Works great in an airplane C172
I waited a month or so and several flights to write this review so now I can honestly say that it works great in an airplane for a fraction of the cost of a ram mount. It takes a little getting used to because your site picture will be different now that you have added an iPad to the mix. I use it for navigating and it’s extremely handy while reading approach plates. I use it in a Cessna 172 and I like to mount it to the left side of the windshield with a landscape orientation. I live in Texas where the thermals during the summer time are awful and this mount holds my full size iPad (case and all) in place. The mount is also adjustable to fit any tablet on the market to include an iPad mini. Just the other day I was crossing the southern New Mexico dessert and experienced some moderate turbulence and the mount still held strong. Highly recommend this every pilot that utilizes an EFB and doesn’t want to spend a rediculous amount of money on a mount. In my own personal opinion, 40-150 dollars for an iPad mount is absurd. The price point is spot on and well worth the money.

Almost Perfect
I have gone through at least 4 other tablet mounts over the past few years to hold my 7-8 inch tablet for use as a GPS/Dashcam while driving. Most of the mounts I have used have poor suction cups that wear out in a few weeks or claim to be "Universal" but are only built to hold a small number of tablets - this mount has none of those problems and is a pleasure to use. It does not obstruct the rear camera of my Nvidia Shield which allows me to use it as a dashcam and the suction cup feels like it will hold up an elephant. My only complaint is that the tablet holder needs a bit of work as it will easily hold tablets up to an inch thick but can be a bit akward when holding a modern thin tablet. I would like to see this improved a bit as my tablet can sometimes flop around in it.

the suction cup has never failed me and the grips are adjustable enough to provide a good hold on the device
Only use it sparingly but on the occasions I have used it, the suction cup has never failed me and the grips are adjustable enough to provide a good hold on the device. I used it successfully with my Dell Venue 8 Pro, and it has good adjust-ability to where you want it to sit.

Taga looga at dat guy with da tv on his dash.
Works great. Look like blind fool with a tablet stuck to windshield following google maps. Well I tether my tablet and use google maps and its much easier to see, use and work with. Looks a bit goofy on dash but its sooo much easier to see. Just please be careful not to put it near the passenger side in case an airbag goes off and hurdles this toward you or your passenger.

I am 100% pleased. I used it last weekend on a trip to vegas from Cali and it held up perfectly. I own the tab 4 10.1 inch. Theres little tricks to making it stay seeing the tab is thinner. However it did work. Never slipped out or fell off the windshield. GPS'ing off of my tab was pretty cool. Nice big screen. The mount is reliable. I didnt listen to negative reviews, i recommend you dont either. Try it, its worth the couple bucks this mount cost.

Works best with phones and small tablets
Works pretty dang good. BUT. Anything heavier that a mini iPAD will cause it to droop and even lose suction with the window. And... If you have buttons on the sides of the tablet/phone, you may have trouble finding the sweet spot for it to sit on the holder without pushing buttons because the 'grippers' aren't adjustable. I used it religiously for about two months. Now that I've learned my way around, it's just not worth the aggravation. Next week I'm taking a 12 hr road trip.... It'll be worth the aggravation then...

Go for 5 stars for the design.
I don't care with all the negative reviews, But this item works great for me. Easy install, and hold my iPad very tight, even I drove my car on the bad road. My wife loved it so much, from now she doesn't need to hold her iPad on her hand when she want watch the video. Thanks a million for the design, it 's also the price is great. Highly recommend this product to all.

Holds well over bumps
I primarily bought this to replace a similar mount that could not hold a 10" tablet steady while on some light offroad driving. This one is nice and strong. I used the arm (without the suction footpad) on my recent trip (and initial test run for this mount)and this did not fail me. The fact that it is a larger (metal) ball joint, and much more sturdy bolt/clamp, have made a huge difference to the ability to have a stable platform while going over some rough(er) terrain than the average driver would encounter. Mind you - I'm not talking about offroad racing so don't expect miracles out of this!! ;)

A good sturdy device for tablets/large phones
I bought this for an 8" tablet and found it to be more than enough to handle the size and weight of my device. The unit grabs onto the windshield with a good strong bite, and holds the device pretty solid with minimal vibration/wobble. It's pretty adjustable so can be articulated into many positions around the dash and other obstructions. The only minor complaint I have is that the jaws which hold the device in place can be difficult to adjust/access from the rear in tight places. This won't be much of a problem with permanent/semi-permanent installations, but will take some extra time and effort to clamp/unclamp your device in place if you plan to take it with you each time you get in and out of the vehicle. I found that once I had the jaws adjusted for my device, I could slightly bend the top jaw upwards a little to release the pressure, and then slide my device in or out side-ways. This turned out to be far more quick and convenient than using the lever on the back of the unit to clamp and release the jaws each time. Overall I like this unit and would recommend it to others.
