A Quality Microwave!
A few weeks ago I decided to replace the Panasonic Microwave that I got in the 1980's. It still works but the power isn't as strong as the new Microwaves, so it was time. Because it was a Panasonic that supplied Several Decades(!) of dependable use I looked to Panasonic again. This Panasonic NN-SN966S Microwave is a wonderful appliance and it has such a small footprint and it's sooo powerful and has lots of room on the inside. It's a great Microwave and I hope it lasts as long as the Panasonic that it's replacing.

Excellent built-in replacement.
Purchased with a trim kit for built-in application. Unit is relatively quiet and powerful. Controls are well thought-out allowing simple, frequent tasks to be done easily and quickly. Door opens and closes more easily than the unit replaced. Delivery was as promised.

Superb microwave for large dishes and family daily use
Panasonic is my go-to brand in microwaves. Its friendly design, humongous interior, and the great wattage make it the ideal home cooking and reheating companion. This model is particularly spacious for a countertop microwave, so make sure you note the dimensions as it can dwarf every other countertop applicance in your kitchen. The interior now has LED lighting that's really bright. Easy to use menu and buttons (with sensory feedback - i.e. feel the click).

Working flawlessly so far.
Unit it replaces only performed at peak for 3 years. Special features seem to work very well. This is an updated version of the one it replaces. Large size of turntable, in fact it's exact dimensions, was a deciding factor as we have microwave cookware requiring these dimensions.

Works well as a retrofit built in with custom trim kit
This item is a replacement for an 18 year old Dacor unit that finally failed. The Dacor was built in above my oven, and had a stainless trim kit around it. The Panasonic unit is superior to the Dacor, and is really well priced. The device works quite well. The inverter technology is an improvement for defrosting. I am hopeful it will last many years. My main reason for reviewing has to do with the trim kit for a retrofit. I ordered the recommended kit through Amazon from Panasonic. It is a lovely kit, but works very poorly as a retrofit to my current cabinet. It is unfortunate, since the kit could have been designed with adjustable mounts. But it is not. So, after some internet searching, I came upon microtrim.com. They make custom fits for any unit. I ordered on a Monday, and the custom kit arrived in 5 working days. It is very easy to install, and works well. Looks just fine. It is not as nice looking as the kit from Panasonic, but at least it fits properly!! I have included a photo.

Perfect for our needs
I like many things about this microwave. It's huge inside, well lit, and easy to clean inside. It cooks evenly. The control panel is exactly as we like it to be laid out (simple for anyone) and it's easy to clean outside as well. The design of the front face is minimal and clean looking - no curves or other such extra flairs. We're installing it in an island. It's just a microwave, not a focal point. It shouldn't draw attention to itself. Like most people, we only use it to reheat things most of the time. It does a great job on that. We'll probably never take advantage of the other functions it has, but I'm sure they work well if we ever need them. We're very happy with this microwave.

Best of the best after a use-comparison of three
After going through three different microwaves including those with a "top-pick" rating from the NY Times "Wirecutter", plus Consumer Reports' advice - the Panasonic 2.2 cu.ft 1250W unit is solidly the best, especially the Inverter technology: being able to dial in - real - power percentages (as opposed to all others that "fake" percentages and actually use "full-on" "full-off" as a means of controlled temperature output; there is a significant difference! Likewise the Panasonic has logical and finger-friendly buttons easily pushed. Especially better is the "soft-touch" door opening... others have been stiff or very difficult to open, likewise close. 2.2 cubic ft size (large) is so much more functional over 1.6 size units.... interior space. Visibility and lighting inside the Panasonic, plus white interior - is excellent, well designed. Also pleasing is the very low noise level. A two-thumbs-up product.

This is a vast improvement over my 2 year old LG
When my old Kenmore microwave died after 12 years of service I ran out to one of the home stores and bought a 2.2 cu/ft,1200 W, LG microwave. As soon as I got it home I realized there were some things I didn't like about it. 1. What kind of a moron designs a keypad with a black background and dark grey numbers/letters on the keypad? 2. The interior was a dark grey, making it almost impossible to tell if the interior was clean. 3. It was very heavy and very noisy. The fan drive was loud, and it made a loud clunk when the microwave kicked in. The turn-table made a clacking noise like the chain drive on a Massy Ferguson. 4. After just two years it would only work part of the time. Often we would have to start it three and four times just to heat up a cup of coffee. NOW, enter the Panasonic SD945S. 1. the keypad is easy to see. The rotating dial time selector is very easy to set. 2. The interior is a bright white with a very bright LED light which will make it very easy to clean. 3. It's quiet. 4. It cooks the food better. You can actually cook something without taking out halfway through the cooking cycle to stir it. (what a concept, a microwave that actually cooks) My wife loves the keep warm setting as I frequently don't drop everything I'm doing and run to the dinner table with her verbose declaration that dinner is ready. Overall this is a much better selection than it's poorly designed predecessor. PS If you like a partially working LG microwave for free, you'll find it sitting out by the curb waiting for the trash collector.

Simple review would be easy to do you put said item in and it ...
I decided to wait and write my review until I had it for a bit. Simple review would be easy to do you put said item in and it does heat said item. It does a bit more than that the wow factor for me is it heats evenly each time which is very important to me. If you are used to cheaper microwaves and long cook times problem solved! I can now heat things up quicker without worry that I will have to put it back in for additional time, I no longer worry that when running late my popcorn will be ready when Game of Thrones comes on. It is a rather big unit so have space needed for this stylish appliance. Although there were no color choices I find it to go with most everything. Defrost feature close to perfect as in don't throw away wrapper to what you're working with until you get the weight from it sometimes a bit of math is involved so one might even consider it educational too.

Cudoos Reheat and Cook
So far working great! I especially like the Sensor Reheat and Sensor Cook. We upgraded in size from or last Panasonic micro wave, which lasted 15 years, and the larger size is convenient.
