Installs like pretty much any vinyl post - you don't need a anchor post kit, just a pressure-treated 4x4 and some concrete. The vinyl post is installed over the 4x4. Just make sure to get wood that has dried, if the 4x4 is still wet from the pressure treatment, it is very hard to fit the vinyl post over it. The post itself seems very sturdy.

It took less than an hour to put it together and install. You don’t need to be handy to install it yourself; you just need to place a 4x4 24” into the ground, follow the directions to snap the post together, place the post over the 4x4, secure the post with 4 screws (included), secure the mailbox (not included) to the post with 4 screws (included) and mark your street number. Boom, done.

Needs a 4 x 4 inch wood pole to provide proper support; fortunately I had some left over from a previous project. Affixed my industrial strength metal mailbox to it. Heavy, but the plastic post holds it securely. Used landscaping blocks around the base to fortify the anchorage - hopefully when the next person backs into it the damage will be to their vehicle, not my new mailbox.

This arrived just as expected and is exactly as described! I had old wood mailbox, so I simply cut the 4x4 post down some and slid this right on top! I bought Gibraltar mailbox which fits just perfect! I now have the best looking mailbox on the cul-de-sac!

This is a low maintenance, clean look that has served us well. This purchase was our second one. The first stood up well to the elements, except during hurricane season when the finial flew off, but we simply glued it back on and didn't have another problem... until someone in an F-250 came barreling down the street and knocked it down. Truth be told, the post withstood that hit far better than the mailbox mounted it. Bottom line... it was worth purchasing again, so we did.

This mailbox post is exactly what we wanted. White always looks clean and sophisticated. It is plastic so we had to create a rock bed around it to avoid damaging the post while weed whacking. Would recommend pairing it with the Gibraltar large mailbox.

Existing wooden post was starting to rot. I simply sawed it off to fit, slipped this over it and presto! Perfect fix and looks great!

Our old mailbox just gave up and fell apart. We were able to install this in one afternoon. It looks great. I ended up going wild and bought a new box to go with it an a very pretty mailbox cover that added flowers and humming birds (held in place by magnets). I have the pretties mailbox on the street. This looks like it will last a very long time too.

This mailbox post is exactly what we were looking for. We took a plain 4 X 4 wood post and sunk it 2 feet in the ground with some Sika fence post mix. Once it was set, we slid this white vinyl post cover over the wood post. We did have to saw about 6 inches off the top of the wood post to make it fit perfectly. I took the advice of a few other reviewers and added an extra few screws, especially up near the arm. It seems very sturdy and looks beautiful.

Looking for an all white set up of box and post. Purchased all separately and they look good. Very easy to install. 5 foot wood post and 40 # bag of concrete did the job. Be sure to look up USPS requirements as it’s not specified in the instruction.
