by again and probably will when this one runs its course.

Its a beautiful cheap cigar that is great for beginners and pros alike. Its sharp right from the start, and I've cut about 40+ cigars with no problem. Nice and clean cuts, still going strong! Definitely reccomended if you're looking for a cheap cutter

I initiated this Alaska Bear cigar cutter the other day by using it to lop off the end of my very first Punch Chateau L maduro cigar. Having recently taken delivery of a box of 25 of these coveted and rather expensive (for me, at least) smokes, and having gone all-out by also purchasing accessories consisting of a nice humidor, butane lighter, humidifying crystals, digital hygrometer and the aforementioned Alaska Bear double-guillotine cigar cutter, it was with some trepidation that I carefully and nervously positioned the tip of the cigar at the business end of the Alaska Bear for its ritual circumcision. The attractive, compact, durable, finely-crafted and reasonably-priced Alaska Bear cutter performed flawlessly, cleaving the tip from the Chateau L with an effortlessness and precision of cut that I found to be remarkable. Settling back in my easy chair for for a leisurely smoke, I then ceremoniously lit the cigar, took my first draw, and as I raised a glass of fine Kentucky bourbon to my lips, knew that life doesn't get any better than this.

Great cutter, you won't find a better deal than this solid metal, super sharp, beast. It makes a satisfying cutting sound so much so that I like to play with it. Use it agressively but precisely and it will leave the end of your cigar looking amazing. Precisely cut tobacco makes the cigar look substantially different from the look cheap hacking cutters produce. I really did not expect my smoking experience to be improved to such a degree by this cutter. Again, this is the best 10 dollars you can invest to improve your cigar experience. Cut right below where the cap meets the body and it will leave a smooth, wet-looking multilayered tobacco honeycomb from which to draw your prized Havana flavor.

I've had this cutter for a year now. It has performed well each time. Stays sharp, cuts clean and is made of quality steel. Maybe even sharp enough to chop a digit (kidding). I really like that it came with a pouch. My friends always ask where I got this how much I paid for it and they don't believe me when I tell them it was under ten bucks. You don't have to take my word for it, just look at all the 5 star reviews here on Amazon!

Is there a better specialty name-brand cigar cutter? Sure. Could you spend significantly more money on a fancier cutter? Definitely. What the Alaska Bear cutter gives you is the performance of a high end cutter for a fraction of the cost. This cutter slices real smooth, and has never torn or ripped the wrapper leaf. The construction is really high quality too - It's got a nice weight and makes a nice "ping" when the cutter clamps down on the stogie. The blades themselves are razor sharp, and after using this a few times, show no sign of dulling yet. Given the price, I don't really have to baby this cutter, and I am also considering getting these as gifts for friends. Side note - the travel baggie it comes in is worthless. Lost the two beads that tighten the bag after the first week of using it.
