We have gone through two expensive processors: Kitchen Aid and Cuisinart. Each has its own issues. Kitchen Aid product quality, in general, has gone completely bad. We have several major appliances that are KA and they have required a lot of repairs, but I digress. The Kitchen Aid processor lasted about 6 years before the motor control went bad and the cost of repairing is twice the cost of the Hamilton Beach. The Cuisinart on the other hand, lasted one year, It’s major problem is warpage of the plastic while in the dishwasher. We purchased two different containers and both warped. Finally we purchased the Hamilton Beach. At this price you cannot go wrong. One of the greatest features beside the price is the way that the appliance is assembled. Instead of sliding parts together like the Kitchen Aid and Cuisinart does. this processor has a snap on lid. No more worrying about parts meshing so that the unit turns on. The HB is incredible in its easiness. On the negative, and it’s not really a negative to us, is the slicer which only gives you one size slice. One of the other devices had an adjustable slicer which was really unique. The HB does what its intended and we have had zero issues, no wash issues, not operational issues. It is just a good basic machine at an incredible cost. A cost that is equal to repair costs or replacement costs of the other two.

This is a great food processor, but I wish we had purchased a smaller one. If you are making a lot of food, this processor works amazing, but if you just want to make a little guac or something to go with a small dinner, it doesn't work at all. It just kind of smashes the food to the side, and never really chops it up. If you add more food to it, it works great. Just make sure you get the size that best applies to you.

Best piece of equipment I’ve ever purchased. I’ve cut my meal prep time from a day to an hour. I slice my vegetables that I pickle, mince my garlic and onions for my moules marineires and shoyu sauce, then I mince all my ingredients for making dumplings. After this 15 minute endeavor, it takes 45 minutes or so, to toss slices of vegetables for filling into pickling mason jars, and make dumplings for an entire month. Safest, easiest to clean, but not the quietest for about 15 minutes a month for me. For all the toolbags that cried about cleaning this thing, you’re probably the same bunch of dirtbags that don’t wash your hands after the bathroom. I’d say meaner more hate filled things but Amazon has convinced me to be gentle. As for the noise pollution, don’t live with nocturnal roommates.

I've owned, and used the he11 out of a Cuisenart...and loved it. But when it died, I thought I'd try something new and something way less expensive. Well, what a pleasant surprise to find that this HB processor is, in my opinion, even better. And here's why: - The base is much lighter and better ergonomically designed - It's super easy to use with clear choices on the type of blend you want - I got the larger capacity one, so it hold about 1/3 more than the Cuisenart - It's very easy to assemble, break apart and clean - It's clearly well-made, multi-functional and sturdy - It chops, blends and processes every bit as well as the other brand(s) - And a big point is that it's about 1/3 the price of other processors. I always believe that you get what you pay for, but in this case, I got a whole lot more. I'm so happy with it that I just bought one as a b-day gift for my "surrogate daughter". Disclaimer: I don't work for Hamilton Beach, nor am I associated with them in any way, nor was I given this product to review. I just like to give credit where it's due and this little peach makes my kitchen work so much easier that I give it lots of credit and love.

I am not the type of person to spend ridiculous sums of money on a high-end food processor for the house. This nice 12 cup processor fits my needs without a problem. I had to replace my Kenmore food processor when the pulse switch stopped working. Since Kenmore no longer has the lifetime warranty, and I did not feel like futzing with the switch, I opted to buy this baby instead. Let's go over the pros and cons: PROS: 1. Powerful. I can go from whole tomatoes to tomato sauce in 3 seconds. Salsa takes about 7 seconds. Bread dough riding the blade in less then 15 seconds. I have made all of these in the past week. 2. Large capacity. My last processor was 8 cup. This is 12 cup. 3. Easy snap lock assembly. No twisting and turning the bowl to get it in place. 4. Suction cups to lock it to the counter so it doesn't "walk" 5. 2 Speeds and a pulse switch 6. SHARP blades. 2 blades, an S-blade and a slicer/shredder disc 6. Easy to clean up. Spray all the parts with my sink sprayer and load it in the TOP rack of the dishwasher On that last note, I saw the comments about the S-blade possibly harboring mold. I use my sprayer to spray everything out before putting it in the dishwasher. Do NOT use the SANI or heated dry mode per the manufacturer's recommendations. Once the wash cycle is done, remove the S-blade and shake it thoroughly over the sink. Using a sprayer helps to get any possible trapped food particles out of the design, although I have yet to have anything get trapped. Wipe it off and store it. CONS: 1. Single piece construction of the S- Blade. I prefer two piece, but it works fine. 2. I did not know that Hamilton Beach makes this with a bowl scraper attachment as well. Maybe I should have looked a little more, but my house needs a working food processor, with pulse. Neither of the above are enough for me to reduce a star in the rating so 5 star it is. It should last me quite a while, since I use a processor 3-4 times a week. If you do not need a $300 food processor, this little fellow will serve you well.

