Works fine on a 5 foot VINYL privacy fence from home depot

Was really easy to install, 6 bolts with the last 2 attaching the sleeve in the middle while the gate is lifted at the preferred height...I used this on a typical home depot vinyl privacy fence gate that is 5 feet wide...the only negative is the sleeve/slider was marked up a bit, but nothing a paint pen marker couldnt fix in a jiffy...worked for me!

Unusual situation to use the Gate Brace

I Have 20 year old redwood gate that is sagging. After considering other products, I checked with the seller by eMail and phone for possible installation of Gate brace since my gate doesn't have typical horizontal cross member to attach the brace. they were very nice giving advice after reviewing photos. Because my gate rattles with movement from loose wood dowel pins and hidden screws, I decided to enforce mid portion of the gate with redwood blocks first and install the braces. As you can see on the "Before" and "After" photos, it turned out pretty nice for this unusual application. Particularly, I like the way the brace is to be fixed :(opposite way from the other products are installed) Lower end close to hinge and upper end away from hinge.

It worked on my gate

I have to say that I was skeptical that this product would work to fix my sagging gate. I have a gate on my deck. It's made of composite decking and is 51 inches wide. As such it is heavy and has always sagged on its hinges. This year the sagging became so pronounced that it dragged on the deck. I began looking for products to fix this. I ran across this product on Amazon. It seemed more substantial than the turnbuckle option so I decided to try it. The enclosed instructions were simple enough to follow. I also viewed the video on installation on the product website for additional clarity. I found this more helpful to see an actual installation step by step. I am a female of slight build. As such I found it helpful to have a friend help with the installation, simply to hold up the gate with the shovel while I installed the screws. The whole process took about 15 minutes from start to completion. And it worked. I was amazed. I am not sure how well the product would work if one needed to raise a gate more than about an inch. My gate only needed an inch and it worked great. If you are dealing with a sagging gate I highly recommend trying this product. It is adjustable to fit just about any size application.

So fast and easy, I couldn't believe it.

This product is amazingly simple to mount, instantly corrects any gate sag, and is very well made.I have been trying for 3 years to 'save' an 8' picket fence gate that was improperly mounted to begin with, and was sagging so badly that it could no longer be opened. Gate wheels, racking the hinges, nothing worked. Standard turnbuckles were not supportive enough, as this is a very heavy gate, "old school" if you will, when the nominal wood sizes were 1 5/8 X 3 5/8 rather than the 1 3/8 X 3 3/8 they are today. Anyway, it arrived promptly, and the instructions were so short and clear, I was thinking there was no way this would work. Lo and behold, less than 20 minutes later, my gate was hanging straight and true. As an over 50 single woman, if I can do it that fast and easy, so can you. I do offer a helpful hint if you are installing this alone, as I did. Instead of using a shovel or other fulcrum to rack the gate, I used a 2 ton hydraulic floor jack, it's easy to rack the gate up to where it needs to be, and it is much more steady while you mount the brace. All in all a perfect mount, and a straight gate. And isn't that what we all bought this for? :) I would give it more stars if I could, and I highly recommend it.

Great product

The brace fixed my old gate. I have a large gate that was part of the property when I purchased my house. Each door is 6ft by 6ft. the door was sagging and I had to lift up on the gate to be able to swing it open. I'm not a handy man by any means... and this was a breeze to install. It took me about 15min total to install 2. I lifted the door with a shovel (as stated in the instructions) and then put some pavers under to keep it level. The self tapping screws worked beautifully to secure the length. I thought I was going to have to hire someone to rebuild the gate. This completely fixed it. It opens beautifully now. Great product! I would buy it again!

Works Great on Old Fence Gate Too!

Excellent. Works beautifully. The stockade gate in the picture isn't in the greatest shape and before getting the Gate Brace it was dragging on the ground, bending, stuck in the ice and snow in winter. Installed the Gate Brace in 10 minutes and door swings very nicely and is now off the ground.

READ THIS IF YOU ARE STUMPED BUILDING! People said this was easy, and it was once i figured out the purpose of the two holes in the middle of the bar. Follow the instructions (ie. attach bottom bar, attatch top bar)...put shovel under the door. Then I was stuck! I kept thinking there needed to be two more holes for the screws to go all the way through the center bar. There doesn’t and isn’t supposed to be. Drill through the metal. This holds the gate up. Once I did this it was super simple, but the directions were not clear on this and almost had me returning the product. Great product. Did work! I just didn’t think it was clear for that one area and I do ALOT of DIY around the house by myself and I was stumped until I watched a YouTube video of another product. I would buy again.

Worth Every Penny.

I suppose a wooden brace perfectly mitered and pre drilled would go up as easily. However this thing went up inten minutes and my gate that was flimsy and sagging is perfect. Cannot recommend more highly

Easy and Effective

This installation took me about 20 minutes. It's super-easy and the instructions are excellent (they have pictures, and they tell you important little things like prop the gate up one inch above level before drilling into the metal). Though they ship extra screws for future use, you will need some tools of your own. Specifically, a drill, a bit for piloting into wood, a bit for piloting into steel, and a socket wrench. I'm picky about aesthetics, and while this metal bar isn't a beauty, I can't imagine it looking any better than it does. Black blends in better than any other color, and the form factor is about as minimalist as it gets. There were a few scratches down to the bare metal right out of the box, so I used some clear coat to seal them (or else they would rust come the winter). All in all, a great purchase - thank you for making this!

It Works ! Fixed our front Gate door !

Finally our front gate fixed. About to replace the whole gate until we found out that our front gate was custom size. Tried wire anti-sag gate kit but didn't work. Glad I found gate brace kit. Lot easier to install(Spent about 20 mins installed it by myself). Note: I almost return the kit because of missing 2 holes in the middle until I found out that you need to use the special screws(included) to drill through the inner metal and screw in. My gate no longer dragging/stuck. You need Power Drill, shovel or something to lift the gate. I also installed gate caster to relieve some stress on the hinges. Its all good now =)
