The best decision I ever made was buying this Tiger rice cooker
I'm Japanese-American and I cook (usually white) rice every single day, so all I wanted in a rice cooker was something that cooks rice well. I didn't need it to be able to steam veggies, or slow cook, or anything else - I just wanted something that's gonna give me solid, delicious rice night after night, and this rice cooker absolutely delivers that. (It can totally steam veggies though.) My personal pet peeve is "burnt" dried/hard rice you get on the sides or bottom of cheap rice cookers, and with this Tiger, I don't have to be concerned about that at all because it cooks the whole pot evenly. And man, is it fast!! Maybe it's because I've only had cheapo rice cookers all throughout college, but I had no idea that making 3.5+ cups of rice in under 30 minutes was even possible. I highly, highly, HIGHLY recommend this rice cooker if you're looking for a no-frills, solid appliance that's going to give you amazing rice every time.

A MUST HAVE for Rice Eaters
WOW! An excellent purchase. I read all the reviews and learned this is one of the top brands in Rice Cookers. I have always bought Cuisinart Rice Cookers - what do I know. I was really anxious to try it when I recieved it yesterday. I used the synchronize cooking method. WOW! WOW! WOW! The rice came out nice and fluffy and the dish cooked really well too. My husband was totally impressed with the look of the product, the taste of the food and the price. It is truly worth every penny. I highly recommend for all you rice eaters out there to invest in one. Dump your old one - you will not regret it. I am thinking of buying the 10 cup as well. Thank you Amazon for another great purchase.

Sweet beauty smol rice child
I love this rice cooker. My last one broke so i was looking for a replacement. This one is amazing. Comes with everything you need including a cookbook! My last one had a removable lid for the steam valve with a silicone ring that got lost 2 weeks after getting it (no replacement parts) so im super happy this one has everything built in. Cooks rice and pork like a dream

Kinda big, but works great. If its spitting, you're doing it wrong
Bought this to replace my 3rd crapped-out Aroma. First thing I noticed is that its REALLY big, like this thing is meaty. Def not really a permanent counter-top device. So far it works fantastically, though. I haven't tried using the dual cooking feature yet, but every batch of rice has turned out great. Just wanted to address something real quick, though. If this device is spitting out the top vent, that means you did it wrong. I only say this cause I see a handful of ppl who clearly aren't following the instructions and are complaining about starchy spray. This is cause you didn't wash your rice. Wash and drain your rice in cold water multiple times (usually 3-4 times) until the water is mostly or totally clear. This is something that every rice cooker tells you to do in the instructions, including this one.

Better than our Zojirushi
I purchased this after our beloved Zojirushi rice cooker broke. I liked the Zojurushi but it didn’t seem to have a very long lifespan. So far, this rice cooker has been fantastic. We cook rice/quinoa several times a week and it cooks perfectly. The keep warm function works very well and doesn’t result in any crusting at the bottom (happened a lot with the Zojirushi) or over drying. One unexpecting huge bonus is the cooking plate, Synchro-cooking, feature. I did not think I would use it at all, because I typically find those types of features more trouble than they’re worth, but it is a really wonderful feature. I made donburi (chicken/egg dish) and it was so incredibly easy. It cooked simultaneously with the rice and both the meal and rice turned out great. The only downside is that it doesn’t make a ton, it was enough for just my husband and I, but still really great for a really quick, easy dinner. It’s also very easy to clean, the top, inside part where the steam comes out unscrews so you can clean that gummy build up. If you’re debating between this and the Zojirushi, get this one! I’ve liked it so much better, and if you’re new to Japanese rice cookers, they are a night and day difference from your typical rice cooker!

So very satisified
I've used rice steamers for some time and fairly recently had to replace an old one that finally bite the dust. I tried a less expensive, run of the mill brand and while it had decent ratings, I was not satisfied. So, I decided to look at some of the higher end brands - which was a daunting experience as my current budget was not up for the investment cost. Then, I came upon the "Tiger Corporation JBV-A10U-W 5.5-Cup Micom Rice Cooker with Food Steamer and Slow Cooker, White" and it seemed to be the quality product I was looking for - quality in the spectrum of some of the high end steamers but at a more affordable out of pocket price. The steamer design and directions are user-friendly and the spectrum of cooking includes: plain, Synchro-cooking , brown, and slow cook/steam -- I am especially enjoying the Synchro-cooking setting for convenient but separate from rice one stop meal cooking. Note: While a large amount of rice can be steamed, I believe the size of the Synchro-cooking basket is better suited to one or two people (two meals for one person or a shared meal for two) so larger households might need to consider the larger model or more than one. ...but yes, so very satisfied and hope that Tiger brand quality will make this a long and happy relationship.

Great Unit
I took the advice of a coworker and got a Japanese brand (although this model is chinese-made) rice cooker, and I am glad I followed through. This unit makes perfect rice every time and has worked reliably for the past year. I have used it for plain white rice, jasmine, brown, and black rice without issue. The syncro cook feature is great for making entire meals with this unit and the slow cook looks to be handy as well. The nonstick bowl is great too - even the messiest rice comes off even if we leave it out and it dries. If I have any complaints, it is that the lid is a pain to clean since it isn't removable.

Perfect Rice Every Time
We have been cooking brown rice in addition to white rice more often, so I thought I'd like to replace my trusty Tiger single-cycle rice cooker with a model with more cycles. I chose a very highly rated Aroma model. It didn't even cook white rice. I bought this, returning to the Tiger brand I trust, and couldn't be happier.

My life is so much better with this rice cooker!
I'm so thrilled that I bought this. I was using a cheap Panasonic rice cooker before. I always ended up with crunchy rice at the bottom, and if I let it sit for more than three hours, the whole pot of rice got crunchy. I'd estimate I was throwing away a third of what I cooked. THIS rice cooker, on the other hand, is brilliant! It will keep rice warm and soft for three days (maybe longer, I haven't tried). Nothing is wasted, and I can make myself lunches in advance :) It comes with a steam-basket that will cook your vegetables or chicken while the rice cooks in the bottom pot. I could eat a 100% balanced diet if this rice cooker was the only kitchen item I owned. For anyone who's never owned a Japanese brand of rice cooker, they're immensely better than anything you might buy at wal-mart. This is one of the least expensive ones you can get without sacrificing quality. Please do yourself a favor and buy this rice cooker.

I highly recommend this.
My Aroma 10 cup rice cooker finally died after serving me faithfully for 15 years. I knew I wanted to finally splurge and get a fancy Japanese rice cooker, because I'm middle age now and I deserve nice things, right? But the Zojirushi brand was just a bit steep for my frugal self, so I looked up tons of comparison reviews and this Tiger came in consistently as an A in the ratings. I'm so glad I bought this. I love it. I have not had a bad batch of rice in it at all. It doesn't say it has fuzzy logic, but I'm pretty sure it does, because I've varied the amount of water I use to make 3 cups a couple of times as a test, and the rice came out the same each time. In my old Aroma those would have resulted in either an undercooked batch, or a soggy batch. But in this rice cooker, it's perfect every single time. I have not yet tried the brown rice setting, or used the Tacook option. My family is a strictly white jasmine rice Asian family, and for that, this makes delicious, fluffy rice. This is probably one of my best purchases of 2019. I get happy when I cook rice. Who gets happy when they have to cook rice? I do, because this rice cooker just brings out the stupid simple joy out of me.