First off I buy on amazon all the time and have not ever left a review. I fell in love with this product. I have never used a food processor so I didn't want to start with a super expensive one. This thing has come in handy so many times over the holidays! I make a mac n cheese that I have to grate the cheese by hand, and it can take forever, with this it's done in less than a couple minutes. I made a cheese cake at Christmas and used this to make the crust, then when I couldn't find my hand mixer for the filling I decided to try this to mix it all up and it did just that! I can't wait to try some more things with this processor. If you are on the fence about getting this go for it!! It is WELL worth the $$$$.

My wife likes to make Vietnamese spring rolls and they used to take a lot of chopping and preparing. With this beast she was able to put chicken breasts whole directly into the hopper and have the machine do all the hard work of chopping them up. It even made short work of the dehydrated (and rehydrated) mushrooms that can be quite tough even after adding water to them for a long time. The device is nice also because it's so easy to put together. There was obviously a lot of usability engineering that went into re-thinking how a food processor could snap together. The motor on this thing is amazingly strong too, as are the blades. Really a great product for tough chopping duties.

I accidentally melted the plastic container for my wife's last food processor in the dishwasher and had to find a replacement since she was not particularly happy about me melting the first one. I found this one online and she loves it, though I don't put it in the dishwasher. I am not sure if it would survive or not but I am not willing to take that chance. It has several different settings and lots of equipment to process any food that you want.

This is my first ever food processor so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I have been very pleased. I've used it to shred carrots (super easy with the included shredding plate) and chop fresh mint leaves to make syrup (also super easy). I've been particularly impressed with the way it chops up leafy greens like mint into tiny pieces so I'm looking forward to using it for pesto. I love that this creates a nice, dry product, instead of the wet mess that I usually get from my blender when chopping mint. The system is super easy to use and you just put in the blade (and the shredding disc if you're using it) and then snap on the lid and you're ready to go. I love the feed tube and how easy it is to feed hard stuff like carrots or big wads of mint leaves down there and I've never had to use the little pusher thing. There's plenty of power and even shredding a pound of mint only takes about five minutes. Cleanup is a cinch and the blade, shredding disc, plastic carafe, and lid are all dishwasher safe. Everything comes out looking brand new and I haven't seen any staining of the plastic parts. When doing leafy greens or mint, I've found that it's best to empty the carafe once it reaches half full before starting a new batch, other wise the new items might not reach the blade. Overall, this has been a great addition to my kitchen, and a great way to quickly and easily finely chop or shred items and I certainly recommend it.

We have used this food processor for one month, and we love it. This processor is replacing a 15 year old model and we don't miss the old one at all. Best features, simple to use, just sit bowl on like a blender, then snap the top on. You don't have to align and twist the pieces together. Unlike other models, this one is a breeze to use and occupies a place of honor on our counter top. We have made salsa, quick chopped vegetables for stir-fry, grated cabbage for coleslaw, grated and sliced block cheese using the wide mouth opening, mixed pasta dough, and made the best hash browns by grating potatoes dropped through the large mouth opening at the top. The unit had plenty of power for all tasks. When slicing cheese, the slices were thin and even. About the wide mouth feed tube; You put drop large items in (potatoes, cheese..) and leave about 1/4 at the top for the large black pusher to engage the safety switch. As soon as the safety switch activates, the slicer/grater starts and the large items feed quickly. Simply pull out the pusher, drop in another large item and repeat. The motor has plenty of power to kick start and go to work. Again, the very simple assembly, (snap snap) and easy cleanup have far surpassed my expectations. The bowl is really large, and you don't have to worry about over filling when doing salsa. We ran five whole red potatoes thru for hashbrowns in just a few seconds - had enough for five people. Over the last month I've started using the processor at least once every couple days. It whips up a pasta dough in under three minutes start to finish. (Which we set aside to run thru a pasta roller for fresh pasta in many dishes.). I can quickly make sauces, (like a spanish sauce with cooked fresh veggies you server over chicken....) My only complaint is the cord is short. It seems all new appliances have short cords. This is only an issue when you have several things going on close to the outlets. We very much like this processor and would not hesitate to purchase again.
