Tool works as expected
Used this to replace pads and rotors in 2008 Camry. The tool is simple and does the job. One can use C clamp to compress the breaks but this tool works just as well and if C clamp can't be fitted this tool will fit since it goes where brake pads go. Tool is well make and using one of the old pads the caliper can be pushed in very simply. Would recommend it if you work on your brakes yourself.

I cant believe that I have not had one of these until now
This review is for the Heavy Duty model. It was much easier to use than a C clamp on my recent single piston brake job, I am sure there will be a bit of fumbling with a dual piston setup and having to use an old pad to compress them both at the same time but not more than with a C clamp. Only downside - knob is plastic, I think the socket head that sticks up through the top of the knob is actually the top of the screw and is metal but the knob appears to be plastic which is always a risk for stripping out on a really tough job. But at least if it does strip out you still have the option of the socket head where you would not on other models. Although with how easy it was to turn the knob and compress the piston, I dont see it ever happening. As far as its stoutness, its not quite as heavy as I thought it would be but it sure worked well and I dont see it ever getting pushed past its limits. All in all I think it was worth every penny and is a great addition to my toolbox.

Simple and functional
I used this to assist with the replacement of the rear brake pads of my 2013 Audi S4. Once the electronic parking brakes were retracted using a Foxwell NT614 ODBII, it was easy to push the piston back to accommodate the new brake pads. This tool is not required, but it makes it easier.

Works better than “C” clamp
As with all car work, having the right tools can save you time and aggravation. This light and cheap tool works great by pushing back the caliper piston. I used a C clamp before, but it is big, heavy and hard to control. This little tool did the same job as the C clamp but just faster. For the price of a couple of premium coffees, this capris tool is a great buy.

Works
This tool is meant to be used after you remove the caliper from the rotor. You leave the rear brake pad in the caliper then use this to screw down the pad flat so the piston is back in its place. Remember open your brake fluid tank and make sure you don't overflow it as fluid will be pushed back up (unless you're changing the fluid and disconnected the hose already which is highly inadvisable because if you get air into your antilock brakes controller you can not fix that by yourself. So don't do that.) To remove the caliper take a large heavy duty flat head and stick it between the rotor and the brake pads and push it open enough to slide off.

Made it very easy to spread the pads on my Ram truck
Made it very easy to spread the pads on my Ram truck. Its a dual piston system, so I had to push one piston in and then hold it with some channel locks while I pushed in the second caliper. No big deal though, got the job done quickly and easily. I tried spreading pads on my Tundra without this and accidentally tore the rubber gasket... had to buy a rebuild kit to fix it. This was cheaper, easier and less time consuming!

Very nice tool...Buy it!!!
I really did not want to spend a ton of money on tools because I was already sick of spending money on my wife's car. I needed to change my wife's brakes and found this lovely item. BUY IT!!!!!!!!! It will make your life a whole lot easier! Way worth the price. The quality is great and will last a lifetime for those who change brakes every 5 years or so. Great product and would highly recommend.

Sturdy contruction; worked perfectly for me
Only used it once so far, but it worked perfectly. Construction seems sturdy. As other reviewers have noted, keep one of the old brake pads and used that to push on the piston. This spreads out the pressure evenly and helps ensure you are not trying to push the piston at an angle.

Buy it if you're doing a brake job
I had done the brakes on my cousin's car, and we didn't have one of these - used a crow bar to push the pistons back in. When it came time to do my car, I got one of these and BOY is it so much easier. No hassle at all. A very good, quality product at a surprisingly low price. If you need to do the brakes on your car and are replacing pads, buy this because you're going to need it.

Easy to use and heavy duty.
I can’t imagine needing something this beefy to push a caliper piston back in. It is extremely heavy duty. If you have a hard time getting yours in with this tool, it would be incumbent upon you to get new calipers. I used this for my Camry calipers and my F150 that has a two piston system and this pressed them in (with the help of the old pads) very easily. I only had to use the knob, not the handy tip for use with a socket or wrench.
