We bought them for camping and tried them out with our three oldest grandkids. Since they are of the age that we try to keep them in sight, I can't address the range. I can say that they were a huge hit! And, when on a hike and the front and back of the line were not within view of each other, they were very helpful. Volume was great, they are easy to use, and the price was right. I especially like that they were easy to recharge. The only 'con' is that the solid black color may be professional, but that makes them harder to find if they are put down. A bit of bright orange duck tape solved that.

Rather than running up and down three stories to tell the dogs to lay down, I put one of these in the basement when I put the dogs in their kennels to sleep. Usually the sound of my voice and just telling them to lay down is enough to get them to calm down. Sound quality is very clear. Find a channel not in use nearby. They pick up other walkies chatter.

The walkie talkies are very easy to use, user-friendly and lightweight! Customer Service is excellent as well. One unit stopped charging after a while. I emailed customer service. Angela replied back immediately and made sure to follow up with me every single step from the time of my exchange request until the replacement unit has been delivered to my house.

I have other brands of inexpensive Chinese radios and I bought 2 pair of this radio. After Christmas they all worked perfectly and all of a sudden one stopped working. I contacted the seller directly instead of returning it back to Amazon and they went through the steps making sure I didn't forget something. Needless to say they are sending me a replacement. I'm more then happy with this radio. It sounds unbelievably good for it's size. Better than my beofeng uv-82hp. It says two watts and one on low, I believe that's probably right but expect to see about a mile range out of it because of the antenna. The price to pay for compact radios. It's better than bubble pack radios which are a complete waste of money.

These radios perform extremely well, much better than any FRS and most GMRS radios. RF range is good and strong audio from such a small size. Very handy to keep around for quick use. Simple controls make it easy to use. And for the price, it's an outstanding value. So much so that I will be buying more, especially since I've "lost" 2 of them to my kids already! It comes with an odd selection of programmed channels, so I reprogrammed to the 14 simplex FRS channels, which is ideal for these radios now the FCC has revised FRS rules for 2017 to allow a full 2 Watts on all FRS channels. Also supports PL & DPL, but they are programmed per channel position without front panel selection, so better to just leave them as carrier squelch. They are not listed with FCC as FRS radios, but other than programability they probably would qualify under the revised rules, so no practical problem using them as such. Regarding programming, download the RT22 programming software from the web because it is easier than trying to find it on the disk. The programming software is easy to use, as long as you have the FRS frequency listing at hand. The programming cable is not just a USB cable, there is circuitry in it, so don't loose it.

work good, easy to use, seem well made. Range ~ at best maybe 1 mile if relatively clear terrain

use the Walkie Talkies last week and they lasted all day.. 9 hours... with one charge, love it

So far they work great. Holds their charge well. Distance range is good enough for me, puttering around outside, maybe 200 yards out and the wife can reach out and touch me with ease. So far they seem fairly durable, but as with all things, time will tell. So far I am very pleased

We use FRS radios for communication among course workers at our small motorsports events. Maximum required range is no more than about 3/4 mile, generally unobstructed line-of-sight. We've been using crappy Motorola FRS radios for years, and thought that was the level of quality that we were stuck with for durable radios under $30-40 each. We also liked that they used standard AA batteries, so we didn't have to worry about remembering to keep them charged. Based on the reviews of these radios, we decided to go ahead and give them a shot, in spite of being rechargeable. So far, we've been blown away by them! For our purposes, they are perfect! I was able to program them so that all of the channels are on the same frequency to make them "idiot proof". (nobody can tune to the wrong frequency) And the sound quality vs. the Motorolas, even the new ones, is amazing! Part of it is the added output power (1W vs 0.5W). But, they also don't have the transmit delay (push the button, wait a sec to talk) of the other radios, and the hardware just sends and receives significantly cleaner audio. Definitely a major step up in every way! We use them for about 8-10 hours at a time. So far, they've made it through two events without charging. So, battery life (on and monitoring, receiving maybe 100 brief calls per hour, and transmitting maybe 10 brief calls per hour) is at least 16-20 hours. Their charge rate seems to be similar to a cell phone. They'll fully charge in under 2 hours. We liked them so much that we immediately ordered 10 more along with a 6-bay charger, and retired our entire old set of Motorola radios. We're hoping they will last a few years. But, honestly, for the price... to get this much better sound quality, we wouldn't complain if we had to replace them every year or two!

Came with belt clips and a programming cable. Works well with CHIRP. Radios has FRS frequencies pre-populated. All 4 radios talk to each other fine. Very lightweight and audio quality is impressive for this small radio.
