COULD NOT LOVE IT MORE
COULD NOT LOVE IT MORE. I was super skeptical, I had a friend who has a different electric fireplace---she convinced me to take a chance. This thing is friggin awesome. LOVE it. I almost get the "heat goosebumps" that I get when I'm really close to the fire based only on the warm color/light. And there are light patterns that project onto the back of your fireplace spot that makes it look CRAZY realistic. If you're on the fence, just pull the trigger...I am 100% sure you will love this. Further, I thought I needed a fireplace screen to sort of camo the unit--to make it look more real---but honestly, I didn't even need it. Just the icing, this thing is hyper realistic. I can't say enough about how happy I am with this thing. :)

Great alternative to a real fire!
The first time I ordered this product, it arrived damaged. I returned the insert because it was damaged and received a new one straight away. The new one was not damaged upon arrival. It was easy to set up and instructions are clear: DO NOT PLUG INTO AN EXTENSION CORD. We have only ever used this plugged directly into the wall and we have had no issues. It blows out nice heat and we love that it is remote controlled. You can run the fire light feature without having to run the heat, which is nice. We bought wood smelling incense that we burn while the insert is running and it is an excellent alternative to an actua fire. I look forward to many more years of use.

Everyone needs one of these!!!
I couldn't be more happy with this purchase! We have/had a gas fireplace with gas logs. We tried them last year and they smelled so strong. Plus, my husband didn't like using gas for the fireplace. I priced local companies for having them pull out the gas logs and putting in an electric fireplace and it ranged from $1200 - $3600 "depending". I found a plumber to come take them out and cap off the gas line and bought these logs thru Amazon. The plumber charged me $65. Bought this unit with my Amazon Prime points. I'm very excited at the bargain and the quality of the product. I couldn't get the picture to post but my little maltese loves it too and lays nearby for the warmth and the movement. I bought the little sound box but we like it fine without it. The box didn't have authentic sound. Highly recommend this unit!

Perfect Fireplace Addition
Perfect for our needs.. We bought this as an alternative to the very expensive options we explored such as gas and electric inserts. We thought we would go for the least expensive option just to determine what we would like in the future. Lucky for us that this worked out just great. We disassembled the fireplace screen we had to remove the bottom plate so that the heater located on the bottom of the log set would not be obstructed. This unit threw off enough heat to raise the temperature of the room 10 degrees which is an opened living room and dining room L shaped area. We didn't have to heat up the whole house just to sit in the living room. Perfect fireplace insert, perfect ambiance, and perfect price point. The only thing missing is a thermostat but it does have two settings. You won't be disappointed with this choice.

Pretty slick for an electric fireplace
Wow! For an electric fireplace, this thing is pretty slick. I have done a ton of research because I am really picky about the flame looking as realistic as possible. The appearance of the flames comes from a projection that reflects off of whatever surface is behind the unit. The flames are adjustable mechanically, but can further be adjusted to your liking by moving the unit closer to or farther away from the reflective surface behind it. I feel like this flame is fairly realistic, especially as compared to most other electric fireplaces on the market. The Dimplex company does makes a great looking product, but for 1/3 of the price, this log set by duraflame is a solid option and a great buy! Furthermore, the logs themselves are very nice. It looks pretty decent, even when it is turned off. It is very quiet while just having the flame effect on. The heater generates a small fan noise, but no more than any other electric heater or a blower on a real fireplace would. I did not find noise to be an issue. It does not make any crackling fire sounds, but you can buy a crackle box to add to it if that is important to you. The Comfort Smart crackle box does a decent job of this. I have not tried out the heater too much, as I have just unpacked it and it's currently just sitting on the carpet. I had it on for a few minutes and it seemed to blow out some pretty decent heat! It did get quite hot, so I would not recommend using it without some sort of heat barrier. It is meant to be used inside an existing fireplace. I will work on adding a video :) Hope this helps!!

Duraflame is the most realistic ever!
I'm very very very pleased with this!! It's looks so real looking! It throws out just enough heat to really feel like the real thing! I was skeptical at first and even put off buying this for awhile but I decided to take my chances on it after reading all the great reviews on it and WOW I am not disappointed. I'm gonna get the sound crackler next to give it that last real effect it needs! The only thing I would do to maybe improve it just a little is if maybe make it a tad bit brighter and have the Fire crackler already installed in it so you don't have to buy it seperatly. I really am very happy I bought this! These are my actual photos of this fireplace insert minutes after I just took it out of the box and plugged it in! Awesome!

Died after 1 week, amazon replaced. New one works great. Would recomend
UPDATE- Amazon replaced and item has worked great. Keeps the front half of the house warm, Love It!!! Thought I would plan ahead and bought in the summer. When we got it we tested it and everything was great. Worked fine, no problems. Just recently the temperature started dropping outside and we started using the item. We only had about a week of use before the unit started clicking and popping, now it won't turn on. When it did work it was great and heated the whole front half of the house. The flame effect was a nice touch. Hopefully it was just a bad unit. Unfortunately our return date was 30 days after the unit was purchased. This was August when it was still hot outside. Hoping Amazon can help out with a return on this. Amazon returned the Item, with 1 day shipping. Amazon has great customer service.

Very Pleased with Log Set
We've only used these logs in our fireplace for a couple of weeks, but we are truly happy with them. (Our intention is to use only for looks and not for heat, so we are not using the heater at all.) We purchased these after a less expensive electric set just didn't work out due to an annoying motor whine. This set has a mild sound that sounds like logs burning, and the sound is so slight that most other noises (like conversation or the TV) block it out entirely. These logs are easy to use and look so cozy in the evenings. Our granddaughter thought we had purchased gas logs! Love the remote, great price.
