Comparison to Eucalan Delicate Wash and The Laundress Wool and Cashmere Shampoo!
As a hand knitter, blocking is an important technique in getting your hand knitted items into a desired shape by redistributing the stitches, without stretching it out or damaging the fibers. Plain water can be used for this purpose but to keep the natural fibers soft and to preserve the natural lanolin oils found in theses fibers, a wool wash is more efficient. I have purchased and used this item, along with Wrapture - Jasmine Large 16.9 Oz and The Laundress Wool & Cashmere Shampoo, Cedar, 16 fl. oz. – 32 loads. Here is my comparison of all three items: 1. Eucalan Delicate Wash Wrapture – Jasmine This is a no rinse wash that contains a touch of lanolin to naturally condition fibers. I used this wash on several Lopapeysas that I hand knitted with scratchy Icelandic wool. I simply poured about 2 capfuls per gallon of cold water and let the sweater sit overnight. I squeezed it out and laid flat to dry (on a blocking mat) the next day (shaping if necessary). This wash was perfect in softening the wool and gave it a light jasmine scent. Grade A+ 2. The Laundress New York Wool and Cashmere Shampoo – Cedar This is a highly concentrated wool and cashmere shampoo that contains lanolin and cedar extracts. I also used this wash on hand knitted Lopapeysas and a fisherman’s sweater for my husband. I did the same process using about 2 capfuls per gallon of cold water and let the sweater sit overnight, however, this shampoo (it’s sudsy and soapy), requires rinsing. I rinsed with cold water until it ran clear then squeezed it out and laid flat to dry (on a blocking mat) the next day (shaping if necessary). I also recommend this shampoo for washing (cleaning) wool items that have been soiled or sweaty. It works wonderfully on my husband and children’s ski wool items and base layers. This wash was perfect in softening the wool and giving it a lovely cedar “woodsy” smell that is perfect for the “manly” man yet still subtle and feminine for the “girly” girl! Grade A+ 3. Soak Wash for Hand Knits – Scentless This is a gentle no rinse formula that’s phosphate free and perfect for people with sensitive skin or sensitive noses! I use this for all my hand knitted baby and children’s items (form socks and hats to sweaters and blankets) and hand knitted items I give as gifts. I think this one would be perfect for other delicate items such as lingerie. I follow the same method, as with the other washes (soak, squeeze and rinse, lay flat to dry). This wash was perfect in providing the softness without the fragrance! Grade A+ Note I cannot comment on how any of these washes/shampoos preform on machine washed items as I’ve only done them by hand. None of my items have shrunk using any of the above washes/shampoos. I highly recommend any of the above three for your wool, cashmere, or natural fiber items!

Works great!
I used this one silk headscarf with “products” on it. Everything came off and it dried with no deep wrinkles and a lovey hand.

Great for delicates
I heard about this wash years ago on a blog, and have been using it for a long time. A container this size lasts me over a year. I wash lightly used items, including underwear, summer-weight pajamas, sweaters, and light knit tops. It does a great job with those things, but I would not expect it to handle heavier knits or soiled items. Overall, this product saves me both time (it takes 20 minutes max to wash & hang a set) and money to keep many of my clothing items both clean and fade-free.

Great for hand washing
Because it isn't soap based, there is no need to rinse. Just soak in cold water with the product, squeeze out and hang to dry. Makes hand washing a breeze.

I rarely write reviews but this product is great. Well worth the money and I'll be buying more when necessary. Glad I found it. Also, it is so hard to find unscented detergent. This stuff is great.

A good Soak for you fine knits
A good soak for fine knits. If you have just finished a knit or crocheted piece that just needs blocking, you don't have to rinse rinse. If your item is needing a good cleaning, then, by all means, give it a good rinsing after it soaks.

The best detergent by a mile for knitwear
This is one of those items that's a bit expensive yet worth every penny. The no-rinse feature is such a time-saver, stress-saver, and water-saver. I used to handwash a sweater, empty the basin of the soapy water, fill it with clean water, let the sweater sit there for 5-10 minutes to get some detergent out then rinse and repeat (quite literally) 3-4 times until the soap was fully rinsed out of the sweater. It used a ton of water and took a ton of time; about an hour per sweater before it headed to the drying rack. With this soap, I fill the basin, add the detergent, submerge the sweater, gently move it around for about a minute then let it soak for 15 minutes. That's it as far as washing. Then I remove the sweater, roll it in a towel, then lay it flat on a sweater rack. I've done multiple sweaters before changing the water or adding soap but that's a personal preference. If a sweater isn't that dirty I don't see the need to empty the basin and use more detergent. Bottom line: I can't recommend this detergent enough. If you're serious about knitwear, buy this.

So thankful for a no-rinse option!
I got this less than a week ago and I’ve already used it almost every day! I had always used Woolite for hand wash items but after doing some googling to see if there was a better option I was excited to hear that no-rinse detergents existed! I started with delicates (it worked great), then (skeptically) moved onto sneakers I had worn to hike through the Badlands in South Dakota — after a good soak and a very quick scrub with a shoe brush they were as good as new!! Today I used it on a washable cat bed and it’s still drying but I’m optimistic. I’ll update my review if I notice any downsides, but as of now I’m thrilled!

I like this better
This has replace my bottle of the popular hand wash product. You know, the one for wool. I like this better. It really works well.

Great for Washing Clothes on Travel!
I purchased a 12-ounce bottle of unscented SOAK for washing clothes in lavatory sinks while on extended trips without access to laundry facilities. I have been transferring what I need to smaller Nalgene bottles in order to reduce weight and comply with TSA constraints. The detergent has been great! Only a squirt or two is needed to wash a sink full of clothes. It cleans clothes very effectively. It rinses out very well, with no perceptible residue or odor. I plan on staying with unscented SOAK for all my future travel needs!
