Very pleased. I like that it is fairly small and ...
Needed a compressor to inflate fifth wheel tires to 110 PSI. My old one would only go to 90. Have used this compressor twice to fill the tires and it works well. Very pleased. I like that it is fairly small and fairly light so I will be able to carry it in the trailer. Tried an inexpensive 12V inflator and it did not work. Would recommend to others that they buy.

Small, 110V, lightweight and 165psi....✔
This compressor is being used mostly to run some nail guns and maybe air up an occasional tire on lawn equipment. A lot easier than running hoses to our 80 gallon 220V compressor and waiting for that to pump up. Checked it out real good when it arrived knowing that some other reviews had issues with damage. Ours got here in one piece with nothing broken thankfully. I like the sturdy handle on top to carry it. Weighs 30 pounds. Pretty light. Also has a place to wrap the power cord to keep it out of the way. Three feet on the bottom have a rubber cover to keep the noise level down. LIKE: 1.) Light about 30 or so pounds. 2.) Has rubber feet on the bottom. 3.) Pumps up to 165psi. 4.) Sturdy carrying handle. 5.) Place to wrap the power cord so I won't trip over it..👀. Not So Great: 1.) Can't think of anything yet.😃

Used to replace a Craftsman unit. Very happy with the upgrade.
I'm just an average DIY home user. Used this to replace an older style Craftsman. A lot of reviews seems to comment on the "noise" level. In regards to other pancake compressors it might be slightly quieter considering it does 165 PSI. But it is still a compressor and I would rather it fill faster and to a higher PSI then be 1db quieter. Overall it's a compressor and sounds like a compressor. Build construction is pretty stout right down to the quality rubber feet. Easy to operate and see tank pressure along with regulated pressure. It has 2 ports at a right angle. Easy to change if you want to go to 3/8 and easy to connect multiple lines/tools. So far, unit does a great job holding pressure over time. Overall I would purchase again!

Good buy!
This worked well - I replaced a new unit that I had purchased from a local big box store (their store brand) which failed after the 4th use, This one is quiet (relatively) and light. I can move it around and even fill it up and throw it in the back of the jeep to help me "air-up" after a good day of trail riding.

High Quality Good Air Compressor
I've had a few air compressors over the years and used them for car repairs, furniture building, upholstery, household projects, etc. The Dewalt 6 gal 165 psi air compressor is a well-built, high quality, machine that will fulfill almost any need for the homeowner or contractor doing smaller projects. Actually, I could see a contractor using this compressor in the field when they need the compressor to be closer and smaller. I tested this compressor right out of the box. Since I was testing and needed a new compressor hose, I used a new hose to fill tires with a gauged tire inflation tool. Plus, I calibrated my compressor before use. When using this compressor with the gauge, it maintained consistent inflation pressure for quite a few minutes before kicking on. Plus, testing with different nailers, it performed well. One thing about this compressor is that it is not as loud as other compressors the same size and type, but it is still not quiet. Deal with it. Wear hearing protection. But, it is still relatively quieter than other models. I'm glad a spent a few more bucks. I got what I needed and it works well. Remember to calibrate your compressor! As always, I test products thoroughly before adding any review to Amazon.

Dewalt qualtiy, worth the price.
I almost did not purchase this item because it cost more than the other (more popular) comparable offerings from Bostich and Porter Cable. In retrospect I am glad I did. It is relatively quiet, and works just as I had hoped it would. I am a Dewalt fan and have many of their 20 and 12 volt battery tools which all have worked great for me. One thing of interest I can add. I read on several reviews of other pancake compressors that a break in procedure of running the motor with the drain open for 15 minutes was crucial for continued long term use. However after going through the instructions carefully, I did not see this requirement. I called Dewalt and was told that this was true for their older models but was not needed for this model. He said just start using it as you need to right out of the box. He said it would not hurt it to do the break in procedure, but it was definitely not necessary.

Good so far
After much research settled on this one for general air needs around house and garage. Worked perfectly out of the box - performed 15 minute open valve burn-in even though not required on newer units. Left 150 psi in tank to test for leaks - went three weeks still at 140 psi. Use industrial connectors for hoses and tools - not automotive.

Great compressor, not as loud as the others, well thought out unit.
I've had various small compressors and they are usually louder than the 80db rating they get, that high pitch kind of noise that is hard to talk over. Listen to youtube reviews of many compressors and you'll know what I mean. This DeWalt one is rated at 75 but it's more of a Harley Davidson exhaust sound rather than a high pitch race bike exhaust sound. It's fairly loud but not bad, can talk over it if you aren't very close to the compressor. The regulator is variable and easy to adjust to the desired setting. Drain valve is placed not in the center bottom where the water/condensation accumulates, but rather on the side of the tank just about where your see the feet welded on. This means to drain it, pick it up and tilt it, then open the valve. At 160 psi or so the air bursts out with quite a bit of moisture for such a small tank. I paid more for this compressor than the other brands but am very happy with it. The 2 quick connects that are on this unit are like my picture shows. I'm not sure what the style is called. I wanted the C type used in most automotive applications so I had to remove the 2 quick connects from this compressor and change them. I believe woodworking uses the style like I have in my picture, if so, you might not have to change them out like I did.

Buy one!
I purchased a Porter Cable from Lowes to replace my Craftsman after 20 years. The Porter Cable did not work out of the box. Bad regulator valve and it was noted in the reviews. So, I purchased the Dewalt since I numerous other Dewalt tools. This is one of the nicest small compressors I have had the pleasure to use. Right out of the box it went to work. Did a lot of nailing and it very seldom found the need to recharge. It is quieter than the my old Craftsman and well made. I am very happy with it. Looking forward to years of using it.

This is great for small everyday jobs
I wanted an air compressor, but didn't really need a full size one. This is great for small everyday jobs, inflating tires, etc. It's small enough you can move it around the house or carry it with you very easily. I have not had any issues and this seems to be well constructed. I would say it is somewhat less noisy than similar compressors.
