Daughter LOVES!!!

I purchased this and along with additional bands for my 6 year old for Christmas. She loves it. I was a little worried after talking to other moms who said they ended up throwing these out when their kids got them. Super sturdy and very easy to use. She has already made hundreds of bracelets on this loom since Christmas. She watches a lot of tutorials on YouTube and ends up with a bunch of different designs. Great product!

Should be described as HUGE!

This carrying case is sturdy and humongous! It has many movable dividers, so you can have many different colors and keep them well organized. There is more than enough space to hold two looms and 10+ colors of bands. The handle is built into the case, so there is no worry of it breaking off and the two closing clips feel strong and hold the lid closed tightly. Compared to the other cases I have seen, this one is better made and more flexible. Many of the other cases make it hard or impossible to customize the size of the compartments. I did have to buy a smaller case for travel, but this one is great!

Great kit! Now my daughter is not limited into what she can make!

My daughter loves making all sorts of rubber band bracelets, charms, phone cases--anything she could either find on the web. The loom she had limited her to what she could make, and not having a hook further those limitations. We decided to look for a loom and hook combo that would allow her to make practically anything she wanted to. Of course, once she seen this Rainbow Loom kit with both the detachable loom and hook, she instantly wanted it. Now that she has it, she has been making EVERYTHING nonstop. The bands and plastic hooks only added to her huge collection of bands. She's happy with it, and that makes me happy.

Great craft activity hours of fun

I bought this for my daughters birthday and she loves it....she loves to look up videos to create different things with her loom. My daughter is 9 and I thought she might be too old for this but she loves it...she is crafty and loves using her imagination so it is perfect for her still. She will spend hours doing different bracelets and that is a plus for me to keep her occupied doing something other then electronics. she does get frustrated when she messes up and sometimes has to take a break then go back to it and she can usually finish without frustration. This is where you learn though when you make a mistake you learn how to do things better. Fun crafty activity!!

This Is The Loom To Get!

I almost purchased another brand from Hobby Lobby on sale before doing my research. After reading all of the reviews for the original Rainbow Loom I knew the Rainbow Loom was the one to buy. Being new to this craft, I didn't quite have a grasp of what was available in this line. I had added the Original Rainbow Loom and the new metal hook to my cart, but then found this set. Do yourself a favor and choose this set over the other brands and the Original set. The loom itself is very well made. The metal hook is a quality piece also. I haven't tried to use the small blue plastic loom yet so I can't speak to its ease of use or usefulness. This set is all you need to get started. Rubber bands are included and the storage compartment for the rubber bands has a lid. I'm very impressed with this set and would purchase it again.

Very nice loom!

Wasn't quite sure which loom to buy since I have never used one before, it needed to be easy enough for me to learn how to use so I could teach my Granddaughter some basics when she came over. While waiting for this to be delivered I even found some helpful videos online, I figured if 7 year old little girls could make all these really pretty bracelets then this Grandma should be okay. :) This loom really is easy to use, the posts on the loom hold the bands securely. You just push them down over the posts and use the metal hook to stretch them over to the other posts. You secure the bands with one of the 24 large C-clips that are included in this kit. This kit also comes with 600+ multi colored bands to help get you started. There is also a small bonus mini loom included that you can use to make a fishtail pattern. Fun craft idea,...the kids can make, share, and trade bracelets with their friends.

Improved "classic"!

Rainbow loom is great! My 6 year old loves it and can do it with a little help. This model is a big improvement over the older style with the plastic hook. Wish it came with better instructions, but we just look on youtube.

Looming Fun with Rainbow Loom

I have a few types of looms now. Rainbow Loom is my favorite by far. - The pattern on each peg is a C, which helps keep bands on the peg. My other looms only have a tab that overhangs one side which allows bands to slip off while I'm looming. This is especially annoying in advanced patterns when a slipping band can ruin an entire design or beginner loomers that get frustrated over the slipping bands. - Rainbow Loom allows for multiple set-ups for the loom itself. The loom is made up of three peg strips and three connectors. The connectors are removable to allow for different configurations and additional units to be attached. You can have a staggered configuration (most looms come in this formation and doesn't allow for change) and a straight configuration (all pegs lined up and loom is in a rectangle). Though the configuration isn't THAT important since a design can be done on either, it is helpful for younger loomers. It also allows for entire rows to be removed for specific designs. - When adding additional units (using only one unit does not make very long bracelets), removable connectors make loom more stable than other looms. -Since the peg strips come out, if a unit is broken, it can be replaced without buying a new loom. The downsides are: - Item only comes with about 600 bands, so you'll need to purchase some more. Luckily these are cheap if you find the right kits. - This loom seems smaller than my others by a column or two, but as stated earlier, the addition of a second loom makes up for the lack. Also, even with the extra pegs, the bracelets aren't big enough.

I got caught in the rainbow loom craze....

Yes, I got caught up in the rainbow loom craze. The idea was neat and the kids' liked it, I liked it because I was able to get it much cheaper and got the set that I preferred they play with. If you are looking for rainbow loom, you're either already dedicated to buying it because of your kids or buying it for another kid as a present. In either case, get this one as a gift and you'll be fine.

This is the toy!

Best loom ever! This is the great loom for patient kids that enjoy crafts. The rainbow loom is an amazing toy awarded "best toy of the year 2013". My daughter claims it's addicting and she uses her loom everyday. As for understanding the art of rainbow loom, "Youtube" has been a lifesaver. Many adults have set up an amazing selection of videos, or "tutorials" for our youngsters. They are easy to understand. Tackling the skill and concept of rainbow loom can be difficult, thats why I only recommend this toy for patient kids that are willing to take time to tackle the skill. Once they got it they will blossom into making things that will impress you, I would totally buy this product, for it has brought so much joy into our household. The bands are cheap and easy to purchase. For you can purchase them right here on amazon or buy them at your local craft store. Your kids may take the looming art a little far after learning the concept. Elizabeth (my daughter) wants to sell her designs on ebay! I told her later this summer we will make that dream come true, Elizabeth is a very talented little girl that has big dreams. Rainbow loom has brought out her inner star and has really helped her express her love for crafts. Rainbow Loom has been a true lifesaver and I don't Elizabeth will be giving up her amazing hobby anytime soon. Parents, please buy your children a rainbow loom. I promise they will love it, just give them time to learn the concept. It makes a lifetime difference!
