is easy once you get the hang of it

Very solid design. Apart from the two feet difference out from the vehicle, this awning is very similar to the ARB awning. Takes a time or two to get used to deploying solo but, is easy once you get the hang of it. Mounting is a bit of a trick. The awning comes with L brackets, mounting bolts and nuts and a pair of U bolts. I had to fabricate two brackets to mount to my rain gutter then, drilled two holes in each to bolt the rail to the brackets. Love this awning and for the price, you can't beat it.

Love this awning

Love this awning. Easy to operate, secure installation, provides excellent shade. Shipping was just a few days. Although the first one arrived damaged. Vendor send a replacement within 7 days and picked up the old one. Looks great on my Honda Odyessy. I installed it on my Yakima racks. I installed 7/8" dowels into the round rod, secured it, drilled hole into the dowel for securing the awning. I did install one additional L Bracket to make double sure that the awning was secure. I would highly recommend this awning.

Round out your RTT w/ Annex!

Excellent. As with my matching RTT and the RTT Annex from Smittybilt: everything has attached well to my small camper. And all three items have combined to make for a quite unique camping experience.

Like it!

Great value for the money. Easy enough for one person to set up. I replaced the rope with 550 cord and I use taught-line hitches instead of the included plastic things so I cannot say how well those parts would stand up. Looked decent enough though.

Love mine!

Love my awning. Takes a bit of getting used to to deploy it by yourself but it’s ok. Don’t buy the more expensive brands. They’re all built exactly the same dang way with the same materials. The Smitty is quality.

Bought this for our VW bus. Easy to set up. One person can set it up with no issues.

My review

My install was on a 2018 Chevy Colorado with an ARE Camper and Thule Rack bars. PRO TIP: I had help from my daughter BC it would have been very hard to manipulate an 8-foot awning by myself. Instructions were good for me. My awning was well packed and undamaged due to shipping. I haven't used the awning as of this review.
